john ridley Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 I feel like a broken record... do you know the last 4 years, you might not have noticed but when we signed "higher profile" players, we tended to be pretty average to shit. Then Pearson comes back and created a team from players people on here said "weren't good enough", "weren't high profile enough" and we ended up storming the league. It's not about signing players than make you feel happy because you've heard of them and their name has been in the papers more than others. It's about creating a team that works, it doesn't matter who these players are or where they come from to achieve that.
bluebeau Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 Tell you what you moaning sods, why don't you go & support Leeds Utd. then you will really have something to moan about, maybe you will be happy then? In NP & his staff I trust.
Dan Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 The day we go down the route of making QPR-like signings is the day I lose all faith in this club.
leicesterisme Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 Really don't get the obessesion with big name signings, the ones we could attract will be past it and will still want a huge wage. You'd think they way we tried to go about it with Sven would put people off but obviously not. You only have to look at Knockaert and Mahrez to see why we don't need big names on big wages. Hardly anyone even knew they existed before we were linked with them. I find it far more exciting signing a completely unknown player for pennies than paying 70k a week to a 35 year old walking ambulance.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 You really think we could afford Rio Ferdinand's wages? Well, QPR obviously can, and the answer is, of course we can afford them. Mind you, I personally would not have wanted him here.
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 I agree we need some signings that improve what we've got and not just more fringe players to replace the Danns, St Ledgers and Futacs of the club, but still plenty of time! Rio Ferdinand!!? Are you joking? let him join up with Has Been Rangers - they're a laughing stock, it would be hilarious if they signed him and Lampard, a squad full of over-paid, under-performing has-beens to join the lovely dressing room atmosphere of Barton, Assou-Ekotto, Taraabt (back from loan) and Morrison QPR are hardly a joke! I reckon they will do better than us next season, though I hope not.
Rich77 Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 Forget Frazier Campbell try get this arsenal kid Joel Campbell looks good got pace can finish World Cup experience and only 21
indierich06 Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 QPR are hardly a joke! I reckon they will do better than us next season, though I hope not. Most people reckoned that last season too.
Guest Col city fan Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 QPR are hardly a joke! I reckon they will do better than us next season, though I hope not. Though I'll be accused of 'loving Arry' or summat I wonder how many on here will put their money where their mouth is and actually bet on City finishing above QPR. That would be interesting. Personally, how things stand now, I think its close, but, as a bit of a gambling man I think my money would be on QPR. Just. That could easily change. Cmon lads and lasses, rather than the usual Arry's a chump type comments, what do you reckon? And what do the bookies reckon?
Corky Posted 24 June 2014 Posted 24 June 2014 Well, QPR obviously can, and the answer is, of course we can afford them. Mind you, I personally would not have wanted him here. QPR can pay £100k a week to players if they need to, we certainly can't. We are not at QPR's level in terms of paying wages.

Or are you just very worried? For what it's worth, I'd put £500 on it.

And it IS for charity. If you want to risk 500, lay it on any of the many gambling websites available. Then come back and tell us that you've done it. Bet you don't...

Also I'd have to give the money upfront with a bookie, whereas from you I'd just be waiting risk-free to collect my £500 next May. Nice attempt to sidestep, but predictable and ultimately transparent. This is you bottling a bet, not me bottling one with a bookie. I also doubt you'd get such a specific market from a website. Happy to investigate a price in-store though.

I've made that clear. Now if you want to lay 500 somewhere, I'm sure we'd be interested to see the odds you got and where. Let us know and we can track your progress. You think QPR will get relegated again straightaway.. like many have said.. place your bet.. Its not me saying City will go straight back down..its many on here saying QPR will. So put your money where your mouth is and let us know that you've done so.

By your own introduction it's about City finishing above QPR. We could feasibly both go down. You tried to play Billy Big Bollocks thinking anyone's impressed by you arguing Redknapp's case all the time, then when you realised people were starting to queue up to take your money you shat yourself. Hereby known as Col shitty pants I reckon. Hereby known as Col shitty pants I reckon. Again, it wasn't me saying that City would go down. It was others saying QPR would not learn from their mistakes and would fook it up again. Hence the post. Do you not understand? Now if this is something you genuinely believe, put your money where your mouth is, have the courage of your conviction and place a bet on City to finish above QPR so that we can all see you mean what you say. 'Ealing excuses' can be your new alias.. the man who will talk up laying a bet of 500 quid.. but who won't actually do so. Personally, I've never bet 500 quid. I tell you what though, if you do so (and tell us), I'll be genuinely impressed. Keep us posted.
Babylon Posted 25 June 2014 Posted 25 June 2014 Not sure why anyone would even take the bet as yet. QPR will once again just throw a shit load of money at it, despite them saying they "learnt their lesson" just after the play off final. That could be on a bunch of mercenary crocks like Ferdinand, or some decent young talent.

I think you are getting in a muddle you said to him "You think QPR will get relegated again straightaway", he never said that, he then pointed that out in the post you just replied to.
