Players rating vs Burnley

Based on TV:

Schmeichel 6 Little to do, mostly sound, but I wish he'd cut out the rash clearances - gave away a chance

De Laet 8 One of his best performances - some great defensive interventions

Morgan 7.5 Strong, good interventions, one slip-up

Wasyl 6.5 Fine, but 1 or 2 cock-ups

Schlupp 8 Yet another excellent all-round performance

Mahrez 8 Classy possession/passing

Drinky 7 Kept midfield control

James 7 As above

Knocky 7.5 Some great passing/dribbling, unlucky to hit bar

Nuge 7.5 Integral role, great goal

Vardy N/A Didn't get into it, then injured

Wood 8 MoM Superb assist, superb goal; major role in winning a crucial match

GTF N/A Didn't really notice; sure he was fine, he usually is

Hammond N/A Nice back-up player to close games down

Burnley 5.5 Solid but created little & well beaten; losing 3-4 key players obviously affected them

Ref 5 Not bad overall, kept cards in pocket, but should've seen penalty on Vardy...& possible hand-ball by our lot (50-50)

Feeling much more relaxed now. Even if we lose at Wigan, we're going up - almost certainly as champions.

Like others, I hope Burnley go up too. They've earned it throughout the season. It'd be a travesty if piss-money-up-the-wall QPR overtook them (losing 0-1 to Blackpool at time of writing  :D). I'd actually love to see Derby beat QPR in the play-offs, though I'm sure some will disagree...

Schmeichel 8  made saves when he had to. Good distribution.

De Laet 7.5

Morgan 8.5 played immensely his best game for some time - 1 slip.

Wasilewski 8.5 same as Morgan

Schlupp 7.5 some great, some just okay

Knockaert 7.5 same as above

James 7.5

Drinkwater 7

Mahrez 7 started great then disappeared

Nugent 8 easily the best attacker

Vardy 7

Subs:

Wood 7 wasn't as good as people are making out. Nice goal after the foul though

GTF 6

Hammond n/a

Thought James was brilliant in the midfield, glory for the others but he was the key man

I completely agree, he was my man of the match.

Wow they're really conservative ratings. Don't know how you decided on Wood for a 7?

Completely forgot that he set up Nugent's goal though to be fair Nugent's footwork spilt the defence open more than Wood's pass. Rating amended.

I thought De laet was absolutely phenomenal ... How has he only got 6.5? One of his best performances of the season.. An 8 for me

Agree. Going forward he wasn't great but defensively, that has to be one of the best displays I've seen from any player.

Kasper 7, dodgy kicks at times, but solid saves.

De Laet 8, didn't do much wrong today, solid and got forward plenty of times.
Morgan 8, Did well to keep Bunrley out from attacking us with his strength, slip-up was a massive mistake though.
Wasileski 7.5, thought he was pretty good today, still gives away plenty of fouls - an accident waiting to happen.
Schlupp 1st half 6 / 2nd half 8. Looked out of place at LB for the first half, badly timed passing, little runs, easily rubbed off - quality in the 2nd.

Knockaert 6.5, cracking effort off the bar, gave the ball away too much.
James 8, great partnership with Drinkwater, got back, blocked, we needed him on his toes today.
Drinkwater 8.5, absolutely stunning display after (from what I heard) a poor display vs Yeovil, MOTM
Mahrez 8, made us unique going forward.

Nugent 8, great work ethic, about time he scored again and on his weak foot.
Vardy 7, started well, should have won us a penalty, shame he went off so early with a knock.

Wood also showed why he deserves to be a premier league player, and a starting player for Leicester when our strikers are missing, top quality performance as you would expect.

This is said every week - but it hasn't happened yet. Just a great honest solid defender for me.

Bit harsh when their 3 most influential players all season didn't feature.

I don't think we would look as good if we lost DD, Nugent and Vardy.

I just hope they've got enough of a cushion not to let second place slip as they thoroughly deserve to go up with us.

We did lose Vardy. And we had a first team defender Moore sitting on the bench who hasn't got his place back. Our difference is we are bringing internationals off the bench when our players go down. Burnley have no bench to speak of. While they have been excellent this year, their squad depth does not look to good for the Prem. Now Leicester, on the other hand, is sitting in a great position as they look toward the summer.
