So in my first season in charge down at the KP. Things are going well in early march. Sitting 7 points clear at the summit with Wigan just behind. My defence has been second to none all season and I've only conceded 31 in 39 games. However I'm also not scoring, only hitting the back of the net 55 times in the league. I have a feeling strike force of wood and McKay are gonna struggle on the prem. have you guys any recommendation for a premier league hit man?

 

Wood did okay on mine. I picked up Carlos Fierro on a free. Knocky progressed way above expectations playing lots of games at AMR

Believe it or not, my Wrexham are marching to the League 2 title and are currently on a 25 league match unbeaten streak (with a defeat to Chelsea in the cup in the middle somewhere.)

We're 7 points clear of second placed Luton and 11 clear of the play-off places with only 4 games to go. We've lost 4/42, an incredible record for a team in its second season in league 2. Desperate to win the league and go the rest of the season unbeaten now!

Also, a 36 year old Wasilewski is my first choice CB

Won the title with 93 points, 3 clear of second placed Luton. Unfortunately didn't make it to the end of the season undefeated, but hey can't argue with a 25 game unbeaten streak and only 5 losses in 46!

League 1 will be a challenge but I think we will be fine if I have a good summer.

Switched to 352 and it's working now, back to winning ways... Beat Ipswich, Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday. Lost at Brighton but managed good wins against Burnley, and more impressively, Queens Park Rangers, away.

Does anybody else find Chris Wood to be absolute garbage? Never motivated always moaning? Could just be my bad man management skills haha but id thought id see if anyone else could relate

Nah he was my best striker for first season in and then after I got promoted.

 

Never played him up front on his own though. Always had a striker partner and always had crosses going in to him.

 

I do find though, with all players, they are hard to get motivated for majority of matches. The one successful team-talk I find is to get 'revenge' over opponents. Others I just have to take a gamble on getting the right one!

I swear I've put together a squad of Seasonal Affective Disorder sufferers. For the second season running my Empoli side have absolutely capitulated during the winter and then gone on a ridiculous winning streak afterwards. Can anyone think of an actual reason why this keeps happening? If I could stay slightly more consistent or even win a couple of those winter games I'd be easily making the European spots.

Not sure, but possibly because the pitches are worse in winter and you are trying to play passing football, where a bit more direct would be better.

Gone on a really bad run recently so far lost three on the trot! lost 0-1 to Donny despite out playing them for most of the game, just before that lost to Yeovil 0-1 once again outplaying, followed by a 3-4 loss to Huddersfield and then to piss me off even more losing 0-2 at half time against Bournemouth then i did decided to switch off. Something is badly wrong with my teams defending, what gets me is I brought in Ray Wilkins as a coach to sort out our defending but it appears that hasn't helped.

How lucky is this, when i turned off my game i forgot to save it prior to my Huddersfield game so i got another chance, managed to win 5-2! then 5-4 against Bournemouth but i was 5-1 up at half time then followed by disaster lost 3-5 to Watford! seriously how can you defend on this game!

Yeah I'll have a go at being more flexible. I had thought the pitch could be detrimental to my quick counter-attacking style. It wasn't such a problem when I was playing more defensively. Hopefully it's that because my board want European qualification this season after two 10th place finishes, it could spell the end to my 6 seasons in charge of Empoli otherwise.

 

The 5 star potential youngsters I got on frees last season are absolutely killing it so far. I've got a 20 year old Argentine defender who's on 4 stars already and rocketed up to £10 million in one season. The other two 18 year old French kids are ready for the first team as well after going out on loan to Valencia and Sampdoria last season.

 

I recommend Ange-Freddy Plumain from Fulham, he's a right winger I got on a free, got voted my player of the year and just got the golden boot at an U21 tournament for France.

Gave myself no chance going into this, last match before bed type thing. Went with a fairly aggressive 4-3-3 with a nothing to lose approach and nicked a goal in the 10th minute. Dropped to a more conservative 4-5-1 with a holding mid and aimed to play on the counter assuming that they'd get more attacking. They scored from a corner on the stroke of HT.

 

I was still playing a counter attacking game, relying on keeping it tight and making them work for it. Hit on the break with Barkley and Knocky exchanging passes before Knocky took it wide, beat their full back and sent it low to the near post where Fierro knocked in after making a great run across the centre backs.

 

Defended like champs and actually had 3 clear cut chances to their 0 by the end.

Unreal that, fair play. Hope to stay up here and push on next season. I'm 12th now but living dangerously. I'm so reminiscent of Hull in 2008/09 under Phil Brown it's unreal. Think I've lost 10 of my last 13.

Yeah, I'm finding it tough to keep a clean sheet. Even when controlling against weaker teams I always seem to concede to their one shot or a cheap set piece.

 

Jeeze, after those missed pens you'd think it would be your day!

 

I finished 5th in the league this season but I'm about to spunk £15m over 12 months on a 17 year old right back who's already shit hot. So that's most of my transfer budget gone already. A couple of free's at CB should mean I strengthen and next year I'll add to my attack. With Knocky, Fierro, Barkley and Carrasco all doing well I should be alright for firepower.
