Slow, lackadaisical and missed a couple of very good chances Is more like it from previous poster...He's been average at best since middle of last season...I really am missing something!!

Other than miss a couple of good chances, I thought he played well yesterday. Probably bar Vardy ran more than any other player. So, to accuse him of being 'lackadaisical' is baffling.

So, to accuse him of being 'lackadaisical' is baffling. His workrate was as apparent as ever but as I said in my ratings, it cannot excuse such a technically poor display. His first touch and shooting boots had completely deserted him. For me it would be like rating Moore a 7 if he had put a shift in but missed a series of staple headers to provide Wigan with clear cut chances, you just can't excuse it even with high work rate.

His movement off the ball was pretty good too, you don't get the 3/4 excellent opportunities he had by chance. Dreadful decision making and/or execution in the final 3rd though.

Stadt Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 I agree Nuge looked poor yesterday, shooting was dreadful and so was his passing, the penalty was close to being saved as well. I really hope he gets back on form!

It was a terrific all round team performance and (hopefully) a good sign of what NP is trying to achieve with his football philosophy. If we play like this on a regular basis we will get promotion , and this league is very competitive so this would be an absolutely brilliant achievement .

I didn't suggest that because he ran a lot, this means he played well. I was pointing it out because his performance was described as 'lackadaisical' which means lazy and disinterested. He was neither.

leicesterseddon Posted 15 September 2013 Posted 15 September 2013 I was disappointed with the impact that Dyer and Knockaert made yesterday, but I still believe we look better when we set up with 2 'proper' wingers in the midfield - although neither was spectacular, they played their part in stretching the Wigan midfield and opening the game up a bit more for Drinkwater and King, who I thought came forward a lot more yesterday than they usually do. Stand-out performance, as others have said, was from Moore.

Pretty sure they say a Leicester clean sheet and they put Schmeichel and Morgan in the team. Drinkwater had the best game I've seen him have for at least eleven months yesterday. A couple of great passes.
