broughtonblue Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Has anyone else noticed that a lot of teams are playing in their 2nd kit, even when there wouldn't be a clash if they played in their 1st kit. Match on now is an example, Swiss all in red but French playing in white instead of their usual blue, any reason for it?
Jimothy Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Marketing I guess. France might not wear that shirt again at the World Cup, so they need to get it seen, so people buy it.
Jace Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Im probably wrong but could it be because of their red socks? I know it wouldn't usually be a problem but with Fifa tightening up this World Cup telling the teams to play in solid single colours, if they have chosen to ignore the new rule which I believe France have Fifa ordered France to play in away as they are now being stricter on colour clashes as a way to enforce this new rule? If not its a pretty pointless rule
GingerrrFox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 FIFA made each team have a Dark and Light kit. In FIFA's messed up world Blue and Red are both classed as Dark so France have to wear white.
ScouseFox Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 yeah you can't both wear dark colours, hence the spain/holland game ending up with both teams in their away kits, because spain's home kit was red so clashed with both orange and dark blue (apparently) and holland were the away team.
Danizen Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Apparently, it's for the benefit of people in places like Coalville where they still have black & white tellys.
Jace Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Its crazy in Fifas world does this mean we will never see blue vs red again?
Samilktray Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 An eyesore1 of the best kits in world football. Stop this tomfoolery.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Its crazy in Fifas world does this mean we will never see blue vs red again? WTF. No more table football or Subbuteo. That's it, I'm joining UKIP.
Voll Blau Posted 20 June 2014 Posted 20 June 2014 Ridiculous edict from FIFA. Like last Friday, Spain v Holland. Spain had to commission a special kit for that game on FIFA's say so. Joke.
Dan Posted 21 June 2014 Posted 21 June 2014 . Cant stand cheque kits. I think you'll actually find it was Croatia's.
Fox92 Posted 21 June 2014 Posted 21 June 2014 Surely they flick for whoever plays in their home kit and whoever plays in their away kit. Like they do in Cup finals? edit: I think I've got that wrong because France play in blue, in this instance.
