Sooo...

Laptop flashed up with the usual "close to no battery put it on charge now" message thing. All good. Put the charger in, and it is "6% battery, plugged in, NOT CHARGING".

Not charging?! Any ideas? Is the charger done in? Is the battery broken? Have I pressed something daft like "don't charge"?

Ta.

Mess about with the charger, you've prob got a loose connection / dodgy connection

Try a different charger. If it still occurs, or is intermittent, it may be the DC Jack pin thing inside the laptop.

How do you change the file type of a video?

Could be as simple as editing the file name and changing it? Or importing it into Windows Movie Maker and then going File > Save As and changing the format.

You can definitely run IE 8 and Firefox on vista, must have a problem somewhere? Vista was a horrible os though, full of bugs - could be anything

I'm on my 4th charger they're well known for breaking down, I had the original Toshiba one, a cheap substitute (£10), a genuine Toshiba replacement (£30) and now I'm on a really cheap (£5) and none have lasted any longer than they other. Oh and I also had a new battery.

Maybe I'm just unlucky with PCs as I also had to replace the power supply in my desk top PC yesterday and a couple of years ago I had a £650 Phillips lap top go kaput when the motherboard packed up 3 months after the warranty ran out, even that cost £60 to find out it was irreparable!

I'm having problems with my wireless dropping out. If I reset the router and/or modem it tends to be OK again. Only started happening recently but, prior to this, I noticed that my wireless signal was not as strong as it was before.

I have Virgin broadband and a Netgear WNR-2000 v2 wireless router.

Any ideas?

Nice one, thanks, I'll try that. I think it's currently set to automatically set the channel?

Think it might be interference?

Bought a cheap ( £60 ) chinese tablet of the internet last year which I use as an Ebook - fantastic. Decided to get my son one at Christmas and the second time he used it it blocked on the "pause" screen. Now when he/I turn it on the green light comes on but the screen stays blank.

Can anyone give me a suggestion.

The reset doesn't seem to do anything. the hold all buttons down at the same time doesn't seem to do anything.

Does anyone know of a site where I could download android again for free onto a microcard to try powering up with that in?

Any help would be appreciated. Otherwise I've just wasted a few quid and will have to go to a local store and buy the cheapest replacement that I can find.

Hey guys, I've got an Advent Roma 3001 that runs on windows 7. It's not even 2 years old. It worked fine at 3am today but now I can't get any response from it. It does not register that I'm charging it with a blue light or give any other sign that it's charging. I've managed to get onto the log on screen by taking out my battery and re inserting it but I cannot go beyond the log on screen as it shuts down. Been to a friend who's tested that the charger still works , so I'm thinking it might be a hardware/mother board problem. Any help will be greatly received thanks!

If you have deleted e-mails (plus emptied the recycle bin) is it possible to retrieve them? I'm sure it is but am guessing it's not hugely straightforward?

Right, every 10 mins, my internet goes off and in the bottom corner where it says how good your signal is it says 'no internet access'

Then i disconnect from the network and reconnect and it's fine. So ****ing annoying doing that and i can't stop it.

My connection is perfect and this has just started to happen recently.

On wireless laptop!

HELP PLEASE!
