ScouseFox Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 this is amazing, they've suddenly decided to start getting crosses into the box now they've taken their big centre forward off and have nobody to even challenge for it
Grandad. Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Twenty odd passes there in the final third of Reals half and it leads to Robben shooting from 20 yards..
MC Prussian Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Could it be that Bayern's recent slump is down to a lack of fitness? They became Bundesliga title holders so early on during the season and gone a bit off the boil ever since. I think Guardiola's tough training regime is finally taking its toll.

I'd argue more that it'd be a lack of sharpness - since the title was sewn up they've rotated the squad a lot so the regulars haven't had much playing time
Grandad. Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 A year ago Bayern battered the Spanish Champions 7-0 over two games and now they 5-0 down with 30 minutes to go to Real Madrid.. Don't worry though, they won the Bundesliga earlier than last season.

Barcelona's fitness regime under Guardiola always focused on ensuring the squad fitness peaked at the most important stages of the season. In Spain that was before the winter break and then again for the run-in.

AKCJ Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Twenty odd passes there in the final third of Reals half and it leads to Robben shooting from 20 yards.. Swap "Reals" to Chelsea's and "Robben" to Gerrard and you have a one sentence summary of the game on Sunday.
notnow john Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 No doubting Pep will improve the Bayern team next season, I'm sure he's still got Dr Fuentes' number. I've heard they hide their phones in strange places where he resides at the moment.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Hmm... First season with Bayern and the players not used to it fully, still trying to find their individual peak maybe? Yep, possibly. I'm wary of making snap judgments based on a couple of games to be honest. They've had a mare in this tie but they're still a top quality team, just as Barca were when similar happened to them last year.

You're not suggesting that 2 games (against a side that spent absolutely shit loads in the summer) gives a better insight to a sides capabilities than an entire season are you?
The Horse's Mouth Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 This reminds me of us under Sousa. with vieri up top.

Guardiola spent 22 years at Barcelona as a player and manager and has gotten to know that club so well. It's a tough ask to implement a similarly well-oiled system in an entirely different environment in the space of a meagre 11, 12 months, I guess.

It's a ridiculous overeaction really, he'll want to implement his own style and that will take a couple of years. We know that here. Not going to write the bloke off because he's lost a semi final to another fantastic team.
Grandad. Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Swap "Reals" to Chelsea's and "Robben" to Gerrard and you have a one sentence summary of the game on Sunday. for once you're not wrong. You're not suggesting that 2 games (against a side that spent absolutely shit loads in the summer) gives a better insight to a sides capabilities than an entire season are you? No, I am just digging that Bayern have declined under Pep, the Bayern last season don't lose this game 5-0 in 180 minutes.
Manwell Pablo Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Oh dear, best fans in the world leaving in their droves with 10 to play.
ScouseFox Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 this final is going to be decent. either real/atletico or real/mourinho. woo hoo. Oh dear, best fans in the world leaving in their droves with 10 to play. #loyalsupportaz
Fox92 Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Oh dear, best fans in the world leaving in their droves with 10 to play. P lastics.
Corky Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Oh dear, best fans in the world leaving in their droves with 10 to play. I thought that was Portsmouth?
Dan Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 What the hell is that song Bayern fans sing. I hear it every time they play, proper catchy tune that ends in what sounds like "FCBEEEEEEEEEEEE". Never heard it from any other club.
Dan Posted 29 April 2014 Posted 29 April 2014 Ancelotti doesn't seem to be getting much credit for this. If it was Mourinho half the globe would have disappeared up his back passage by now. Well said. He's a class manager.

(skip to 0:55) If so no I don't think anyone else sings a song to a Twister Sisters tune, unsurprisingly.
