LEF Posted 24 February 2015 Posted 24 February 2015 To launch a counter attack you need to meet specific requirements like having a certain amount of players ahead of the ball. Yeah, I've read that but I'm not sure when the requirements 'kick in'. I've given it a miss and I'm just going for a 4411 Arrigo Sacchi high press with a fluid philosophy. I haven't started the season yet so not sure how it'll go.
Dan Posted 24 February 2015 Posted 24 February 2015 St Albans into the Championship in 6 seasons. Massive task aided by some monstrous free transfer signings that I had no right to get. Patel Savitsky and Leandro Parades in league 1 is filth getting Raul De Thomas on loan and then getting him on a free also filth. Same with Jordan Ibe - and that front 4 will and have out scored every other team. Ever. St Albans into Europe in 2022!!! Las Palmas legends here. Well I say legend, they will be, Savitskiy will have an emotional return when Atletico bin him off.
Dan Posted 24 February 2015 Posted 24 February 2015 Its not an exact science, but i dont tend to be as harsh on them away from home, or if they were on the wrong end of a decision or two. What you say and the tone of voice go hand in hand I think. If its half time and youre underperforming, be assertive with them. Tell them you expect to see more from them. If its a big game, be calm with them, theyll gain focus and not look stressed (in red). If theyve had a great win, Passionately congratulate them. Also if one of your bigger players isnt performing, maybe give him an individual talk, tell him "he can make the difference", give him a boost. There are probably people more qualified than me to answer this. I do quite like the option of warning against complacency if we beat someone like Eibar or Levante 1-0 in a poor display.
Tincy Posted 25 February 2015 Posted 25 February 2015 Need a facepack looked on si, but they come in like 10 parts!??
Finnegan Posted 25 February 2015 Posted 25 February 2015 Pretty sure the DF11 megapack is just one folder/download.
Will1981 Posted 25 February 2015 Posted 25 February 2015 new patch with january transfers is now out.
DB11 Posted 25 February 2015 Posted 25 February 2015 Pretty sure the DF11 megapack is just one folder/download. You need premium membership ie. To pay for that. Then it is one file / torrent, however as just an ordinary registered member you need to download all of the individual parts and there is a limit to wait between each one etc. If you download all of them them each update is only one download
Finnegan Posted 25 February 2015 Posted 25 February 2015 Just get a premium membership. It's like a quid.
Frost Posted 25 February 2015 Posted 25 February 2015 Anyone else struggled to get into FM with this version? Find it stupid. Ridiculous questions asked in press conference's over and over, crosses hitting the post every single game, ridiculous penalties being given when players don't even move, etc etc. Find the fun has been taken out of this version, at least for me anyway.
Finnegan Posted 25 February 2015 Posted 25 February 2015 I've got to be honest, it's my least favourite in years. I like that they've made scouting harder and more involved but it makes finding and developing regens far more of a chore. The match engine just isn't quite right, either. Little things like players who should be free one on one just drifting out in to the corners, the high volume of offside goals, all the penalties, it's just a bit, eh. It doesn't make it unplayable because it's balanced for both the player and computer so it doesn't stop you being successful but it kills some of the immersion. I guess it feels less realistic this year. I can't put my finger on it. I also find player interactions and press conferences more ridiculous than ever.
Donut Posted 26 February 2015 Posted 26 February 2015 Starting my 6th season as Bayern Munchen. The Objective: Ruthlessly dominate Europe. Having completed the previous season by winning a 5th consecutive Bundesliga title, and by winning the Champions League, The 2019/2020 season started in the same manner, with a solid 3-1 German Super Cup win against Schalke in Gelsenkirchen. The 1st round of the DFB Polkal German Cup pitted the mighty Bayern away to little know Saar 05. On a hot and windy day, and facing a bobbly pitch and an opponent with nothing to lose, everything was set up for a classic banana skin cup tie. That was until............................................... 14-0, On your big day out, 14-0, on your big day out............................
