lcfcfem Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Not too fussed about the result last night. It was going to happen at some stage. However, I am miffed that I feel the fans have missed out on the celebrations.............due to sky, police, club, etc etc etc. Leaving the debate of 'on/off' the pitch, the club could have put on some good party music before the match, gave out flags, balloons, whatever, and had Birchie really build the atmosphere up. We all went to a party last night without any booze and music and was left feeling a little bit cheated, and not because of the result. I hope the last game of the season will rectify this. No doubt, if we win the league, this should happen, but god forbid we dont, then I think that the last game will turn out very much like last night. We have waited 10 years for this..........my champagne needs popping
Unabomber Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Yeah it was as if nothing had happened let alone us being promoted to the top flight for the first time in 10 years a few days ago. I agree with hoping that there is something special planned for the Doncaster game, as last night was pathetic by the club, the players and the fans.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 Got to say I feel flat today, we've gone up to the TOP division for the first time in 10 YEARS and aside from the last 10 minutes (fans being galvanised etc) it was awful I really want to celebrate, perhaps that will come against QPR or Doncaster? I bloody hope so Come on City!!! I wanna party
lcfcfem Posted 9 April 2014 Author Posted 9 April 2014 What will make it worse is seeing Burnley fans celebrating in style in a couple of weeks. That will really make us look pxss poor
Captain... Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 We will have ours at the end of the season, when the players should have had theirs...
lgfualol Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 We will have ours at the end of the season, when the players should have had theirs... Very true. Surprised Nige let them get that bad. I know they deserve it but surely even last night/tonight would have been better to party.
Babylon Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 That will really make us look pxss poor Why? We can't have it both ways and moan at the players for not staying professional and seeing the season out to become champions, then expect the club to line up some big bloody party before the season is over and we are actually champions.
LMlcfc Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 It's really depressing.. Why can't. We celebrate I'm style like the other clubs do, hope something happens on the title clincher game or end of season..

We can't have it both ways and moan at the players for not staying professional and seeing the season out to become champions, then expect the club to line up some big bloody party before the season is over and we are actually champions. Because, after 10 years, we got promoted. The winning of the title is the icing on the cake and may not even happen.........unlikely, but still a possiblity. The main celebration is that we got promoted surely, and I for one, will feel very envious when we see the Burnley fans all celebrating. And the US in pxss poor is directed at the club. They advertised last night as the party game, but failed to deliver anything at all. Yes, the season needs completing. Yes, the title is still up for grabs. But we got promoted and its all a little flat still
harpendenfox Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 The best parties are those you're not expecting to enjoy. There was simply too much expectation from us all last night. The bizarre nature of the evening was summed up for me by the Birch having pink talcum powder thrown at him during the half time chat. I have no idea what that was all about. But hey, it's early April and we're promoted. Last night was awful, but I do feel we will respond with interest at Reading. And Burnley away, for me, was pretty much as good as it gets

Seemingly you want it all served up on a plate "here is your balloon, here is your party popper, here is a song, everyone clap along". People used to take their own balloons etc, people used to sing their own songs... we sat in silence for 75 minutes plus.

We took our own things, we sang our hearts out, but the host of the party, in my opinion, could have done a lot more

lcfcfem Posted 9 April 2014 Author Posted 9 April 2014 Sang our hearts out? Really? You could hear a pin drop until the fourth goal. Well i bloody did, not my fault that a lot didnt!
MC Prussian Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 I sense a sense of entitlement from some "fans" in here. To appease you all, I'm sure the club has set something up for Doncaster. Can you bear waiting for another four weeks or so?
Lobsterboyuk Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 I wasn't expecting anything from the club last night, that'll be when the title is decided or Doncaster. Really hoped the fans would be in good voice for more than the last 10 minutes, oh well, time to move on...
Manwell Pablo Posted 9 April 2014 Posted 9 April 2014 I'm confused, I admit it's a little frustrating to not get promotion after a game, but it happens, Fergie won his first Premier League title on the golf course, just get wrecked on the Saturday night and be done with it, apparently Saturday was a great night in town. I can't help but feel some people are obsessed by the idea of running on the pitch and getting a selfie taken with Danny Drinkwater.
