Very very poorly organised, delayed start and in the end had under an 1hrs presentation hosted by John Rudkin with only Moore, Mahrez, Pep-Ngoma and Bakayago present from the playing staff. Advised to get there for 6pm but the night didn't actually start till gone 7pm. Won't pay to go again next year if it is this tin pot.

And I agree it was very poorly organised.I don't think anyone who went would complain about the money side of things, and wasn't expecting anything fantastic but if you were there you would've agreed it was a shambles. Considering a lot of the DSA members were there, there were not enough seats for everyone, seats in the centre were reserved and taken up by massive round tables which were unnecessary, and could've been replaced with at least another 30. Limited seating was never mentioned when advertised, and caused a major issue for elderly people and people like myself who are unable to stand for long periods of time. As mentioned in the original post we were told it started at 18:00 and it didn't start until gone 19:00 which I got the impression was always going to be the case just so people would spend money at the bar. Which is fair enough, that I don't have a problem with however at no time from 18:00 onwards were any of us informed what was going on or when the presentation was going to start, we were all looking confused and just waiting. The lad I went with overheard Birch saying to someone that 6 players were suppose to attend but only 3 turned up. So i think 7 awards were given out, and only 3 players were there to collect them, whereas it was advertised that all winners will be there. Alan Young was there and I got the impression he was only there to make some money as he was in the corner all night at his book stand selling signed copies of his book. He didn't really go out his way to acknowledge any of the fans. However there were a couple of highlights, Mahrez went to collect a couple of awards and as his English is very limited he went to collect the award too early on more than one occasion because the audience were clapping showing appreciation to something Rudkin had said. Mahrez assumed this was his cue to go and collect it with a huge smile on his face when Rudkin hadn't yet announced the winner. Also Liam Moore gained a lot of respect in my opinion as well as the youth player Herve Pepe Ngoma as they stayed more or less until the end to sign stuff for fans and have photos taken where as Mahrez and Bakayogo couldn't wait to get out of there. Yes it might not be important to them but Liam Moore knew what it meant to the fans so took time and effort to please them. All in all i give the night a generous out of

The Foxes Trust has never been involved in organising an Awards night. The Supporters Club have had annual awards for 40 years, DISA for some years, the Trust does not want to compete with it, so supports an annual Supporters awards event, which should be affordable but have equal player & managerial team attendance as the Corporate event. The Supporters Club cannot be blamed for player no shows - however what the players who didn't bother to turn up need to understand is they have just lost the hearts of some fans that have been supporting them all season. There were some very upset & angry fans there tonight

There were some very upset & angry fans there tonight This might come across as harsh but should the players really have to be fannying around on a Thursday night at these sort of events? They have already had one major function this week with the player of the year awards and to be honest should just be dropping into an earlier sleeping pattern for the bodyclock tonight to start to prepare for a midday kick off on Saturday. Feel sorry for the kids who wanted to see the players etc but a Thursday night before the last game of the season at 12pm on a Saturday on the same week as the official awards seems a ridiculous time to be having something like this and expecting all the players to show up. Why didn't they do it next Monday? People will do anything on a Monday night, there is nothing to do, even the Scream pubs do £1 a night. You could have had a full house then as they would also have been allowed to turn up and get leathered. Does the supporters club carry any weight nowadays anyway? What's the membership? Me and Father Ted could organise our own awards night and charge people £4 to come, I don't think we'd be in a position to complain if the players didn't turn up.

OriginalRobboFOX Posted 2 May 2014 Author Posted 2 May 2014 £5 is a small sum to pay, granted, but when you've rushed from work to get there for 6pm like many others it's rather annoying to have to stand around for over an hour waiting for something to happen, no communication from the supporters club, and no set format. As another poster points out there was not enough seating and the two big tables in the room were reserved for the Ginetta entourage. I appreciate that not all players would turn out but it's an hour of their time and was suprised by the very low turnout. Like I said it's not the money (think I'll pay £100 and go to club awards next year) it's just the disappointment as a lot of people brought tickets in good faith being led to believe a large part of the squad would be there.
