The People's Hero Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Do you have a daughter called Ormondroyd? A son called Leaf (Hillpot)? Bought a Volkswagen Fox (bit rubbish) solely on the basis its a Fox? Persevered with Filbert nuts despite not really liking them? Basically what (stupid) things have you done outside of football inspired by a love of Leicester City. I think my two best are: I have a daughter called Elsie Faith Cosette (I know, I know), which is Elsie F C (or LCFC). The Faith was inspired by Keep the Faith. My son loves foxes. Its taken sometime but he's only 2 years old and I think they are now his favourite animal. This is all a covert way to convince him later on to support Leicester. Its cost me a lot of money in buying him fox related things, but I think a recent showing of Disney's Robin Hood & The Fantastic Mr Fox film have now nailed it. Boom. Over to you ridiculous, ridiculous people.
Munshi Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 My sons name is Lloyd Dyer. I don't have a son.
The People's Hero Posted 28 February 2014 Author Posted 28 February 2014 My sons name is Lloyd Dyer. I don't have a son. But if you had a son, he'd be Lloyd Dyer *your surname (presumably hell?)* right?
FoxesAreBlue Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Nothing, football is an important entertainment for me, but I wouldn't let it influence me in such a big way to name my children after something LCFC related. Maybe a pet. But definitely not a child, if there was a similarity to LCFC it would be coincidental.

Bob Weasel Fox Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Not really names wise but I did once enrol one of my sons as a junior fox within 30 minutes of him being born. Actually ran from the royal infirmary to the old ground to register him (he is now 16)
Beliall Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Mrs b wouldnt allow me to make either of our kids initials LCFC, mainly because I couldnt come up with any decent names. I did however buy them a kitten last year and named it leicester. Its a ginger one and they love leicester and believe its him on the team emblem.
Bayfox Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 I wanted to call my boy muzzie. My wife didn't. She won. He's called alfie.
Strokes Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Elsie F C damn it, i could of done that and got away it. No unfortunately my missus got too much sway in the names and to be honest i wasnt smart enough to think of one like that .

I was fortunate I suppose that I also had a great grandmother named Elsie, so I could slide it through. I do like the name, and wouldn't have gone with it otherwise. My wife knew exactly what I was up to and since we had twins, we could sort of name one each!
FoxesAreBlue Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Not really names wise but I did once enrol one of my sons as a junior fox within 30 minutes of him being born. Actually ran from the royal infirmary to the old ground to register him (he is now 16) I would do that though. My child minder when I was a kid had a cats called Muzzy and Filbert. Filbert was the orange one and actually looked a bit like a fox. Muzzy was black so I think he was just the left over cat that got her favourite players name.
Kitchandro Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 I always thought Claridge would be a good name for a boy. Very classy. It's got Oxford graduate written all over it. If I had a dog I would definitely call it Filbert. And if I had another one it would be called Muzzy. I'm pretty superstitious about football things. When we played Forest away in 2009 my mum and dad bought the Christmas tree the day before. I've never forgiven them for that. My uncle bought his season ticket on the same day his mum was attacked by a fox - the season we got relegated to league one. I definitely favour anything blue. Counters in board games. Pens. And clothes of course. I was so nervous before the play-off semi 2nd leg that I refused to have eggs with my full English brekkie based on the idea that the yolk looked too much like the colour of Watford's kit. Even I'm embarrassed about that one.
FoxesAreBlue Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 I will steer towards blue too though but blue just tends to look good and I think is a neutral colour anyway. **** red!
The People's Hero Posted 28 February 2014 Author Posted 28 February 2014 I was going to call our ginger cat Claridge, but he ended up being called Morris, because that is a great name and he loved chasing this thing with a bell on it. Pretty crap reason I know, and thinking about it, I'd love him a lot more if he was called Ormondroyd. There aren't enough cats (or people) called Ormondroyd.

I do like the name, and wouldn't have gone with it otherwise. My wife knew exactly what I was up to and since we had twins, we could sort of name one each!To be fair i did pick my boys name, so that he would never change it to his mothers maiden name. His middle name is Reade and her surname is Wright, a sneaky attempt to protect the family name.
rico Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 There used to be a girl who lived near me named Wembley Leicester, not bullshitting either!

trugerkem Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 My daughters name is Kemba( kember) and i know a girl named Weller

Webbo Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Yes that would be her,was she from Northfields area? Yeah, she had a brother called Adrian (Adey)
mr whippy Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 My daughter had a pet fish which was a bluish colour and it was called Mickey Adams.
Unabomber Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Was going to buy a dog and call him Nigel Pearson, but in the end I rescued one and he was already named Alfie, shame.
Alf Bentley Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 This sort of thing doesn't always work out for the best. My eldest, Elvis, has to go in for an ankle op next week, my triplets Sven-Goran, Yuki and DJ are getting teased at nursery and I've developed obsessive compulsive disorder. Whatever food I eat, I have to fry it - and it ruins my morning weetabix. Still, could be worse. It's mayhem at my mate's house. He's got 11 kids and they're all called Barry.
Salieri Posted 28 February 2014 Posted 28 February 2014 Ive had cats called Lester and Muzzy. Also a goldfish called Emile, he didn't last long. Oh, and a lovely tree in my garden that i've christened Nigel (did have a bush called Martin but it died shortly after O'Neill left the club - I stopped watering it.)
