Collo73 Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 After the full house we wil get against donny next Saturday we will finish the season on just over 25,000 avg per game... I'm a season ticket holder along with 16,000 or so others so the price didn't work out too bad but for the pay on the gate guys the prices in my opinion were ludicrous. Fantastic avg for me on those prices. What a great season we have watched unfold and looking forward to a great piss up at Huddersfield on Saturday:)

Fox92 Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Our away attendance has been great again this season as well. Think we're up to third in the average away followings table now.
Vicki Vixen Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 How are they ludicrous? They are not out of line with prices other teams charge at this level. A and C blocks always have good availability at £21. It amazes me how many people moan about ticket prices yet the cheapest areas at the KP are usually the emptiest.
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Agree generally attendances have been very good
Stevosevic Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Does anyone know the average attendance since the boxing day game with Reading? They seem to have been generally quite high since that game.

Sorry, but not being out of line with what other teams charge at this level doesn't make it less ludicrous. Not being local, I'm unable to purchase tickets in person at the stadium and the £21 tickets are never available for sale on LCFC Direct.com. Waiting on the phone lines for ages doesn't go down well with my employer either.
Collo73 Posted 24 April 2014 Author Posted 24 April 2014 Vicki vixen... £29 is standard in kop for a 'gold' fixture ( sheff weds!! ) and there's a platinum rate on top of that!! Comparing us to other clubs is just naive as the London clubs for example will always charge more due to cost of living etc.. Anyway my thread was mainly about the good attendances really but thought it should be highlighted that in my opinion the 'pay on the turnstile ' cost has been far too much.
Kitchandro Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 On the flipside to that coin, you have to say that our attendances are not great considering how good a season we've had, and they may have been had prices been more reasonable. How are they ludicrous? They are not out of line with prices other teams charge at this level.A and C blocks always have good availability at £21. It amazes me how many people moan about ticket prices yet the cheapest areas at the KP are usually the emptiest. This is actually bullshit in more ways than one.
ashby_fox Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Does anyone know the average attendance since the boxing day game with Reading? They seem to have been generally quite high since that game. Average home attendance since Boxing Day is - 26,341 Lowest since then was Derby on sky tv & Watford a platinum fixture both in the 23,000's. So a real upsurge in home support since Christmas when we hit the top of the league.
Soar Fox Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Our away attendance has been great again this season as well. Think we're up to third in the average away followings table now. That's good going seen as some of the away games we've had on Tuesday nights. Barnsley, Birmingham, Wigan, Sheffield Wednesday possibly Bolton we would have took a lot more to if they were on Saturdays.

Barnsley, Birmingham, Wigan, Sheffield Wednesday possibly Bolton we would have took a lot more to if they were on Saturdays. Barnsley, Wigan and Wednesday could all easily have been 4000-5000 if they were on Saturdays.

Your post was about costs over the course of the season. Yes there are some more expensive games, but there are also fans fixtures where you can get a ticket for £15 so it balances out. My point was that if you are worried about costs then there are cheaper areas of the ground like A and C that people can choose but most do not.

I am not local either and not a STH or member but always (with the exception if Doncaster) get tickets in A or C via LCFC Direct without any trouble.

As have I, and I have to say I've grown to like the view from A, not least because I've watched games versus Derby, Ipswich, Charlton and Sheff Weds from up there. It's my 100% section. Guess where I'll be looking for season tickets next season?
Collo73 Posted 24 April 2014 Author Posted 24 April 2014 Vicky vixen... Read the title... It's about attendances!! I just dropped in the cost at the turnstile point as it makes us laff every time we see the prices up at each home game. Maybe u can afford it but lots of young guys and gals can't I'm afraid who wud love to see the match I'm sure.
Maybes Posted 24 April 2014 Posted 24 April 2014 Barnsley, Wigan and Wednesday could all easily have been 4000-5000 if they were on Saturdays. Agreed and we've had no real 'deals' on tickets like Forest got at Birmingham and Derby (I think) had one at Barnsley.

My point was that if you are worried about costs then there are cheaper areas of the ground like A and C that people can choose but most do not. If you decide to go at the last minute and want two seats together then A & C are mostly not the answer. On top on this you then have to pay more for buying on the day. I have a ST in C and if my son gets a chance to go, which he has on occasion I've had to get 2 seats in the Kop at £29 + on the day surcharge and pay extra for myself moving to the Kop so your A & C did not provide a solution to expensive ticketing. On the day attendees seem to be targeted to prevent them coming as it seems like too much hard work for the club's admin. Throwing in a couple of 'fans fixtures' (what misnomer that is) does not compensate for the very expensive, unnecessary and often unexplainable (Watford FFS) platinum games.
C-man Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 Makes me sad how people are so quick to defend the club and others on ticket prices - 'in line with other clubs', 'Ohh £25 for a second tier game, not bad', '£35 to see Arsenal is very reasonable'. They are an absolute outrage throughout English football. Football should be socially inclusive but it's about as far as it could possibly get away from that. West Brom are a joke as well. They had the perfect opportunity to boycott their game at Man City and make a real statement. Instead 250-300 idiots paid £56 to turn up and sit in silence and nothing special is made of it.

I agree and hold my hands up on this debate - I was wrong and sorry if it pissed people off. Having lived in the US for several years where you pay ridiculous prices to watch live sports, only for most people to arrive late, leave early, and spend most of their time stuffing their faces rather than watching the game, I was glad to get back to this country and pay less to watch a sport I love amongst people who love the club as much as me. My perspective was wrong - thanks for setting me straight
AndWhat? Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 If we had taken 4000 to Birmingham, 5000 to Barnsley and 4000 to Wigan our average away attendance would have been 2380. 240 more than our current average which would have put us second to only Leeds. That doesn't include Reading, Bolton or Huddersfield (obviously) as I couldn't find an up to date list. We have been stupidly unlucky this seasons with away games, only 10 (I think) of our 23 away games have been Saturday at 3pm.

Waiting on the phone lines for ages doesn't go down well with my employer either. That's not entirely true. Myself, my brother or my dad always buy online and almost always for the JTT blocks, mainly C1 and C2. We've always had success (apart from the Doncaster game for obvious reasons). We've never had a problem with buying tickets here for matches over the past seasons no matter how close to the match we've decided to go. Maybe I'm in the minority. Personally, whenever I've bought the tickets there's always been a selection, too.
foxile5 Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 I live in South East Asia so the average home game costs me about £1200. Thieving bastards. I won't forget this.
bluebeau Posted 25 April 2014 Posted 25 April 2014 Attendances have suffered since the Foxy Ladies no longer appeared at home games........Bring them back!!!
