Cincinnati Fox Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 If you have been comprehensively beaten do not give a man of the match Taking the piss at its best!!
Jimmy Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 The fact he is an ex Leicester trainee played a part in the chant I'd imagine
Dan Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Barnsley got what they deserved for such hilarious delusion.
Cincinnati Fox Posted 12 March 2014 Author Posted 12 March 2014 After he got it, he ran around like a headless chicken a bit faster than he did in rest of the game
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 What's happened? Me no understand, who is this Stephen Dawson?
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 The fact he is an ex Leicester trainee played a part in the chant I'd imagine It had absolutely nothing to do with it, It was just fantastic terrace humour! The vast majority of people in that away end would never have heard of Stephen Dawson. Something that could be done at a few more away games where MOTM is announced between now and the end of the season I'd imagine!
MattyFromLE Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 How they didn't give it the goalkeeper i'll never know!
J.Lisemore Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 It had absolutely nothing to do with it, It was just fantastic terrace humour! The vast majority of people in that away end would never have heard of Stephen Dawson. Something that could be done at a few more away games where MOTM is announced between now and the end of the season I'd imagine! Exactly, Even though I knew he was, not many of the lads I was with knew he'd played for our academy, it was just so funny. Even on the way home on the motorway....ONE STEVIE DAWSON, THERES ONLY ONE STEVIE DAWSON!!
Kitchandro Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 I was in stitches I almost felt sorry for Barnsley last night. We weren't even at our best and it was complete humiliation for them. Their players' confidence must be shot to pieces. The miskick I lost count of the amount of time James megged someone.
Trumpet Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 I was in stitches I almost felt sorry for Barnsley last night. We weren't even at our best and it was complete humiliation for them. Their players' confidence must be shot to pieces. The miskick I lost count of the amount of time James megged someone. That double megs, Schlupp and James I think it was. Brilliant.
LCFC FOX Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Was my favourite chant of the night A long with "Jamie Vardy, he's going Brazil" and the constant cheering when we won a throw to take the p/ss of the Barnsley fans
HEGGSY Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 Quality last night absolutely quality That double nutmeg, their players claiming offside from a goal kick and their fans going with it, the Stephen Dawson chant, the way Vardy completely skinned his man for the first, the way we played with such ease and confidence, I ****ing loved it JAMIE VARDY HE'S GOING BRAZIL
VLC86 Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 That was ****ing hilarious! I knew it was coming when he started to announce MOTM. Surely they would have some sense to give it to someone on the other team when you have been destroyed like that! The cheering of each of their passes were equally as funny. As was that complete donkey CB they had pretty much trip over the ball with no one anywhere near him. Oh, and the double nutmeg.
LCCFox96 Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 How they didn't give it the goalkeeper i'll never know! This. Couldn't make the game last night but sounded hilarious over the radio. Needless to say Stringer and Youngy were in stitches too.
Vlad the Fox Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 This. Couldn't make the game last night but sounded hilarious over the radio. Needless to say Stringer and Youngy were in stitches too. I enjoyed their commentary last night. They seemed to be really enjoying themselves to the tune of 4000 city fans in the background.
LCCFox96 Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 I enjoyed their commentary last night. They seemed to be really enjoying themselves to the tune of 4000 city fans in the background. Agreed. They've also didn't big us up too much last night which they did the last game I couldn't make (Birmingham away). It made for a much friendlier, less arrogant and more fluid commentary. I would love to have their job ATM. Their clearly enjoying and doing a good job too tbf.
Foxes1 Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 I would have given it to the number 22 for sheer comedy value especially when he got his feet tangled up, or appealing for offside when Vardy stood behind him from a goal-kick.
-blue- Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 I'd love someone to start the Super Stevie Dawson chant at the KP on Saturday. ...
Kitchandro Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 The other bit I found funny was near the end of the game when we had a goal kick given which they disagreed with, 3 sides of the ground got up to berate the ref and then the majority just walked out. I don't know why they wasted their effort having a go at the ref, it was purely out of habit.
veezeeblue Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 was the highlight from our lad´s last night great stuff - made me laugh, the other highlight was I am sure I heard Youngy singing along we are top of the league - off mic during the commentary at one point #bluearmybrazil
Storming Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 And playing games with the keeper he had no balls 1 ball then 2 balls then 1 ball then 2 again funny as fook

-blue- Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 ITV Sport have listed the top 10 terrace chants on their website; some are pretty good but most of us have heard funnier ones at games. The trouble is, for most, you really need to be there to appreciate them. ....the Stevie Dawson one being a good example.
ThurnbyLodgeFox Posted 12 March 2014 Posted 12 March 2014 That away day, was probably the best for me and I've only missed one (Charlton away)
