Ingenious idea or simply bad taste?

You're the judge.

Anderlecht's Steven Defour is "welcomed" by the fans of his former club, Standard Liège, with a banner depicting his cut off head held by Jason Vorhees.

lol that banner, combined with Liege fans taunting Defour all game caused defour to blast the ball into the stands, resulting in a red card which then saw a load of chairs come flying out of the Anderlecht end.

bit daft he got a red, yellow would be fine.

Was a second yellow. Was pathetic though he was in the middle of the pitch when he did it, was hardly gonna do much damage. lol

It's still violent conduct and as such the referee was justified in sending him off, even if it does seem petty.

I would doubt the banner was a legitimate threat but a line was definitely crossed there. Fans will face bans and fines but Standard as a club should face penalties for that, it's a joke that the club was either complicit or turned a blind eye allowing that banner (which is neither small nor subtle) to be displayed.

lol if there was ever an indication of how bad English support had become in general that video is it. Everton fans so impressed with We Love You (ffs) that they give them a round of applause.

Incredible.

Incredible.Everton fans are just plain weird. Here laughing (i assume) at AEK fans:-

It's almost as if some english fans have forgotten that singing at games was once the norm and sitting in silence wasn't.

And most of those people are stood ffs. I would say it was an absolute embarrassment to Arsenal but we would only be kidding ourselves if we thought this sort of thing only happens at the Emirates.

C-Man, Do The Unity not hang their banner on the fences at Dortmund? Watched the game on Saturday and didn't see anything. Apart from shit loads of Shalke gear lol

I'd say it's probably the majority now. Definitely had it down at Leicester enough times. Depressing scenario.
