Well done that kitty, and that dog needs putting down. Cats are quite protective, but not normally in a physical way. I'd normally expect a cat to try and warn the dog off vocally in someway, not charge it down. Amazingly quick reaction from the cat, like he didn't even think about it.

One thing though, ever seen or read about a cat attacking an innocent child for no reason. Cats are aloof, arrogant, fickle, and at times unhinged, but that describes all cats. Most dogs are great, loving, excitable, playful etc, but some dogs are absolute *****.EDIT: I get the bad dogs are sometimes like that because of their owner, but it doesn't change the fact the can be like that, be it nature or nurture.

It's pretty nasty watching him struggle to his feet on his own when he's clearly in a lot of pain and trauma

It's pretty nasty watching him struggle to his feet on his own when he's clearly in a lot of pain and trauma The person who uploaded the video edited the post, to say that the mother goes off screen to ensure that the dog has run back to it's house and to get the attention of the dog's owner, who was sat in the driveway. I love dogs and I always like to hear that the situation is properly assessed before dogs are euthanised, but that is crystal clear. God knows what the owners did to train the dog to do this, that wasn't a dog just naturally playing and getting carried away, that dog saw the kid, slipped round behind him and took his leg out from underneath him. That's learned behaviour and the owner should be punished and banned from keeping animals.

Very true, there are breeds which are more hard-wired to being territorial and wary of strangers but the way the dog went about the situation it's almost certainly been brought up with a complete lack of discipline.

I do not believe this conspiracy though and will give the cat the benefit of the doubt. Somebody needs to buy that cat a lifetime supply of canned tuna.
Beliall Posted 16 May 2014 Posted 16 May 2014 Pretty nasty. Most of the time its down to the owners and how they treat, train their animals. I hope they get a relevent punishment too.
