DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 8 March 2014 Posted 8 March 2014 'Arry just rang me. He's over the moon. Great result for you geezer, but you wont catch us up.
Pegosteve Posted 8 March 2014 Posted 8 March 2014 Best I can see QPR is 89 points and thats not losing a game. They still have some tough games to play, Brighton, Us, Forest, Boro, Watford, Wigan. They are going to have to put a startling run together to get back in it. May go up through play offs, wouldn't want to be on play offs with QPR and Wigan going strong. Cant see Forest or Derby making it now.
LanguedocFox Posted 8 March 2014 Posted 8 March 2014 I don't see QPR making second, but only because I don't see Burnley or us dropping many points. But people who thought they would be down in eighth or ninth come the end of the season (including a lot of people on the QPR Messageboard) are completely wrong: they're nailed-on for playoffs (though I have a sneaking feeling that Wigan will win the playoffs).

fuchsntf Posted 8 March 2014 Author Posted 8 March 2014 Still think QPR are right in it. The reason why I started the thread. Whether you like them or not, QPR do have a good squad, adding Morrison was a smart move. Leaving city and Burnley , and preferences out of the argument. QPR, Wigan are still the danger teams, throw in somebody like Blackburn or Brighton to upset the big teams. I still believe Leicester and Burnley have to be first caught and drop major points, I simply dont think it will happen, They are just the 2 best teams this season and can afford a couple of slip ups and the odd dropped points. The chasers have to, need to win, hoping we 2 will drop points at the same time. City can afford to lose against qpr and wigan, then still make points against others.
Corky Posted 8 March 2014 Posted 8 March 2014 Good result today for QPR... I agree, Redknapp finally managing to get the best out of his expensively assembled squad.
lancyclaret Posted 9 March 2014 Posted 9 March 2014 I still have this nagging feeling Burnley may live to regret "only" drawing 3-3 at QPR last month. Most people thought it was a great result after coming back twice from a goal down but Danny Ings messed up a glorious chance to make it 4-2 with 15 minutes to go. He went for glory and blasted a shot just wide instead of squaring the ball to an unmarked Arfield who could have tapped the ball into an empty net from 6 yards. Hope this "three-point swing" does not come back to haunt us.

Stan Posted 9 March 2014 Posted 9 March 2014 Yes, a truly outstanding result against a team on their worst ever home run....
stuartn27 Posted 9 March 2014 Posted 9 March 2014 Think QPR have had there blip Still a lot of points to play for Watch this space
crisp packet Posted 9 March 2014 Posted 9 March 2014 Have to agree that they are not out of it yet ? (2nd) Game in hand , big game for Burnley today at there rivals lose and it does become interesting below us..... 5 more wins for us to be promoted I'd say...
Aus Fox Posted 9 March 2014 Posted 9 March 2014 using current form Qpr will finish 5th. Form an change at any point, so pat form is irrelevant the only thing that matters is future form and what happens in the next 13 games.
Socks Posted 9 March 2014 Posted 9 March 2014 i want black burn to win, still think QPR can finish 2nd, but I think it depends on todays result but I dont think they can catch us though and finsih 1st (some of their fans actually still think they will)
Rincewind Posted 9 March 2014 Posted 9 March 2014 It will be a tough task to catch us but if they catch Burnley it will mean they (Burnley) are dropping points and that can only be good for us.
Tielemans63 Posted 9 March 2014 Posted 9 March 2014 I genuinely think Morrison could make a huge difference to QPR. I didn't think they'd be anything more than play off contenders but imho he's a massive talent who could boss this division. Still don't think they'll catch us but I can see them sneaking second. IF they beat us at the King Power - that would make things interesting.
fuchsntf Posted 9 March 2014 Author Posted 9 March 2014 Don't give up your day job, fuchsntf. Mmm strange how the posters have now started to change, When I first posted this thread, it was QPR FINISHED, No hopers, now all of a sudden my crystal ball predictions are being taken serious. My horizontal stripes were mooned at. Now because of one result, fickle posters are changing their stance each game played. QPR will be in the mix for 2nd spot, I firmly believe we go up as champions, even if we drop points in the next-3 to 4 games..Its not about panicking if we lose 1-2 games, or the chasing packs results go against us, but believing we are strong and good enough to ride the odd bad result....if we have any.
65RosesFox Posted 9 March 2014 Posted 9 March 2014 Looks like it's them trying to chase Burnley as I think Direby might have blown their chance after today? Amazing, one good win for QPR and one shocking result for Derby and now all of a sudden QPR are a threat for automatic and Derby have been written off. Based on performances over the last few weeks regardless of results I think Derby will finish above QPR. But I don't think either will catch Burnley (writing this just as Rhodes hits the post) From what I've seen from Burnley when on Sky they are the second best team in this league by far. They're a constant threat and always attacking regardless home or away. The only thing that could rock them is an injury to a key player due to their small squad.

If he helps them to go up, he'll be their signing of the season.

It wasn't Morrison we were laughing at, it was the fact that Harry's answer to any kind of problem is to bring in another big name player on massive wages. And it's hardly been master stroke so far given that Rangers have got 4 points from the 3 games Morrison has played against bottom-of-the-table Charlton, just-beaten-5-1-at-home Leeds and no-win-in-11-at-home Birmingham

Do you know QPR are paying him 'massive wages'? 2. It takes any player a bit of time to gel in any side. 3. I did say 'if'
Guest ttfn Posted 9 March 2014 Posted 9 March 2014 1. Do you know QPR are paying him 'massive wages'? 2. It takes any player a bit of time to gel in any side. 3. I did say 'if' 1. Yes, I am 99.9% sure that is the case. You'd have to be an absolute cretin not to reach that conclusion. 2. So why bring him in with 16 to play? If he's that much better than everybody else in the division he should be in charge straight away. 3. Ok. "If" QPR don't get promoted it will be the third club in the last four that Harry has relegated and/or screwed beyond recognition.

You like your disparaging remarks dont you. Can't we ever just have a conversation without such comments being brought in? Personally, I remain in the view that Morrison could be an excellent bit of business for QPR and that the 'yet another signing, in this case, could be the key one. Lets be honest, having made so many signings, Arry had to get one right! Its law of averages..

I didn't call you a cretin Col. I said you'd have to be a cretin to believe they hadn't spent a fortune to bring him in. The last couple of sentences are fair enough. I still think they're very dangerous and Morrison should be a good signing. I don't think bringing him in is exactly a master stroke by 'Arry (he's not a wheeler-dealer you know...)
