Aus Fox Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 I bet he's has arguments with Nige Apparently he slept with Nigel's daughter.... LCFC Dev. Squad 4 - 1 Sheff Wed Kennedy, Panayiotou (2), Cain - Team: GK: Conrad Logan - We're all familiar with him RB: James Pearson - Think he's only in the squad because of his old man? He looked out of his depth. CB: Alie Sesay © - This guy is a mini Wes Morgan. Uses his strength and positioning, wins headers. Captains well. CB: Kieran Kennedy - A bit of a Michael Keane. Good in the air, scored a headed goal early on. LB: Callum Elder - Steady left back, moves forward well at times. RM: Adam Dawson - Hard-working winger who looks like a wide version of Waghorn. Puts his head down and moves powerfully with the ball. CM: Michael Cain - Very, very good on the ball, moves forward very effectively, positions well in midfield, great passer. Looks the real deal. CM: Ryan Watson - Hard working midfielder who loves a tackle and retains the ball well. LM: Zoom Bakayoko - Interestingly looks far more capable in attack than defense, even at this level. Could tell he is an experienced pro. ST: Harry Panayiotou - An absolute menace in the box, hence two scrappy goals. ST: Joe Dodoo - Very quick and handy going forward but a bit weak in possession and lacks a quick footballing mind. 12: Jamie Anton - Unused 13: Adam Smith - Unused 14: Robert Paratore - Came on at RM. Clever with the ball, steady. 15: Ben Frempah - Unused 16: Keenan King - Stocky forward, didn't see much. Any that could be knocking on the first team door any time soon?
K1FOX Posted 19 November 2013 Posted 19 November 2013 hes ****ing awful. wonder how zoum played Tafts injured recovering from an op
Saxondale Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 Apparently he slept with Nigel's daughter.... Any that could be knocking on the first team door any time soon? You never know. Michael Cain looks the best bet.
wafoxboy Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 what crowds do they get there to the under 21 games
LCFC FOX Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 Normally they play at the KP, but they didn't today so I don't know. I like that Panayitou and Cain and all CB look promising. But I'm not going to put pressure on them they'll be ready when they are!
Ric Flair Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 Cain was very close last season but i've seen him a few times this season and he's looked poor. I hope he is starting to regain his form and can impress against PL U21 opposition and either go out on loan for further progress or given a chance with us.
Wilson_6 Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 Wouldn't it make sense for this thread to be Pinned at the top? Or what ever you call it. Always have to search for it!
Dan Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 Hope Cain gets himself in the team one day. He's looked 'OK' in a lot of games I've seen of him but I seem to be picking the wrong ones. Never been at all convinced by Taft or Panayiotou. I actually really like that Sesay. If we draw a lower league side in the FA Cup I think it may be worth giving him a go.
FoxKing10 Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 Can't believe what fans write about our young stars. Taft slated all the time yet got England caps Harry p scores 2 we hammer sheff.w then you get these nasty comments. Was at the game and all the boys were a credit to the club. Hope our young ones don't read these negative comments I really do!!!!

If they are affected by a few comments on the Internet about them they don't have anything like the mental stability or fortitude to achieve success at a decent level of football.
LCFC FOX Posted 20 November 2013 Posted 20 November 2013 The whole if the defence looks promising, we must be good in the defending coaching at youth level

I've always been impressed with Panayiouto and not so with Hopper, it's funny. Taft i'm not a fan of, he is your classic big player who excelled as a youngster over smaller and weaker opposition but he'll now get found out ability wise and he'll be no better than League Two standard unless his determination makes him punch above his weight. Everyone raves about Cain, i've spoken to first team players who say he's mustard and very highly thought of. I'm surprised he's not had a loan move yet, maybe send him back to his home club Luton for a month or two would be beneficial for both parties?

Panayiotou isn't terrible but seems to be a bit like a headless chicken at times. Often struggles to get involved even if he does try to. Hopper I've never been sure about, good in the air but otherwise fairly anonymous, I don't think Blyth is a bad player. I wanted Taft to succeed but he needed knocking down a peg or two, and looks like it's more like a peg or ten, can't see him being anywhere near our team. Moore was far better and it's shown. Yeh I agree there about Cain, I just hope it's not the usual loans out to Bristol Rovers (ALWAYS them I swear) and never heard of again. Looking forward to seeing Ndukwu there one day...

So because they're not being overhyped and arselicked, the fans are the problem The real ones who will be successes are the ones who have the talent, and the mentality to not be at all bothered by the critics.
Ric Flair Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Hopper has got a hairline fracture apparently

Spot on. Realistically if someone is good enough for this level they will be hanging around the first team by the age of 18 in this day and age as well. (Moore and Schulpp and King prime examples) If you're still playing for the development squad and haven't had a sniff touching the age of 20 you probably should be preparing to make a living in the lower leagues.

George Taft's blocked me on Twitter and I can swear on my life I've never even made a single tweet to him does he search his own name and block people who've said he's not that good? I'm sure he'd handle Besiktas away. Agree with that too. Don't think many of the current lot will make it at Leicester but not ruling out the likes of Sesay & Cain yet.

I'm blocked as well and never tweeted him so he's certainly a 'searcher'. Cain looked the standout one to me on the few occasions I've watched them, cultured. Sesay looked very raw but clearly has some talent, one minute looked likes Sol Campbell and the next Sol Bamba . The rest I have to be honest didn't fill me with much hope of stepping up anytime soon, certainly not when you consider how good and young our current squad is. It must be a strange thing being in a youth team and deep down you know the better the club performs the less likely it is you'll be playing for the team. As well as King has done if we were in the MON era he wouldn't have got a look in to the first team for any length of time.

It does make you wonder where the hell all of the Championship players are coming from, because the league isn't exactly full of teams bringing through loads of youth.

Failed players from Premier League youth systems who have been replaced by cheaper foreign talent, players who have worked their way up and a few journeyman at this level.
Danno Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Taft is ****ing hurrendous. Think Cain, Blyth and Hopper will be certs to make it. Hopper has played in the cup and played a big part in preseason, so looks like Pearson definitely likes him.

I hope he does but I've not seen anything to suggest he's at this level yet, let alone if we are a Premiership club soon.

Hopper has played in the cup and played a big part in preseason, so looks like Pearson definitely likes him. We have had about 3 players "make it" in the last decade, so to say 3 from this crop are certs to make it is a little optimistic. Those 3 are King, Stearman and Mattock, possibly Gradel as well, but he didn't really make it here. Neither Moore or Schlupp have made it yet, Moore looking the more likely of the 2, but I can see him making way when RDL comes back and then fading away or moving on. If one of those 3 make it I will be ecstatic, but based on current form I'm not going to hold my breath.
Dan Posted 21 November 2013 Posted 21 November 2013 Can see what you're saying but Mattock and Gradel didn't 'make it' at Leicester. I was never really impressed by Gradel at Leicester but we definitely missed a trick.

I was never really impressed by Gradel at Leicester but we definitely missed a trick. I typed 3 as a guess and then tried to think of 3, I would say Mattock made it as he made 66 appearances for us and moved on to a bigger club.
