Hiya,

With my return to OZ, i need to reset my laptop burner to region 2. In my old age i cant remember how to do it.. can anyone help please?

I think AnyDVD does it, or in windows i think you right click the drive in explorer and then go to properties and it's in there somewhere

Right. Just built my new computer and I've got round to using headphones on it and I'm having issues. The headphones work if I set them to the right setting on the Realtek control panel thing. Problem is nothing is recognised when I plug it into the audio ports. On most computers you plug them in, they're detected and output switches from the speakers to the headphones/headset but when I plug them in I have to manually fiddle about with the settings.

I plan on using a gaming headset and I've tried using my friends mic which after another load of fiddling seems play out of the speakers and headphones at the same time no matter what settings i choose.

I've tried all combinations of settings on the normal audio control panel and the Realtek one. I've downloaded new drivers, none of which seem to work and now I'm lost for ideas. Any thoughts?

Riiight, here's a weird one! (Running Windows Vista)

For some reason I can't add a New Folder to "My Picture" or "Public Pictures" folder.

It comes up with new folder when right-clicked but the symbol is the windows shield not the folder symbol. When I click is asks for my permission to continue, then says I need authorisation to continue. and does nowt. I am loged in a an administrator as well...

And yet I've done it plenty of time before... ? :dunno:

Any Help would be most appreciated.

Lately when typing on forums, Facebook, Twitter, etc, etc it lags, letters will won't always come up straight away like a second if that delay, i know that might not sound like nothing but it is actually quite annoying.. When i scroll up and down on sites aswell it lags abit, could this be spyware or something??

So i restarted Firefox in normal mode again and the lag has gone for now? This is weird, i'm just not sure what the issue (if there is one) could be!

It may have been an add on that isn't working properly, if it fixed in safe mode.

Looking to upgrade my socket 939 cpu.

Whats better?

My current single core 2.0ghz cpu

or

a dual core 1.8ghz cpu

Might be daft, but I'm looking on eBay as these things are rare and I haven't got enough money to buy a new pc/new motherboard, ram, psu, cpu etc.

I just want to see the difference!

Dual core, providing the software you're using can make use of both cores. No point having dual core 1.8 if the software can only use one of the cores, therefore only using 1.8 (as opposed to 3.6 if it could use both cores) when it could be using 2.0 with your current one.

I'd go for dual core 2.2 or something if you're on a budget.

Yeah. They are about the same price. AMD Athlon 64 x2 (dual core). socket 939, 4200+ which runs at 2.2ghz I think.

Hi all, I read on here somewhere about how to view UK websites, from overseas.. an IP blocker or something..would that do it?

Are they safe?

do they slow the computer down?

are there any issues?

Can anyone hep, here.

I connect my PS3 and PC to the router downstairs (wireless). the connection is very poor so I might buy a router.

However, if I buy a router, do I need a ISP? Because that will only add to the cost, and all I wanted was a router if possible.

I don't knw any other way of doing it.
