LCFC FOX Posted 22 July 2013 Posted 22 July 2013 Former Inter and Partizan Belgrade player, Taribo West, was also accused of committing a similar offence earlier this year. Ex-president of Partizan, Zarko Zecevic, stated: "He joined us saying he was 28. We only later found out he was 40, but he was still playing well so I don’t regret having him on the team." That's more funny

Did he cut him open and count the rings?

shen Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 So it isn't possible that it's the school registration paper that's phoney?
Guest MattP Posted 23 July 2013 Posted 23 July 2013 So it isn't possible that it's the school registration paper that's phoney? Maybe. The new age would certainly explain his appearances in the Colombian second division at the age of 13 though.
Guesty Posted 24 July 2013 Posted 24 July 2013 Wasnt there an topic about how Nigerians have been lying for years Think so; I imagine it's the case of when Nigeria entered some Under-17 tournament and FIFA told them they had some new test to work out players ages and then about 15 suddenly had to be replaced. http://www.goal.com/en/news/89/africa/2009/08/26/1462421/nigeria-drop-15-players-for-age-cheating-ahead-of-u-17-world They also were banned in 1989 from all youth internationals for falsifying ages. Japan's French manager Philippe Troussier quipped that he saw one of Nigeria's U-17 players enter a taxi "with his wife and two children and then driving home" implying that Nigeria had fielded over-age players. Plus there's Obafemi Martins, who is widely to believed to be older than he says; he's allegedly 28 and in the prime of his career at Seattle Sounders after learning his trade at Inter and Newcastle, amongst others. Add to that Kanu, Jay-Jay Okotcha, Taribo West...etc. And who can forget the Football Manager wonderkid: USA's (by way of Ghana) Freddy Adu - so much promise!
Kitchandro Posted 24 July 2013 Posted 24 July 2013 Yakubu as well. He ran like someone in his 40s for us.
Out Foxed Posted 24 July 2013 Posted 24 July 2013 You'll be ok, Nairobi is in Kenya. They're an honest bunch. actually, they've cottoned on to the fact ppl disregard emails from Nigeria now...so they use other african countries.
