sdb Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Agree, although I also understand that as Leicester fans we are conditioned to expect the worst and that every game between now and the end of the season where we drop points will result in mass hysteria
LCCFox96 Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 I think most would have taken a point having gone 0-2 down. Not often teams recover from that especially given watford's defensive tactics (which they were entitled to do - predictable with an Italian in charge too). On that basis it was a solid performance and a determined last 15 minutes or so saved us. In terms of points we won't know until Monday night if it's a point gained or two points dropped. Worst case scenario is we remain 9 clear of the pack and QPR win at derby and best case scenario is they loose and burnley have cut our lead on them to 11 points. Hardly massively disappointing reading either way. Everyone wanted 3 points yesterday and it would have been nice to get the 10th win in a row but we have to be realistic. We will have our sticky patches - one of which looked like being yesterday but we salvaged something from that - but we are strong enough to come through them this year. An overreaction at what was a decent point neither helps or proves anything. As long as we keep picking up those points in wins and draws till the end of the season it's fine by me. 11 unbeaten isn't too shoddy now is it?
Lionheart Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Well someone behind me actually attempted to boo us off at half time, fvcking moron. What a c**t,surely must be someone who just turned up for that game, couldn't be someone who's watched all season!
Corky Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Certainly no lack of effort, Knockaert was all over the place trying to make things happen, Konchesky was bombing down the wing in support of the attack. Quality lacked and Watford's defence was very resolute.
LCFCCKEANO Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 What a c**t,surely must be someone who just turned up for that game, couldn't be someone who's watched all season! Nope, season ticket, behind me all year. Him and his mates constantly attack nugent and vardy, i couldve understood nugent but how you could attack vardy astonishes me.
sylofox Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 If they moaned at yesterday god help us in a few weeks. All games will get harder from now on. Teams wanting the play off spots will fight harder. Teams in fear of the drop will fight even harder. Both lots of teams also understand better how we play now as well.
Zapp Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 It was a lacklustre performance at best col til the 80th minute where we suddenly seemed to realise we were going to lose so started pressing/hoofing and generally looked like we were looking for the equaliser. Its an observation rather than criticism. Its been said before that we sit back a bit early on and suss out our opponents and then hit them. That didn't happen yesterday. Well I'm not sure what game you were watching buddeh! 2nd half we were utterly dominant, they put 9 behind the ball and left 2 up top for the counter, that meant we had to pass our way through that block. Konchesky had a couple of free shots on goal, could have easily gone in or be parried for a rebound if they were on target. Anyway my point is that you cant press any further than the opponents 18 yard box (which we spent most of the time) when they defend with discipline. 80th min was the point where Pearson went for broke with his substitutions, at which point we had 3 at the back, I will accept if you say these should have been made sooner, but as proved by the earlier counter attack, they could have hit us on the break & surely scored with less players back. It was a game where if we scored 1st, we probably would have bagged 4 or 5. But to concede 2 goals on the counter, well Watford only had to stick to 1 thing. And credit where its due, they defended very well.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 I feel like I missed out, did seenitall and co return?
Webbo Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Embarrassing is a bit of an exaggeration isn't it? 1 or 2 people said it wasn't a great performance and they're entitled to their opinion. Most people were quite supportive. Bit of a fuss about nothing.
SMX11 Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 Watford aren't a bad team and they defended well for most of the game. If you are 2-0 up away from home against top of the league you are going to defend for your lives which they did.

Bit of a fuss about nothing. In truth Webbo it was a bit OTT with 2 or 3 threads popping up about , Nuge, Dyer & Wasilewski and some quite damning comments in post match thread about a lack of effort and poor performance etc. Yes everyone is entitled to their opinion, however respondees are also entitled to counter. I personally feel it was far from a poor performance and there was certainly no lack of effort in very difficult conditions.

We could thrash Man City 10-0 and somebody on here would have something to moan about. We've had threads about certain players even after we've won, yesterday wasn't that bad considering. It certainly wasn't embarrassing.
ARTY_FOX Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 I dont think we played badly yesterday. It's always going to be difficult to make a mountain of chances against a team who sit with 11 men behind the ball. They had a game plan and it was frustrating but we'd better get used to teams using that tactic

yorkie1999 Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 I'm saving my moaning for if and when we go up and it's 500 quid for a season ticket half a dozen less games no local rivals and most of our matches midweek.

It's also going to piss it down every week or snow. Oh and both of Vardy's legs are going to fall off.

And you won't be able to get a beer unless you get there 3hours early. What twat moans about the team when there's proper things to moan about.
FuriousFox46 Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 A draw at home to Watford. Meh, not great. 9 wins and 2 draws in 11 games is ****ing brilliant. How can anyone be disappointed?
CORNFOX68 Posted 9 February 2014 Posted 9 February 2014 I think Was at centre half is a good squad player but definitely a bit slow imo, but hes solid and gives a hundred percent, the more games he plays the sharper he will get, dyer had no room to use his pace yesterday similar to forest game, but i dont think forest are going to sit back against us when we play them there which hopefully means he will have more space to use his pace, but i admit hes looking a bit jaded/tired but the season hes had so far we should be getting behind him, in fact the whole team, If things start going wrong the last thing we need is to get on the players backs were in a good position and definitley a better squad and mentality than last season.

Pretty accurate I'd say, not just for some of the moaning but the the other top reaction to some of the moaning (i.e this thread) and then the over the top reaction to that etc etc etc so on, so forth. Vintage Foxestalk after a disappointing result really!
Guest Col city fan Posted 10 February 2014 Posted 10 February 2014 Having read some good posts on the thread, I still think there was a big over-reaction after Saturday's game. We have no divine right to win any game. Watford had a game plan and scrapped it out. There will be one or two twists and turns before the season ends. The difference from last season is the belief in the players. Last season, I maintain our heads would have dropped and we would have lost that game.

Heart-Shaped Fox Posted 10 February 2014 Posted 10 February 2014 If we played the same way as Watford just like Forest also did and got a point at Forest next week I'd be happy
Happy Fox Posted 10 February 2014 Posted 10 February 2014 If we played the same way as Watford just like Forest also did and got a point at Forest next week I'd be happy I wouldn't at all because we are better than that, our approach is to win games.
foxfanazer Posted 10 February 2014 Posted 10 February 2014 I agree with this. The weather and Watfords containing tactics (not a criticism) made it a difficult game. To be 2-0 down and tcome vacl just shows how far we've come since last season imo. You can pick fault at a few individual performances on saturday but to suggest there was a lack of effort is completely false. Every point is valuable and that could be a vital one come may. Let's not get ahead of ourselves by pretending the job is done but let us enjoy this season watching one of the best city sides in recent memory. COYB!
