FrankieADZ Posted 2 May 2014 Posted 2 May 2014 It was great at the time but anyone who says Goldeneye has stood the test of time needs new glasses. i'd have to agree with you there....the games looks havent aged well....not surprised at all tbh....we did have to play it on them old TV....often with alot smaller screens would be interesting to see what it would look like if someone put the Rare version(not that remake one) into the new Unreal $ engine to see what it would look like

N64 had so many industry defining games like Mario 64 and Zelda Ocarina of Time. but this convo needs to stop or move as we are chatting in the PS4 vs XBOX One thread

Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 2 May 2014 Posted 2 May 2014 Going to wait for the 100th update putting in yet more things that should of been there at launch before I invest in one. So likely this time next year. Goldeneye was a pretty defining game, no doubt, but to go back and play it now is painful. All the 3D games on the N64 and PS1 just look abysmal, to the point where the enjoyment of playing them is greatly diminished. Some 2d games from 10 years previous to that generation still look great.

Just from knowing the sheer enjoyment these games gave me as a child i will always love them even if i pick up and play them now. Final Fantasy 7 looks terrible compared to todays RPGs but it will always be one of the best RPGs ever made. I havent played Goldeneye again but im sure i would love it just like back in the day.

Also Hearing that GTA V PS4 will be unveilved at E3.

I use my Vita for remote play and its class. playing fifa whilst taking a dump is quite rewarding

Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 12 May 2014 Posted 12 May 2014 Getting a PS4 after E3(unless MS just hits it out the park at E3 and Sony balls it) Got 6-7 (I think) games backed up on PS+ ready to play out the box. Found one for £299 so thought now's the right time, with a few big titles due out later in the summer and a catalogue to play that should last a few months. Might as well take the plunge. Was tempted by an Xbox One but then thought....
