iamafox Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 Bolton are in deep trouble at the moment and what do they do to try to get out of it? Sign another one of our 'fringe' players. But will he stand out for them? Time will tell.
Dan Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 Good post, totally agree. The current manager feels he has better options so it makes sense for the player to go on loan. Plebs on here have become obsessed with the so called big wages players are supposed to be on. Makes me laugh as most are 5-10k above what in reality our players are on. Still they read it in the Leic Berk so it must be true. This Fanny fair play saga is fecking things up at most clubs. Yet again the clubs with big money and power will find a way around it whilst smaller clubs such as us will struggle or use it as an excuse for not being successful. I'm convinced we are another Cov city waiting to happen Then all the plebs will be wishing we still had the likes of Danns, Beckford et al. Or we've just accepted that you can't actually ignore FFP and continue to over-spend at the rate we were doing on players who couldn't give a shit about the club or players who never even play, in some cases both. Danns is of no use to us now. He's behind James, Drinkwater, King, Hammond and I'd honestly rather see how Cain does than use him now too, and he's on a wage that attracted him here over a Premier League club despite being at an age where it'd effectively have been his last chance to ever get in the Premier League. The only way we'd be a 'Cov City waiting to happen' is if we kept pretending that players like Mills, Beckford & Danns were anything other than liabilities.
Jace Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 Even Pearson wanted him at Hull when they were pressing for promotion
Jobyfox Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 I must admit that it baffles me that, even now, so many people still rate Neil Danns. Admittedly he did have a decent run in our side when he was influential in a number of games. He's better than a lower end Championship midfielder, but shouldn't be considered for a side with realistic aspirations of promotion. When fit he does have good energy, runs around a lot and has a decent eye for goal. It is, however, laughable to call him a tough tackling or ball winning midfielder. He's far too lightweight to be a holding midfielder and doesn't have anywhere near enough quality to be described as a creative midfielder. Probably a bit better than a "headless chicken", but the cliché "box to box" would probably be the pinnacle of any accolades that you could afford him. Pearson has been heavily criticised for off-loading the likes of Mills, Beckford and Danns, but for all three he’s been spot on as far as I’m concerned. For their high wages it’s a no brainer, but let’s not get distracted by this. Even if all three were eminently affordable then they would still not be any better than moderately useful squad players.
Corky Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 Then all the plebs will be wishing we still had the likes of Danns, Beckford et al. Not really, I'd hope we kept Kasper, Nugent, Morgan, King, Drinkwater. EDIT: And Knocky, obviously!
indierich06 Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 Plebs on here have become obsessed with the so called big wages players are supposed to be on. Makes me laugh as most are 5-10k above what in reality our players are on. Still they read it in the Leic Berk so it must be true. And how do you know exactly what each of our players is on? Is this more of Cuddly Ken's insider knowledge - tell me again, why are Kasper and Morgan still at the club after you stated they definitely wouldn't be here after the summer transfer window? And plebs? Who are you, Andrew Mitchell?
mhs123 Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 Hope he has packed his guitar and amp set,His music is as poor as his passing ability.
5waller5 Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 I liked Danns ...... but he doesn't feature now and doesn't look like he will .... so a good move for both parties. I also think it's a decent signing for Bolton if they need some grit and energy in the midfield.
indierich06 Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 I also think it's a decent signing for Bolton if they need some grit and energy in the midfield. Not if they need someone who can pass a ball or make a tackle though!
Guest Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 Not if they need someone who can pass a ball or make a tackle though! And to be fair you can pick up grit a lot cheaper
leicesterlad1989 Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 And to be fair you can pick up grit a lot cheaper Yeah there giving it away in a big yellow box on my street..
ollielawrence Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 Ken (Cuddles) please spouting rubbish... Nothing you have said has ever been right!! Your just attention grabbing and finally a few on fhis forum are noticing. Your coming across very badly
ian1984summer Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 Bl00dy hell, they must be desperate. Quick.....what else can we dump on them? I may have an inflatable dartboard lying around somewhere....... seriously? been looking for one for ages. name your price and ill take it off your hands! alsotrying to get hold of some tartan paint if anyone knows where I can get it?
gerrytaggart Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 Hope he gets regular games and finds form with them. Good luck Neil "Lee" Danns.
LCFC FOX Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 While he is on loan and contracted to out club I wish him well at Bolton and hope he fights for a place
5waller5 Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 Not if they need someone who can pass a ball or make a tackle though! I think we are remembering a very rusty player bought in for one or two performances where the team were woeful on those days .... Looking back to when he was playing regularly he was half decent for us in fact during that half a season in 2012 he was consistently our best player. Now it's just best for him to move on as he clearly hasn't got a future here...
phillo Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 hope he does alright might take him in jan fingers crossed
Dr The Singh Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 A player does not turn bad overnight, let's hope he does well for them and get his career on track. Overall a good move for him and us, I can't understand the negativity!
Kitchandro Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 People have there lcfc goggles on tight for this one. Danns is a decent championship player just ask palace or huddesfield fans he just hasn't had a run in the first team for getting on for a year. And it's funny people using his youtube song to mock him: 1. Who gives a flying **** about that 2. I could dig posts up from when he first signed where people were going over board loving his music to be fair, it's all a bit cringe worthy. Anyway seems like a decent chap that got him self some of those Sven era wages which was probably a big factor why he has been frozen out completely. I think that sums it up Why the **** would we ask Palace and Huddersfield fans (relegation strugglers the both of them when he was in their side) when we've seen him with our own eyes for a season and a bit? And what did he do for them anyway?
Kitchandro Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 Hope he gets regular games and finds form with them. Good luck Neil "Lee" Danns. I hope he plays shit there and drops even further down the league ladder.
Guest MattP Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 I hope he plays shit there and drops even further down the league ladder. Same. On a side note does anyone have a copy of Dannzy's track "Survive" - It was going to be released in March 2010 and was with Liverpool rapper KOF. I've heard it's one of his best. BUDDING musician Neil Danns is set to release his first single in the next month - which could make him a hit both on and off the pitch. The Crystal Palace midfielder is currently studying a video editing and production course at the London Academy of Media, Film and TV. Danns has always had a passion for music. But what was once a hobby is now turning into a serious project which he feels can run alongside his playing career. The 27-year-old already has a MySpace music section on the internet where he is singing covers of songs by Kings Of Leon and Beyonce - with team-mates Calvin Andrew and Ryan Smith guesting on other tracks. But Danns is about to take an even bigger step when he releases his first single Survive, which he has written himself and performs with Liverpudlian rapper Kof. “We’ve filmed the video and the song should be out in the next five weeks,†said the Toxteth-raised goal-getter. “It is saying we don’t know how the world is going to survive with the war, recession and poverty. “Ever since I was young I’ve written my own little bits of music and I come from a musical family. “My dad sang in the Eurovision Song Contest - which I think he gets a bit embarrassed about - and my uncle played in one of the first black British bands around the Liverpool scene in the 1970s." http://www.southlondonpress.co.uk/news.cfm?id=2357&y=2010

He's not going to feature here at City. It's best for both parties if he gets a new start.

DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 26 September 2013 Posted 26 September 2013 I am sorry Danns is off, and not like to feature for us again, but I guess a fresh start at a new club is the best for both parties. I'm not going to grumble, or moan at Pearson, but I had hoped he had a future here. Never thought I would say it, but Mr.P. is doing well, so I will be backing him to do what's best. Let's just hope he can be a little inspirational this term, and plaster over some of the cracks in his make up. I remain unconvinced, but I will be behind him, at least.
