jimmeh Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Its obvious zidane will be the next madrid manager after Carlo leaves.
Manwell Pablo Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Don't particularly like defending Bayern or their fvcking arrogant fans but considering they've been out of the tie for 60 mins, I'd say their support has been absolutely fantastic tonight. Never stopped. A fair few had stopped on about 80 minutes by virtue of having left the stadium. They were good tonight, The ITV half time analysis of the "silencing of the crowd" was cringeworthy. Just thought in light of the amount of stick English supporting teams had got when compared to their German counter parts it may be worth pointing out there are a fair few Germans willing to do one when their chips are down as well. They aren't perfect.
C-man Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 What the hell is that song Bayern fans sing. I hear it every time they play, proper catchy tune that ends in what sounds like "FCBEEEEEEEEEEEE". Never heard it from any other club. As Pablo said, Twisted Sisters - Deutscher Fussball Meister https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rbHF_Zi2Dzw Unfortunately they don't sing the full song which talks about having the best players 'Robben, Lahm and Ribery' and the 2010 CL final in the Bernabeu with Louis van Gaal. A cracking listen.
bovril Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 Watching Bale and Modric last night was further proof of what a fraud of a manager Harry Redknapp is. How he managed to screw up 3rd place in 2012 is a footballing crime and probably ruined any chance of Spurs winning the league in the near future.

I'm guilty of under-rating him in the past.

Dan Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 I saw him and Eduardo destroy Hajduk Split in 2007, pure poetry in motion. He rarely puts a foot wrong. He's got it all - energy, skill, creativity. He's a class act.
LeicesterBran Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 Real were bloody brilliant last night. Meanwhile Bayern, were mediocre personally think their Bundesliga domination is over and I can't see them winning the CL last season. I've found Bayern, boring this season especiallly against Manchester United at the Allianz Arena. Hoping Atletico will beat Chelsea tonight and make it to the final and beat Real.

Dan Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 Anyways, the time is coming. Chelsea v Atletico Madrid. The can of worms is open, Chelsea will go through IMO although that's based solely on the fact I don't want them to.

I'll take a bet with you for anything that Bayern still win the Bundesliga next season.
Grandad. Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 Diego Costa scoring a last minute away goal that doesn't cross the line and knocks Chelsea out would be epic, especially if Simeone does a Mourinho style celebration like the 'Special One' did at Old Trafford in 2004. Or.. Chelsea scrape through and get trounced by Real Madrid, either way I would be happy.

ScouseFox Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 don't really mind who wins later. got a lot of love for jose but a lot of love for atletico too. probably just siding with them tbf but if real perform how they can they'll annihilate either in the final so who cares.
bovril Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 Cheated us out of FA Cup in 97 vs Cheated us out of UEFA Cup 97... tough call.
Grandad. Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 Haha I noticed that, I couldn't bring myself to replying to it.
Stadt Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 The first goal is absolutely crucial, whoever scores first is through. Is it on Sky?
Grandad. Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 The first goal is absolutely crucial, whoever scores first is through. Is it on Sky? If you had said last week, then I would have agreed but in a second leg of a competition where away goals apply? No, not having that. Chelsea scoring first will mean Atletico still only need the one goal to go through, the game doesn't change for them. It will have more of an impact on Chelsea if they score first, do they settle for the one goal or do they go for the second? So maybe if there is goals, the second is the crucial one, whoever scores that for me then they will go through.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 30 April 2014 Posted 30 April 2014 The anti christ will stick nine men on the line and Ba will hit them on the counter. Can see it being 1-0 Chelsea, but I ****ing hope I'm wrong.

Going to go with Eto'o or Torres surely? Wouldn't surprise me to see Torres score the goal to knock Atletico out.

I think they'll walk the Bundesliga again. It's not that they're suddenly shit, just that better teams can and will punish them if they're not ruthless in attack and the opposition is organised. Their defence is weak and fairly slow so teams like Real can have a field day if they're clinical. Bayern will still destroy plenty of weaker sides and the league.

They'll still win it but unless Pep freshens a thing or two then they're going to be dealt a few more blows next year IMO. Tiki taka at its best is excellent and Barcelona a few years ago were unreal, they could get away with it every single game because they were that good at it - this Bayern side has two things going against it that Pep's Barcelona didn't have. The first is that we've become more used to it and that teams are sussing how to counter it (which is why Real won so comprehensively, they've been building sides around beating it), the second is that Bayern don't have Xavi, Iniesta, Messi and the others who were the masters of it. I wouldn't write Dortmund off completely. I fancy them to come back stronger next year.

Both sides are defensively formidable, whoever scores first will play on the counter with a lot of men behind the ball - obviously away goals mean a lot but if Chelsea score first they'll shut up shop.
