Babylon Posted 10 February 2014 Posted 10 February 2014 Exactly FOXS NEVER QUIT Unless they slated Pearson and we are doing well... in which case they quit here for a while.
AnotherShitSeason Posted 10 February 2014 Posted 10 February 2014 Nope, season ticket, behind me all year. Him and his mates constantly attack nugent and vardy, i couldve understood nugent but how you could attack vardy astonishes me. Turn round & say hello next time. The Werther's Originals are on me.
Bluetintedspecs Posted 10 February 2014 Posted 10 February 2014 Turn round & say hello next time. The Werther's Originals are on me. A S S now I know you've got the Werthers I want to sit near you!
KIRBYFOX93 Posted 10 February 2014 Posted 10 February 2014 I go to every game so I have a valid opinion on dyer. he has one good game ever 5 matches. Mahrez has so much more to offer.
foxfanazer Posted 10 February 2014 Posted 10 February 2014 I go to every game so I have a valid opinion on dyer. he has one good game ever 5 matches. Mahrez has so much more to offer. So we must've played about 80 games this season then
Guest Col city fan Posted 10 February 2014 Posted 10 February 2014 I go to every game so I have a valid opinion on dyer. he has one good game ever 5 matches. Mahrez has so much more to offer. This post kinda sums up what I'm saying. You're entitled to your opinion mate but Lloyd Dyer has been ever present in a team sitting comfortably on top of the division. He's one of our leading goal scorers and assisters of goals. Mahrez may prove to be great, but remains an unproven young player at this level. The one thing I would say however, about Lloyd is he is pretty much all pace. If teams continue to double up on him throughout the rest of the season, we may not see him being as prolofic as he has been. However, his performances thus far this season have been pretty much exemplary.
Hungry Hungry Fox Posted 11 February 2014 Posted 11 February 2014 I go to every game so I have a valid opinion on dyer. he has one good game ever 5 matches. Mahrez has so much more to offer. He has been one of our best players this season, at times he is unplayable, obviously if teams stick 2 or 3 players on him he's going to struggle a bit but you can never fault his effort and commitment
Bert Posted 11 February 2014 Posted 11 February 2014 I go to every game so I have a valid opinion on dyer. he has one good game ever 5 matches. Mahrez has so much more to offer. I've been to every game too. How you can say Mahrez has more to offer after 3 cameo appearances compared to Lloyd's 5+ years here is a bit strange. I could understand if Mahrez had started a game for us, but that's not happened yet. Certainly at the moment Dyer offers much more, but more so because he knows a lot more about the team and the players he plays with than Mahrez.
5waller5 Posted 11 February 2014 Posted 11 February 2014 Dyer is inconsistant shocker!!! He's had the season of his career .... unplayable is no exaggeration. Nobody can keep that up for a whole season and least of all Dyer who is known for his inconsistency. Boggy pitches are never going to be the friend of a pacey winger too!! We really should sort the bloke a contract out though - he stands more chance of getting his head down and getting his form back if he doesn't have anything to worry about.
Guest MattP Posted 11 February 2014 Posted 11 February 2014 We really should sort the bloke a contract out though - he stands more chance of getting his head down and getting his form back if he doesn't have anything to worry about. Surely striving to earn a contract would be the best way? Players like Gallagher, SSL, Danns etc had nothing to worry about because of long term big contracts and it didn't result in getting a head down and gaining some form.
foxes1988 Posted 11 February 2014 Posted 11 February 2014 I think with football fans there seems to be i thought that because i am a fan i can think and demand what i want from our players. I often find myself having to bite my lip with some of our fans comments. I.e. from the Watford game there was a fan near my moaning about Dyer from the beginning of the second half as he was lazy and wasn't running at the defence like we know he can. Then when Mahrez came he was finally happy as 'Mahrez will run at them'. Mahrez then tried to take on Watfords full back twice but got tackled both times so this 'Fan' stood up and started shouting and moaning at 'Mahrez'. I personally did agree Dyer wasn't having his best game, mainly because the way Watford were sitting back not because he was playing poorly or being lazy, but that kind of hypocritical idiot we can do without imo.

Yeah you could look at it like that .... But with Lloyd surely he's worked hard for long enough now and earned that contract?? He's probably thinking now, what have i got to do to prove that I'm worth it .... and it might have reached the point where it's demotivating.

