alanf0x Posted 30 July 2013 Posted 30 July 2013 Would be interested to know how much you guys have spent already this season on friendlies? Tickets, travel, food, programmes etc.... It's frustrating to hear the manager keep churning out they are extended training sessions. I feel for the fans who pay good money to watch. I'm sure those that paid £15 tonight to watch that rubbish would agree.

Harry - LCFC Posted 30 July 2013 Posted 30 July 2013 You don't have to go. Never understand why fans want to go to games that ultimately don't mean anything. You're not really supporting as the team aren't there to achieve anything for the club, more spectating. Go if you want to but please don't complain if the team don't try, I agree with Pearson when he says they're more like training sessions than matches.
Bayfox Posted 30 July 2013 Posted 30 July 2013 pre season friendlys are great for seeing new players or chalking off grounds. waste of pre season this year then.

Vale Blue Posted 30 July 2013 Posted 30 July 2013 Don't slag our supporters off, if it's something they enjoy then great, Knowone elses business how they spend their money. Personally I haven't been to a game yet, I dont like the slow pace of the games.
StanSP Posted 30 July 2013 Posted 30 July 2013 Supporters should know exactly what they are getting when it comes to friendlies. They should not expect thrashings and dominations of lower opposition. Pearson is right in saying it is an extended training session. All friendlies boil down to is fitness.
whitlock Posted 30 July 2013 Posted 30 July 2013 Not our fault we want to go and see our team, albeit a friendly, to be charge £15 odd quid. Clubs are jumping on the fact that it will be paid if we want to see our teams. Why not charge a fiver across the board. I'm sure the attendance would have been doubled tonight.

Because they know a lot of our supporters will pay £15, why would they charge £5 when they know that fact? If you want £5 tickets for frriendlies stop turning up to pay £15.
purpleronnie Posted 30 July 2013 Posted 30 July 2013 The way some fans think is baffling to me. One day they'll realise a club is a business, and its the fans own fault the clubs charge the prices they do for tickets because the fans continue to buy them.

If you want £5 tickets for frriendlies stop turning up to pay £15. I'll pay the money because I want to watch us. Less people will pay £15 than £5. They'd probably make more money, more people would turn up.

LCFC FOX Posted 30 July 2013 Posted 30 July 2013 Leamington - £5 ticket £2 program Port vale £7 ticket £2 program Northampton £10 ticket £3 program Luckily I don't pay for the petrol and the drinks!
KFS Posted 30 July 2013 Posted 30 July 2013 Always got told by my Dad who would travel to the moon if we were playing there in the league, that friendlies aren't worth paying for. Unless you're into signatures and photographs, it's just a training session really, isn't it? Well done to those who go, but I don't see the point in moaning at all, especially when the main point of an argument is that "the players didn't try". I've seen people posting on social media sites saying they've come from as far as Asia for tonight's friendly- props to them, but I hope they weren't expecting much!

Leicesterpool Posted 30 July 2013 Posted 30 July 2013 To be honest i don't really under stand the reason to go to pre season friendly's, the match itself isn't important the team are more concerned about fitness. I remember going to the Tamworth v Leicester friendly a few years ago and it was terrible, i went because i thought Leicester would thrash them but to be honest it was a tight boring 1-1 draw! I know we had the Real Madrid fixture a couple years ago but that was speical, as it was the likely only chance i see Real Madrid, and actually in fact it was quite a good game for a friendly. But anyway paying £15 to watch a training session is pretty stupid, but its up to you what you spent your money on. But if i was you, i'd save your money for the season or take your lady wife for a meal.
