I'd be very happy to give him a chance, he will continue to improve defensively over the summer and he is very effective going forward so I'd like to see what he can do

He's been very poor lately but when he's on it he's one of the best RB's in the league! I'd say yes he could do a job there but he needs to sort his form out soon! Antonio bullied him last night

That Antonio goal was the only time he really put a foot wrong. He has got class, and his management of the ball is so much better than the likes of Konchesky. Which is refreshing from a full back.

Most of the time his positioning is spot on, and when it's not his pace is there as a backup.

Looks ready to me.

Agree he deserves a chance, improved defensively this season but still has an off game now and then. Attacking wise his pace and link up play is very good, but his crosses are poor.

I definitely think he is ready/good enough based on his excellent level of consistency this season and for most of last but I really can't agree with your assessment of his performance last night at all.

I thought he was very wasteful in possession, was repeatedly caught out of position (with the result being that Antonio got a run at Wasilewski) and the defending for the goal was terrible.

I always love these threads. A player has a few bad games and we choose to ignore the fact they've been great all season and question whether they're good enough

They were all wasteful to be honest, so looking at it relatively I came up with that assessment.

I agree with others, he's not hit the level of performance that we're used to over the last few games. But it's coming into the business end of the season and a multitude of factors are coming into play.

Ultimately, he is ready in my eyes.

Well said.

We have two quick, attacking full backs, capable of going up a level. Good and well done Pearson.

Yes. Don't let one bad game cloud judgement. He was a big miss for us when out injured earlier in the season.

He's very quick as well. We'll need pace down the flanks more than ever next season and Ritchie fits that mould. Because he doesn't get as many assists as the likes of Trippier, he gets less recognition.

Have to say that on the on hand he is tending to slip a bit, not a good thing in a defender and quite often it's an excuse, that said Wasil went to deep and should have give him better support. This is where we need to improve big time for next season.

I think it's harsh to criticise him for the goal last night. He was left way too exposed which invited Antonio to run at him, he should have really had more support to cover him considering Antonio was their main threat all night. I think he'll be starting in August.

Such bollocks saying he got bulled by Antonio! Apart from the goal he matched him for strength and pace, which not many fullbacls in this league will do. Won everything in the air as usual and looked tidy in possession. Good performance RDL-should definitely be starting come August

He has all the attributes to be a premier league player.  Positional, strength, willingness to attack and defend.  Best we've had for many a moon. Great contribution so far IMO.

Like I said I'd give him and every player a chance but the premier league is a different ball game and I have a lot of Norwich City fans who slate him

Pretty hipster opinion but I have him down for PoTY. Has shown a level of consistency met only by Drinky this season. Solid in defence and deceivingly good at taking a man on, as well. Whenever he comes forward, we are ALWAYS a threat. Barring that horror show at Yeovil and a fairly off night last night, he has to be up there.

Of course he's Premier League quality! He is in the top couple of right backs in the championship, better than many of the premier league right backs and he is incredibly young, he will only get better

Thought he had a great game yesterday
