Matt Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Police can press charges on their own without anyone wanting to.
AndWhat? Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 ii know they dont god. For the police to apply the club would of had to press charges against him for it to go to court. Im quite sure it wouldnt of been thrown out of court had charges been made against him. That isn't true....... The police decide if they are going to apply for banning orders or not. the club have no say in it whatsoever. I'm sorry mate but you are wrong. If they police don't think they will be successful with an application then they won't go ahead with it, regardless of what the club wants. So in this instance, the police decided not to apply for a banning order, that decision had nothing to do with the club being nice.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 There are few types of people I like less than the smug, self-righteous "you should have known better laddy" divs of the sort in this thread. If only everybody could be as blameless and saintly as these pious individuals who, in situations like this, are never short of sycophantic praise for the bigger boys who dish out draconian punishments for minor transgressions. The guy has apologised, offered to do voluntary work, acknowledged his mistakes and is eager to put them right, but that will never be enough for some people. Halfway through next season, for example, what will this guy not have learned that he will have learned by the end of next season? The reasons for thinking the longer ban is a good idea can only be perverse ones. The guy has obviously already learned his lesson.
shade Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 don't do the crime if you can't do the time. do something knowingly wrong then you should accept the consequences like a man, whatever they may be.

Fox92 Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 He's got a point. Everybody knows the consequences regardless of how big or small the incident is.
AndWhat? Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 He's got a point. Everybody knows the consequences regardless of how big or small the incident is. Have you ever illegally downloaded music or watched an online stream of Sky Sports? Or crossed the street when the green man wasn't on? Or spat your chewing gum out on the pavement? Take it if you got a ridiculous punishment for any of the above you'd just take it and shut up cause you knew the consequences?
shade Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 pretty gimpy people doing things wrong and then pleading contrition after the incident, I don't get it, genuinely. I try not to do things wrong, but if do I'm never sorry for it, I just accept the outcomes.
tylesta Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Andwhat. First of all charges have to be made and the case put before the c.p.s before it goes to court where the football liason officer can apply for a banning order.

So if I run on the pitch with a flare shouting racist abuse and the club don't press charges, i'll just get away with it?? lol Charges have to be made by the police! not the club! You don't actually mention the club in that process either?
tylesta Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 So if I run on the pitch with a flare shouting racist abuse and the club don't press charges, i'll just get away with it?? lol thats well diffrent your commiting at least 4 offences there. Charges have to be made by the police! not the club! Just read that back, you don't mention the club in that process at all?

Carlos88LCFC Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Harsh how when one guy does it it's against the law. When there's a mass invasion it's plastered over the papers about such a great event.... 30,000 people decide to go on a killing spree... Would that make it ok? Makes me sound morbid I know but just doesn't make sense to me Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

BTW what's the 4th??

They would have tweeted pictures, sold them in the club shop etc etc

Alone its a bit easier and the club have to make a example in all fairness. If they dont what stops the next person doing it week in week out?

I might fight it a bit but at the end of the day I've done it so what can I do apart from accept the consequence? I knew them. I can choose to run on the railway line if I want, but I understand I could end up with a £1000 fine. I could choose to run on the pitch but then I'd know I'd be putting my passion of supporting my club in jeopardy. I just feel for the bloke in terms of, the majority on here have been like "on the pitch", one guy runs on and nobody follows him. Surprise. Now he has to accept the consequences, regardless of what scale, because he took it on himself to jump across those advertising boards and onto the pitch.
AndWhat? Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 yes I would. as long as it was a legitimate punishment, how could I complain? You can get up to 3 years in prison for illegally downloading a movie online. You are telling me now that if you got that sentence you would just take it and shut up?

Then again, downloading movies is taking tax money out of the pot... Pedophilia doesn't cost the government anything. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The Offence of "Rape of a Child Under the Age of 13" (Sex Offences Act 2003) is maximum life imprisonment. Not sure what you're on about tbh.
