shen Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 That would be pretty impressive, given he isn't German and isn't eligible. He's expressed a desire to play for Albania, he's probably weighing that up against the prospect of never playing in a major tournament. I'm sure it was meant as an ill-informed swipe at Team 'Multi-Kulti', and not an actual suggestion he'll pick them.
Stadt Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 For me if your parents are English or at least one of them is you're English
Guest MattP Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 What is "English"... is it, Mum and Dad Born there? Conceived there? - lets be honest if conception is the start of life (not trying to start an abortion discussion) then a couple of french kids ****ing on a weekend break can conceive the next Bobby Moore. Born there? - I had a friend in the forces who had a child when stationed in Germany and Italy - are those kids Germans..Italians? Bred there? - My family moved here when i was 7, I grew up in OZ, am i Australian? (also applies if your parents move you to Nottingham etc) Live there? - I earn my living, pay my tax and work for my community in OZ... am i Australian? the current FIFA rules arent perfect, but they cant be, especially in the modern era. You're a vegetarian so I'd just class you as a bit of a poof.
Jimmy Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 He's played one gane... Let's see how he performs over the season before jizzing over another wonderkid. Aside from that, he's not English - call me old fashioned, but I think our national team should be made up of English nationals. Waiting for the PC brigade to follow up... neither Graeme Le Saux or John Barnes were "English", every other country on the planet does this, I have no problem with it, until FIFA change the rules to country of birth only play by the rules, if he's good enough and eligible, pick him. Bet none of you bat an eyelid at the England cricket team, half of which were born in South Africa

Guest shearfox Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 It would seem the agreement between the home nations could destroy this, if anything this rule leaves us with a big handicap, other nations do this a lot.
Dan Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 To be fair to Januzaj, I've heard plenty of very good things about this lad before. For well over a year I've heard him getting absolutely rave reviews and the media may be right on this one. It's their mentality that annoys me though. I guarantee most of these idiots saying he'll be the next 'world class' legend of the game hadn't even heard of the ****er 6 months ago. He'll be better than Macheda but the over-hyping and over-reaction is hilarious and extremely typical of everyone.

Last time I checked cricket teams didn't have four players.
theessexfox Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 Who could Le Saux play for? Half? Pietersen and Trott? Last time I checked cricket teams didn't have four players. Prior? Strauss? (I know he's retired)
Guest MattP Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 Prior? Strauss? (I know he's retired) Prior actually is isn't he? He and KP qualify through parentage anyway though.

Neither. A British military installation abroad is classed as British soil, like an embassy.

Orkneyfox Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 He's from Guernsey, who else was he going to play for? France?
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 8 October 2013 Posted 8 October 2013 i dont think he's even THAT good. it's only cos his name begins and starts with a J, pronounced as a Y and that he will be pub quiz gold in a few years that he is getting rave reviews. Zsolt Lackzo yeah i went and said it No kid is "THAT" good at 18, but he will be, eventually. Bit different to Zsolt n the sense that this kid has come through arguably the best club in the world and is rated as a special talent by practically everybody there...
Guest MattP Posted 9 October 2013 Posted 9 October 2013 Just been reading about Diego Costa. Made his debut for Brazil in March and will be playing for Spain next week
Vardinhio Posted 9 October 2013 Posted 9 October 2013 Neither. A British military installation abroad is classed as British soil, like an embassy. not true

Maybe my initial reaction was a bit too much but to say he's the next Messi or whatever they are saying is just insane at this stage. I don't like hype either. Refuse to believe in it
