Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I think we will gain just as many new haters tbh
pSinatra Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Yes where were all today's fans in 1987/88 when the biggest gate of the season 13852 bloody plastics. I seem to have got my support arse-way-round. I don't get to go to many games these days, but I was there come rain or shine, home & away during the late 70s, 80s & 90s. I don't see what the problem is with people supporting Leicester City......in whatever capacity that may be. It's got to be good for the club. You know what the club means to you, regardless of what anyone else thinks. I've never understood the snobbery & the dick waving contest that is being a 'real' fan. I'm probably now considered plastic because I only manage a few games a season. I've already earnt my stripes!!
Stadt Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 How are we going to become more massive without plastics?

Agreed, I only get to maybe 10 games a month, partly by choice (I value time with my family and friends over watching a match) partly not (children and work commitments. I've been following city for 25 years - a lot longer than some of the young ens here who spout how good a fan they are because mom and dad bought them a season ticket for 3 years running but prior to their balls dropping were Man U fans. I dont care who comes and supports from arm chair or in the stands, week in week out or just for the big games, who cares, it's not a competition.

Quorndon_Fox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 A workmate of mine (and Derby fan) pointed out the other day that we're top of the league and still cant fill the stadium (based on the boro attendance), its laughable to say we have plastic fans. However premier league could be a different story if we go up.

However premier league could be a different story if we go up. Ironically, there were many on here taking the piss out of Cardiff for that very same reason last year.
Corky Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 10 games a month is good going. Far more than the rest of us manage.

However premier league could be a different story if we go up. That's beyond the point. Aren't all teams struggling with the same issue, though? An average attendance of 23'000 to 24'000 per game is still pretty impressive, it must lift us to fourth or third in that particular ranking.
suffolk fox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I know one thing for certain if we do get promoted to the premiership next season loads of Manure, Chelski, Arsenal fans will buy season tickets at our stadium in order to watch premier league footie next season. Happened last time we made the premier league. I sat next to two of them in the kop at Filbert st. Both were Manure fans who lived in Leicester!

I'm probably now considered plastic because I only manage a few games a season. I've already earnt my stripes!! I'm in my late twenties and grew up outside of Leicester. The only two seasons I've had a season ticket are in our relegation season (to League 1) and then our promotion season that followed. I think this technically means I've only had a season ticket in the worse two seasons in our history
Soar Fox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 A bloke at work yesterday said that if we get promoted this season he'll buy him and his lad a season ticket. I asked him if we don't get promotion will he still buy a season ticket, his response was no. If we do get promotion I imagine we'll have a lot of people like that down the KP next season.

Blanesta Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 3 years old probably not even understanding who Leicester were Well if that is the case I think we should ban all 3 year olds! I don't know who they think they are!
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 A fan is a fan whatever material they're made from
promised land Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 We'd easily get 30,000 every game if we made the prem. It's been 10 years!! Money is tighter now and ticket prices are stupidly high compared to then, but yes I reckon more season tickets will be sold. Our owners aren't stupid, they might clump games together for match by match ticket sales like Blackpool (IIRC) did a few seasons ago, so not only are the big guns games sell outs but to see them you have to buy a ticket for lower league teams. Eg. Man Utd, Fulham,Stoke sold as a three match ticket and not separate. No disrespect to Fulham or Stoke BTW. That way they should sell most seats, but then again the first season back might have enough demand anyway. Let's get there first though!
Bagworthblue Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Back in 1990 I didn't know many players names and didn't really have a clue about football, but I gave it a chance and I am still a regular now. We want new fans. There are very few negatives of new fans, apart from having to queue longer for a pie at halftime, and many positives. So give them a few games to find their feet !! this
johnny the fox Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 I was made in Hong Kong does that count?
Alexikokopops Posted 28 January 2014 Posted 28 January 2014 Anti-plastics are the worst. Don't worry, I'm well and truly a PAP now
