Dan Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 Yep I'm with the others here. Keep it and have a few more go's with it. Often takes a while to get fully into it but when you do, it's special. I got into this one far quicker than 13. Still think there are improvements to be made though.

Just a little bit of commitment and 'sticking at it' can go a long way to ensuring you get a bit hooked!

Am I the only one who gets bored quite quickly in the Premier League?
LCFC FOX Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 Really have never seen the appeal of downloading tactics. I've read things for tips, but developing your tactic half the game for me. I develop my own but tend to download one or two for back up. If my tactic goes tits up I will give the downloaded one a go

Am I the only one who gets bored quite quickly in the Premier League? Depends who you are. With Leicester, I don't think I've ever got bored on FM. Other teams, slightly. But I feel like there's always a challenge. Especially if you go on a run of successful seasons - you don't want to end the good run. I think in the past couple of FM games, I've only ever been one other team a couple of times - Everton & Barcelona. It was fun, but not as fun as with Leicester.

Am I the only one who gets bored quite quickly in the Premier League? I don't but I only really ever play with Leicester in recent years. I enjoy constantly finding good regens and establishing a legacy with Leicester. In my last proper save '11 or '12(?) I got to about 2045, trying to improve the reputation worldwide so I can get the same sort of stadium/sponsorship/etc that Utd or Real do. I managed to take over the England team at that point and for a little while every single player in the starting XI was a Leicester player (half regulars, some youngsters and 1 or 2 16 year olds). KInd of used us as Leicester's development team. I did download an English 10-tier league or whatever it is with one and started as Coalville. Worked my way up a few divisons but it was quite monotonous just signing terrible but decent frees season after season.

Just something about the bottom half of the Premier League really bores me and I can't quite put my finger on it. I've considered being Barcelona to see if I can recreate their football but I highly doubt I'd pull it off. I've had decent games on 13 with Schalke, Nantes, Napoli, St Etienne & Leicester. I probably enjoyed Nantes the most. I don't but I only really ever play with Leicester in recent years. I enjoy constantly finding good regens and establishing a legacy with Leicester. Won the CL with them after 9 years on 11 and it was done just by buying quick players I've worked up with Fleetwood before but got a bit sick of having my best players sold without seeing a penny of it. I'd love to do a career using only youth players. I used a lot of them at Nantes and I think that's why I enjoyed it more.
Beliall Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 ahhh im so f!@#$ angry! was drawing 3-3 with supersport, was ahead 3 times and looking like getting a fourth when, ping, laptop shuts down. f@$$# . when I reload it you can bet ill lose the f!#$#er 8-0

They rebuilt a stadium and called it Parmar Park after myself . In the same save, Chelsea renamed Stamford Bridge to Lampard Arena, and then rebuilt a stadium called Zola Park. Some regens though are just insane. If you catch them young you can have a bargain on your hands. Catch them a couple years later and you'd have to pay stupid money. The only downside of having such a save is that it takes ages to load the game and to load stuff within the game. So much memory and thousands and thousands of players to load up .

StanSP Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 Parmar Park lol Imagine if they made a circular stadium in your name. Turner Round. Can you imagine the songs that would be sung? Bonnie Tyler would be proud.

I make my own, Just testing these out, the V3 424 is rediculous... just beat middlesborough 6-0 they had 2 shots, I'll be making my own once ive tested this out with a new save, no point if you download a tactic that turns you from a mid table predicted side to champions instantly..
The Horse's Mouth Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 I've had 9 back to back loses, this game is a pile of shit
Beliall Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 keep going. im almost in february and havent won a match since opening day .
Dan Posted 27 November 2013 Posted 27 November 2013 I've signed Timo Horn for £3mil You can get some absolutely superb business on this.
Fox92 Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 Just got into January, form has dipped. Lost at Leeds (every other team has hammered them, no joke, Wednesday beat them 6-0), had to come back against 'Boro to draw 2-2 and lost 0-3 to Cardiff in the FA Cup. Without Wood (he has scored 18 goals so far), I'd be in a relegation battle. ... Also, how many goals go through the goalkeepers body? It's ridiculous.
scinnell Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 Won the Championship by 11 points with Leicester, resigned after winning one in ten in the prem, now have took over the sheep! Will Hughes and Mason Bennett look so promising I couldnt turn it down.
Dan Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 Decided to totally bin off my 3-4-1-2. Maybe a rash decision but we went to pot last year and the defence was a weak point, so I've gone for a 4-2-3-1... Horn Grosskreutz - Moore - Nielsen - Bakayogo James - Drinkwater Mackay Steven - Armstrong - Sisi Wood Still a lot of room for improvement, but once again given a turd budget. Not convinced by Wood yet either.
Uncle Monty Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 Can someone post some screenshots of Leicester's players? Always desperate to know how good they are going to be.
Haydos Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 Anyone found a solid tactic that works defensively? Or had a play around with defender roles? Still finding it hard to keep a clean sheet. How about wing backs? I like having attacking players in my team so I can never bring myself to include 5 'defenders'
Beliall Posted 28 November 2013 Posted 28 November 2013 havent tried wb yet, only have one. in my game if I play defencivly I lose so I try and attack. had some luck with a back 3 and dm in half back role, but I play more with a back 4, with limited full backs and cd on defend.

How about wing backs? I like having attacking players in my team so I can never bring myself to include 5 'defenders' 3 at the back with wing backs isn't too bad in my experience but I went to pot defensively. My new formation will be; GK (D) CWB (A) - CD (D) - CD (D) - CWB (A) DLP (D) - DLP (D) IF (S) - EG (A) - IF (S) P(A) Largely experimental again. Want to see what the fuss is with Enganche. I can see us scoring a lot of goals.

How about wing backs? I like having attacking players in my team so I can never bring myself to include 5 'defenders' One that is working for me currently: 4-1DM-1-2-2 FB-CB-CB-FB DM (Ball-winning M) CM (Deep lying playmaker) AMR ------------------ AML ST (complete forward) - ST (advanced forward) What I've found is that it actually works agaisnt the better, bigger sides. I find it difficult to break down some 'lower' teams though. For example, I beat Chelsea and Man City away 4-2 both times in the space of a week. Played Cardiff who were bottom of the league and struggled to a 1-0 win with a last minute goal . In my first season, I signed Samba Diakite on loan from QPR to play as my DM. King played brilliantly for me in the CM role. Knockaert on the right and Dyer on the left. Was also able to sign Conor McAleny on loan from Everton to also play on that left side.

I always seem to find my midfield being overrun if I'm playing a 2 in the middle. And when another team is only playing 2 there I get good results playing a 4-2-3-1. I guess the nature of the tactic keeps them pegged back but if you're against a good passing side don't they just dominate in the midfield?
