Grandad. Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 Earliest one is 1982. I will do. They're all in the loft, but he only had them down other day! Great stuff, fair play to him. If I have a boy, then I am going to keep all of his football shirts. Wish my Mum did the same for me!
fox123 Posted 27 May 2014 Posted 27 May 2014 Great stuff, fair play to him. If I have a boy, then I am going to keep all of his football shirts. Wish my Mum did the same for me! I have a 2 year old girl and I brought her the new England Shirt. We also have a keep-sake box for her, so this will be stored in there once she's outgrown it. Will do the same with the new Leicester kit when it comes out too - in fact she will have all the new shirts and kept in said keep-sake box until she tells me she don't want one.
Kitchandro Posted 28 May 2014 Author Posted 28 May 2014 That grey kit is lovely, they don't make em like that anymore. I've got it but without the number sadly. Recently bought the Spain 82 home and away, and have got all 3 Italia 90 shirts, they're a bit scraggy and worn though. I do love me some retros. Anyone found any wall charts yet? I'd have thought they'd be out by now.
One Legged Beaver Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-27699398 An all time XI World Cup team selection on the bbc. One of the most difficult tasks of my life was choosing two strikers between Maradona, Pele and Ronaldo.

Kitchandro Posted 5 June 2014 Author Posted 5 June 2014 Why choose when you can put all three in? You can only pick 2.
Kitchandro Posted 5 June 2014 Author Posted 5 June 2014 You can pick 3 strikers. Right you are, just discovered that. Anyway I'd drop Pele - massively overrated by today's standards.

Amin Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 Right you are, just discovered that. Anyway I'd drop Pele - massively overrated by today's standards. We're talking about the best World Cup XI aren't we? With his performances in 58 and 70, along with his 12 goals, he deserves his reputation as one of the greatest World Cup players of all time. Considering that he never got a chance to play a World Cup in his prime without getting injured early on makes you wonder what could have been. I think the reason that Pele is sometimes seen as overrated is because he never played for a European team, but the standard of football in the European leagues were not that much different to the South American leagues in the 50's and 60's. In fact, when Pele's Santos (the winners of the Copa Libertadores) took on Eusebio's Benfica (the winners of the European Cup) in the 1962 Intercontinental Cup, Santos smashed Benfica 8-4 over two legs, with Pele scoring 5 goals and giving his best performance of his career in the second leg. Anyway, you can't compare players from 50 years ago with the players of today, it's pointless.
Ric Flair Posted 5 June 2014 Posted 5 June 2014 Talking of old England shirts, just snaffled a Euro 2000 number for only fifteen sniffs. Happy with that. Got an original Italia 90 and a 1994 in my collection already.

The grey Euro 96 or the 1998 World Cup shirt are my preferred choices.

I was narrowly beaten to the red Italia 90 shirt, actual replica on ebay for £29.50! Only pissing reason I missed out was because of being in London all weekend and not checking my email. Ric that's a good purchase and a nice shirt as well, just reminds me of Phil Neville and Romanians though.
Beliall Posted 6 June 2014 Posted 6 June 2014 Im hoping my crap sells on ebay in time for the start of the wc so I can get a shirt. Good idea you guys have going retro, saves a few quid I might do the same.

Haydos Posted 6 June 2014 Posted 6 June 2014 Anyone know the best place to buy a new England shirt. Have to buy this shirt as it's the best in ages Eh? It's a plain white shirt with a Nike tick on it. If it wasn't an England shirt you'd pick it up for a fiver. Have you actually seen it in person? I went with my mate to get one the other day, he took one look and walked away, it's a seriously crap effort.

Only 25 quid on Amazon and the fit and quality of the shirt is great. It might not be an official shirt, but it sure as hell is better than the current one.