Donut Posted 26 February 2015 Posted 26 February 2015 I believe I have put together the best squad I have ever had anywhere. Considering the way players develop, Ive never had so much talent to work with. Keepers: Manuel Neuer, Tim Stephan Defenders: John Stones, Max Sanger (regen), Jerome Boateng, Mataija Nastasic, Phil Jones, Mehdi Benatia, David Alaba, Juan Bernat Midfielders: Mattias Kranevitter, Lucas Romero, Javi Martinez, Paul Pogba, Hirving Lozano, Thomas Muller, Marco Reus, Xherdan Shaqiri, Lazar Markovic, Mario Gotze, James Rodriguez Forwards: Robert Lewandowski, Federico Bonazzoli, Mauro Icardi
Buzzell Posted 26 February 2015 Posted 26 February 2015 To be fair, you're Bayern. Exactly Try doing it with a lower league side with limited resources. I find taking over big sides a bit boring as you're always going to win trophys as it's expected. Becoming Leicester manager is a bit of a task. I managed to keep them up within the first year. Climbed up to midtable which was nice. I'm a quarter of the season through on my second season and again sitting in mid table. My form isn't too bad. Playing against the top 3 is impossible to get a result. Looks like this year's version is going to take me some time to break into Europe. FM14 it took me about 10 years to reach Champions League football and actually challenge for the league title. Within that 10 years I also managed to get Leicester relegated to League One. God knows how I kept my job.
Dan Posted 26 February 2015 Posted 26 February 2015 Starting in the second tier is always more rewarding. When I'm bored of Las Palmas I'm going to Germany's second tier. More than likely end up being Bochum.
Finnegan Posted 26 February 2015 Posted 26 February 2015 **** the second tier, take Dresden back to where they belong! Despite the fact I've a soft spot for the bundesliga, I can never get in to managing in Germany. It's always a pinch too easy. With the reputation and the prize money and attendances you can sign a great team in no time but the opposition are always shit besides Bayern.
AyewJoking Posted 26 February 2015 Posted 26 February 2015 having problems signing into my account, is steam down?
Wilson_6 Posted 26 February 2015 Posted 26 February 2015 First season with Bournmouth and just got into the play offs on goal difference on the last game of the season won it 4-0 was just about to miss out as Norwich and Fulham were 0-0 finished the match thinking it was all over and then realised Norwich scored a winner in the 94th Minute! Play offs here we come!

With the reputation and the prize money and attendances you can sign a great team in no time but the opposition are always shit besides Bayern. Dresden's a shout. I might well do that. Same with Strasbourg in France, I nearly ended up working there for a month in real life. They're a third tier side still aren't they? I had my old Schalke save. Won the league and champions league but took me seven years to win the latter Took Aachen to the Bundesliga and on doing so (at the third attempt) was handed the Bayern job absolutely farcical. I've had a few go's in Germany but I've never had what I'd deem to be one of my best ever saves there. This Las Palmas one will go on for a while yet. It's got it all.
Finnegan Posted 26 February 2015 Posted 26 February 2015 I've had a few St Pauli saves that I enjoyed but even with them I tended to go flying up the Bundesliga in my first season up and then, the next season, with the prize money I was laughing. One year they moved me in to Hamburg's stadium and built me a new one, I won the league, the CL, ridiculous. This is St Pauli ffs and it was only a couple of years in. Part of the reason is the editors that do the German sides seem to be ridiculously harsh. Look at some tidy players in Germany and their stats are awful. This year they've finally caught on but Marco Reus in the last few years wouldn't get in any of my teams, stupid. Spain is my favourite league in FM because Barca and Real always stay competitive and you seem to get a high chance of other clubs going Tycoon. My best saves are nearly always with Betis.
Dan Posted 26 February 2015 Posted 26 February 2015 Is the prize money that good then? I've never really been a midtable Bundesliga club other than Bremen & Hamburg (I got sacked at both, slightly harshly IMO) and I've not really thought anything of it. You get a lot to spend at Schalke and I just assumed that was down to their stature/owners. Like I say when I took Aachen up I went to Bayern. Regretted it in a way, it was far too easy. Atletico are right up there as well this year on it which I like. I don't like the way some clubs tail off into mediocrity. I got offered the Sevilla job yesterday, now, I didn't want to leave Las Palmas anyway so just turned it down, but a quick look through their squad... it's literally no better than ours, they've fallen into serious decline. Uuurgh Real Betis. I hate that lot. Maybe the Sevilla job might have been for me. Seems like no matter what I do Betis are that bit better. Went away there this season absolutely flying and got beaten 5-1 as they moved into the top three. Ridiculous. Their squad is bang average as well. Eibar are about to be bought out by a tycoon on mine I must admit it does intrigue me watching what these tycoon clubs do on it. Preston had one on my FM14 save and they couldn't get out of the Championship no matter how much they spent.
Finnegan Posted 27 February 2015 Posted 27 February 2015 Hercules had a tycoon buyout in 2013 on my Betis save. They pumped shit loads in to players, hired Jose Mourinho and made a right go of it for a season and then he got them relegated. I howled.
