MattFox Posted 3 March 2014 Posted 3 March 2014 I could see either brighton or ipswich making a late run and taking the tree's play off place. Apart from qpr they seem the most vulnerable due to injuries and they allways wobble around March time under Davies

Mark_from_USA Posted 3 March 2014 Posted 3 March 2014 Your form prediction is 104. I want to see 107. I want Leicester to take Reading's points record. Selfish of me, I know. But, incredibly, its doable, and quite possible. It will probably take a win at either Wigan or Burnley to do it though. That's a big ask, but maybe, if they are on their game those days....

I'd like that too, and while it is doable, it will be incredibly difficult to achieve. Unless we are as good as we appear to be that is !!
Guest Posted 4 March 2014 Posted 4 March 2014 I'd have thought we have a good chance to beat both Burnley and Wigan. They'll be playing to win, not park the bus, they'll have massive pressure on them too. We play well against attacking teams. 6 pts for the City.
Bagworthblue Posted 5 March 2014 Posted 5 March 2014 Another interesting angle is to look at how many wins are needed for promotion. Historically... 2012/13 top 25 2nd 24 2011/12 top 27 2nd 26 2010/11 top 24 2nd 23 2009/10 top 30 2nd 26 2008/09 top 27 2nd 23 This would indicate 3 more wins from our current 23 would normally see a team promoted. Only 2 more if you take the average number of wins from the list above. Naturally it assumes a % of non wins will be draws but to throw it away now, we would have to fail to win 3 of the games and lose most of the rest. Suppose the points total tells you this but thought it would be interesting to look at it from a 'wins needed' perspective
Smudge Posted 5 March 2014 Posted 5 March 2014 Not sure if you want me to keep this going on here or not but here is my latest version

I think these fixtures are as likely as any to appear again on our schedule next year.

davieG Posted 5 March 2014 Posted 5 March 2014 Not sure if you want me to keep this going on here or not but here is my latest version So if I've understood this correctly from the remaining 13 games to get 90 points LCFC need 5 W + 1 D Burnley need 8 W Derby need 9 W 2 D

Ribbo Posted 6 March 2014 Posted 6 March 2014 If your missing the BBC predictor hopefully the link below will give you something at least! If it works that is... https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B5454GMshwaQR3VsTVRjS0tPR3M/edit?usp=sharing I realize its far from perfect but it's something. Won't work as a game by game table predictor but for final positions for the season it should do a job. Should be able to download it by following the link.
MooseBreath Posted 8 March 2014 Posted 8 March 2014 Based on season form we now only need another 11 points to secure promotion
sdb Posted 8 March 2014 Posted 8 March 2014 Top 4 place secured. Still think it's about us getting to 90 points. Only then will I start to consider the Premier League. Just hope we get max points this week as April looks tough to me.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 8 March 2014 Posted 8 March 2014 I fookin love this thread, keep up the great work! Interested to see the impact of Direby and Red Shite losing today COYB
Paulmot Posted 8 March 2014 Posted 8 March 2014 As of today 100 points now guarantees promotion. So from 13 games we need to average 2 points exactly. As other teams drop points so the total required comes down. Slowly but surely. If we could get 6 points from the next 2 games I believe we will only need 12 more after that.
Deucalion Posted 8 March 2014 Author Posted 8 March 2014 Just got back from walking the wammels and cannot believe Barnsley beat Forest, and more importantly, Millwall beat Derby. This puts us in a fantastic position for promotion. Will work it out later.
