kingfox Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 Giggs, because I don't recall him ever diving like Tom Daley.
xHamzah Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 Which Welsh wizard would you rather have whizzing down the wing? Based on this, I'd say Bale. Giggs is a fantastic player who probably even has more ability but lets not forget Bale has carried a team and is a game changing player.
The Year Of The Fox Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 Bale. Giggs is pure quality but I think bale has a better killer instinct and more of a scoring threat.
Beliall Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 bale in spurs.....bale scores lots giggs in spurs...everyone scores lots.
notnow john Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 I'm sorry but I hate arguments like that. Giggs was playing for United, of course he's won more than most players. It's a team game. Don't get me wrong, I love Giggs, one of my favourite ever players. I also accept it's much of a muchness, but Giggs'medal haul is irrelevant. ... So is how many times they've been in the PFA team of the year. Of course it matters what they've won, everything else is subjective!
Fox92 Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 Fox92 in "thinks the guy from before his time is better than the present" shock. Giggs is such a great professional though. Of course it matters what they've won, everything else is subjective! Of course Trophies matter, but they don't define how good a player is imo. Did you rate Matt Le Tissier? I certainly did, great player. Did he ever win anything? No. That doesn't mean he's a bad player though (or worse than other players).
Stadt Posted 29 November 2013 Posted 29 November 2013 Giggs turns 40 today. Which Welsh wizard would you rather have whizzing down the wing? A young Ryan Giggs or Gareth Bale now? And when was Giggs at his peak? Normally players peak around 28 years old but is this true of Giggs? Don't think Giggs has ever done that, been the stand out player, the one who totally blows away a team all on his own, even for the great Man Utd sides.

riff Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 La Liga Real Madrid's Santiago Bernabeu Stadium home support Ronaldo still hanging around sharp banners and photos, but Real Madrid fans cheer yesterday to enjoy all summer, but it is European football transfer standard king Gareth Bale. While Ronaldo sidelined through injury, he finally showed the world that his value. He embodies the values of Real Madrid. http://www.footballtshirtuk.com/Real-Madrid-Shirt.html Real Madrid's rout of the tournament in a row. Despite the lack of Ronaldo, but Carlo Ancelotti's team has harvested a most horrible Gareth Bale, Florentino € 91 million transfer fee no white.
Fox92 Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 Sorry has 20 years passed? Stop being a dick, think I countered that with a decent response. At the end of his career, Bale won't be as decorated as Giggs is. I doubt Bale will still be playing for a top club at 40 also. (I'm not doubting he is a good player, he obviously is).
Jimothy Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 At the end of his career, Bale won't be as decorated as Giggs is. I doubt Bale will still be playing for a top club at 40 also. (I'm not doubting he is a good player, he obviously is). Well firstly, I think we've already established you can't really use team honours to compare individual players. Djimi Troare has more champions league medals than Leyton Baines. Tom Cleverley more premier league titles than Steven Gerrard. Secondly not many players will ever be as decorated as Ryan Giggs, in terms of team honours anyway, does that make him the greatest player ever? Does it bollocks. Thirdly in terms of Player of the Year, Team of the Year etc type honours Bale is well on the way to matching Giggs. Obviously he won't win anymore in this country for a while, though. Obviously he'll never match Giggs in the type of sentimental bullshit awards like SPOTY which Giggs should not have win in 2009 but overly zealous Man Utd fan decided that years award should be a lifetime achievement award instead, but they're not really important. Bale might not be playing for a top club at 40, but then Messi probably won't, neither will Ronaldo, neither was Zidane, or Scholes, or Ronaldinho, or Rivaldo, but they could all out forward a case for being better than Giggs. I admire Giggs' longevity, and for reinventing himself, but I'm not sure why that's such a high weighing factor in this discussion.
Charl91 Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 If Bale can be consistent for the next few years, then he'll probably be a better than Giggs was.
Stadt Posted 4 December 2013 Posted 4 December 2013 I was taking the piss out of pride_of_the_midlands about Gerrard
Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 24 May 2014 Author Posted 24 May 2014 Have you ever seen Ryan Giggs score the decisive goal in the Champions League final?
foxes_rule1978 Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 Giggsy, but Bale certainly has the potential to surpass him
Jon the Hat Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 To score that header after missing three good chance is exceptional.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 24 May 2014 Posted 24 May 2014 It is unfortunate that he is welsh because he will never play at any major international tournaments...

foxes_rule1978 Posted 25 May 2014 Posted 25 May 2014 2016, we're going further than England. Fact. That would mean they would have to get to at least the semi final, can't see it and bar Ramsey and Bale every other player is average at best...