He's probably thinking now, what have i got to do to prove that I'm worth it .... and it might have reached the point where it's demotivating. He has earned a contract I agree, however no room for sentiment in football and if Nigel is in a position where he doesn't believe he is good enough for the top flight then he won't get one, personally I think he's waiting to judge until the summer and I don't blame him for that. Harsh obviously on Lloyd of that was the case but in our climate and with FFP completely necessary for any football club.
foxes1988 Posted 11 February 2014 Posted 11 February 2014 Didn't we offer him a contract but he wants a longer one? I think the reasoning behind only offering a short term contract is that we are never going to get lots for him and if he loses are yard or two of his pace it would render him almost useless to us (esp if we are in the Prem). All this just give him and contract talk seems to be based purely on past performance rather then potential future performance. I agree he has earnt a bit of leeway and loyalty from us but at the same time we have to run a sensible football club in all aspects not just on transfer fees and wages. Clubs interests are more important then Lloyd's for me.
5waller5 Posted 11 February 2014 Posted 11 February 2014 I agree with both sentiment points and the need to only think about the future .... But surely if one of your top 5-6 players is out of contract then keep him .... He's good enough right now for the side and is one of the first name's on the team sheet. I don't think we'd have predicted that last season even - so don't let him slip away for the sake of sorting a contract. Unless he wants daft money of course!
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 11 February 2014 Posted 11 February 2014 I genuinely couldn't believe some of what I was reading on the forum last night. We are still riding high, top of the table in a hard-fought championship. And a draw at home. Yet, some were accusing us of not putting in any effort? There were threads also, criticising Nugent and questioning Dyer. Now I'm no happy clapper , but some of what was written last night really made me wonder where some of our fans are coming from and what would make them happy? Yesterdays game was a tough, scrappy affair. I personally have no qualms in Watford's negative tactics. They were playing the top side, in us, and did what they could do to keep us out. It was a decent draw, in awkward conditions, which keeps the pressure on the chasing pack. We are in a great position (who genuinely would have predicted such a lead, before Christmas?), yet there is still moaning clearly going on. Now is the time to stay positive, get behind the lads completely and continue to take games one at a time. We may well have a blip. If we do, keep believing that the same squad who got us into this position are the ones who can take us up. Spot on again, Col.

Unless he wants daft money of course!I can't see Dyer leaving after this season, either. He clearly loves it at Leicester and has discovered the form of a lifetime. I'd be very happy to see him stick around for another year or two (or as long as he still has that pace on him). Same goes for the others that have put in an extra shift or two this season.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 11 February 2014 Posted 11 February 2014 Two nil down last season, at the same stage and we would have lost for sure. The character the side has now got, speaks volumes. It is never over until the "Fat Lady Sings". We had a poorish day, but the come back was magnificent. A certain sign of guts and quality in that last ten minutes or so.

Spot on DT, what's your reaction to the reaction about the reaction to Cols thread?
Bayfox Posted 11 February 2014 Posted 11 February 2014 Sad to see some of the reactions on here. Are our fans mental or just looking for a reaction? Watford couldn't believe they went one up. 2!! Well they almost creamed their pants. Then the manager went into typical Italian mode. 9 men not just behind the ball but stationed 30 yards from their goal. Had we scored with 20 or even 10 to go we would have got 3 points. They couldn't change their game plan. We had 2 chances to win even after the equaliser.
5waller5 Posted 11 February 2014 Posted 11 February 2014 Maybe I'm not looking in the right place .... but I didn't see any reactions .... anyone want to point me in the right direction to the over the top reactions??
demon_dog Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Watford's game plan was to put two players onto our wingers whenever they got the ball. (As stated by one of their players). This clearly worked as Dyer and Knocky also to a point De Leat struggled. This game plan nearly paid off. Just hope no other managers pick up on this and use it as their game plan.
seenitall Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 It seems strange that people are moaning now (I am certainly not, only about being on moderator review) - I was only moaning because we have seemed incapable of being like we are now for much of the Pearson second spell - I must be alone in being unhappy when we are crap and happy when we are playing well - I wish I could be happy when we are shite or unhappy when we are doing well but I just can't do it
Fridge lcfc Posted 12 February 2014 Posted 12 February 2014 Dyer was practically marked out of the game on Saturday, and with a bit of fatigue kicking in, he wasn't his usual effective self. However with the 10 Day gap for him to recover, I think he will be back to his usual self attacking the wing with his almost unstoppable pace. Wouldn't play mahrez ahead of him but would be prepared to swap at half time if dyer is ineffective.

Or Nigel has to come up with Plan B and C if our usual strategy isn't working. He has really got to earn his corn in the next few months
