AndWhat? Posted 12 April 2014 Posted 12 April 2014 Hello everyone. Just thought i'd give an update to you all. I have received a letter from the club and they intend to ban me for the rest of the season and for ALL of next season as well. I've just sent a massive email going through everything that happened and have offered to do volunteer work for them in a hope to get it reduced. Will let you all know how I get along. Wow seriously? I will be emailing the club tonorrow with my thoughts on this matter.
TheLittleBigMan Posted 12 April 2014 Posted 12 April 2014 Wow seriously? I will be emailing the club tonorrow with my thoughts on this matter. [email protected] is the email address I sent my appeal to. Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
Larry_LCFC Posted 12 April 2014 Posted 12 April 2014 [email protected] is the email address I sent my appeal to. Any help from you guys would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks. I'll email it with pleasure. Leicester really do have the knack of alienating fans with their heavy handed ways.
Bert Posted 12 April 2014 Posted 12 April 2014 To be fair, it doesn't help that people broadcast it all over the shop. Of course there's no way it'll have been able to have kept quiet but the club read this board, and other various lcfc related sites. Just played into their hands really.

If they read this board and other sites, they would have seen strong fan reaction in support of not going OTT with any punishment, which they've clearly ignored anyway. I could understand if it disrupted the match or there was any malice.

TheLittleBigMan Posted 12 April 2014 Posted 12 April 2014 Thanks for the support everyone. I did mention to them in my email that i'd got on a forum and apologised if I offended any fans. I didn't put which forum as I didn't want to be intrusive to you guys as i've just joined this form. So, i've apologised to the fans, the club, the staff AND offered to do volunteer work. After 25yrs of supporting the club i've made a mistake - will the club support me? Let's wait and see....

While it sucks that you got banned for that long, You had to see it coming as soon as you got collared. The club were always going to make an example of you to put off anyone else doing it. Don't get me wrong I can see that you are a decent bloke and are willing to do what it takes to get the ban reduced and I hope that you do, but with all due respect I can't feel any sympathy for you, you knew the risk when you went on the pitch and unfortunately payed the price. But for what it's worth I hope you do get it reduced.

LCFC FOX Posted 12 April 2014 Posted 12 April 2014 To be fair you was one of the worst pitch invaders I've seen, at least the guy who did it against sheff weds cleared the pitch, all you did was slide on your arse. Where's the fun in that?
Danno Posted 12 April 2014 Posted 12 April 2014 Sorry but it's your fault you've been banned. What did you expect them to do? Laugh it off and give you a stadium tour or something?
Larry_LCFC Posted 12 April 2014 Posted 12 April 2014 Sorry but it's your fault you've been banned. What did you expect them to do? Laugh it off and give you a stadium tour or something? Given the circumstances, you don't think a ban to the end of this season would be sufficient? He made an error of judgement and has done what he can to make up for it.
DennisNedry Posted 12 April 2014 Posted 12 April 2014 A ban for the whole of next season? Wow, that's harsh. This means you can't have a season ticket, but just go to more away games or get mates to buy you tickets. Anyway, hope it gets overturned or at least reduced mate.

He made an error of judgement and has done what he can to make up for it.I'm sure normal people with at least half a brain cell would have realised that the club would hand them a heavy ban if they invaded the pitch. If it stops more potential idiots from doing the same so be it.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Why do people think it's relevant whether or not he knew how severe the punishment would be? The discussion is clearly about how appropriate the severity of the punishment is, what has his foreknowledge or lack thereof got to do with it? The fact that a huge ban was in the range of possible outcomes doesn't make it a proportionate punishment for what he has done.

If he didn't run onto the pitch we wouldn't be having this conversation, do I agree with how long the ban is? Of course not but you just knew the ban would be severe as the club would of looked to make an example of him to deter others from doing the same. The club did say numerous times before and during the game on tuesday if you get on the pitch you will be arrested you know the risk if you decide to go on there. As I said before the bloke seems alright and didn't mean any harm and I hope he does get his ban reduced but personally I can't see it
tylesta Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Its only a stadium ban. think yourself lucky it was not a 3 year football ban.

I'm not sure what to say. It does seem harsh but then again it's not a national football ban. I suppose at least you can get to away games. But then again this is the consequence of going onto the pitch. We all know that, and there's a punishment for a reason. Probably to stop stuff like this happening! And it won't just be here, it will be at every other club as well. If other people joined you, I mean how many times did people mention it on here, then you wouldn't have had a problem. I agree with Bert about broadcasting it on the internet though. I said something along those lines at the time, as did other posters. I didn't realise the club read the board, but people kept bringing it up. I don't think they're supposed to be pre-arranged.
AndWhat? Posted 13 April 2014 Posted 13 April 2014 Its only a stadium ban. think yourself lucky it was not a 3 year football ban. Wow really? People get 3 year banning orders for organising mass brawls at the football and you think running on a bit of grass after a game is worth the same punishment? The attitude of some fans towards this is pathetic.

The attitude of some fans towards this is pathetic. On the other hand, two wrongs don't make a right. I'm not defending the club, but I'm not defending the guy either. As with any incident, person A knows the punishment of doing something like this. We'd just been promoted, should the club let it go? Not sure, I might be tempted to say yes, but that only encourages other incidents because people will say 'he did this and got no punishment so...'.

The attitude of some fans towards this is pathetic. I know a lad from when we was in the prem got a 3 year ban for entering a football ground whilst drunk at birmingham. Running on to the pitch is a criminal offence the club dealt with him without police or courts. He quite easily could of been charged. upto a £1000 pound fine and a 3 year football ban. I was only saying think yourself lucky on what he got.
