Super_horns Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 Why are they not buying anyone - did hear the manager wanted to buy from overseas but this chairman bloke refused. Well surely such transfer options would have been discussed before Riga took the job?
David Guiza Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 Oyston's been pocketing the money for years now. They've received a couple of transfer fees and done zero with them, ie Charlie Adam. Corrupt family, just look at his Dad, Owen. Sad state of affairs, have to feel for the fans.
Jordan Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 I don't see what the fuss is about--8 players should be more than enough for a tennis team. Seriously, though: is football the only high-profile industry where a business owner can graft this blatantly? What is the FL going to do about this?
Alf Bentley Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 I believe the club is owned by a pair of oysters, as odd as it sounds. Well, they need to show a bit more grit. They need to come out of their shells, be less crabby, stop cockling everything up and flex their mussels in the transfer market. That'll have the Blackpool fans doing the conger as the world will be their lobster.

Guest ttfn Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 Seriously, though: is football the only high-profile industry where a business owner can graft this blatantly? What is the FL going to do about this? Hang on a second - there is nothing wrong with the Oystons taking a dividend out of a profit-making business. There is undoubtedly some other stuff going on here, but a lot of these "payments" are dividends, which they are perfectly entitled to take and would be ordinary practice in any other business. Ultimately they're shafting themselves because they're taking value out of the club, but if anything football is the only high-profile industry where people invest and then take dividends out and are looked at as crooks. Dont; get me wrong - I don't have an ounce of sympathy for them and have plenty for the Blackpool fans. But accusing them of doing something abnormal in the world of business doesn't ring true at all.
Alf Bentley Posted 25 July 2014 Posted 25 July 2014 Stop fishing for +1s. Stop giving me them, then. You're feeding my addiction! Out of action for a week from tomorrow, anyway. Hope NP does a bit of good business (but not too much) in my absence...
johnny the fox Posted 27 July 2014 Posted 27 July 2014 http://www.channel4.com/news/blackpool-football-club-finances-forensic-accountant-video where's the money gone? now we know..and the football league band played on..

Corky Posted 27 July 2014 Posted 27 July 2014 Bloody Cheek! Could be the first time neither manager picks a goalkeeper.
Corky Posted 28 July 2014 Posted 28 July 2014 Signing spree today http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28089912
Jimothy Posted 28 July 2014 Posted 28 July 2014 Which of the 11 is up for donning the gloves and going in goal then?
RedHux Posted 28 July 2014 Posted 28 July 2014 Signing spree today http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28089912 Bugger. Still, they don't have a keeper and we don't have any attacking threat. Should be a corker. [emoji17]
Saxondale Posted 28 July 2014 Posted 28 July 2014 I believe the club is owned by a pair of oysters, as odd as it sounds. They're totally shellfish.
foxes_rule1978 Posted 28 July 2014 Posted 28 July 2014 Signing spree today http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/28089912 great signings there...
Voll Blau Posted 1 August 2014 Posted 1 August 2014 Still no keeper... Two triallists playing a half each in the friendly against Burnley tomorrow.
ROB-THE-BLUE Posted 2 August 2014 Posted 2 August 2014 Still no keeper... Conrad Logan would still only make their bench
doncht Posted 2 August 2014 Posted 2 August 2014 As much as I would like for him to go further, for now, looks like bench is the only direction for him I think.
ScouseFox Posted 12 August 2014 Posted 12 August 2014 currently losing at shrewsbury in the league cup. i'd say maybe they're playing a weakened team but seen as they don't even have a full first team let alone reserves i imagine that is a full strength blackpool team.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 13 August 2014 Posted 13 August 2014 That makes really depressing reading actually. I genuinely feel sorry for the fans. A cock like that laughing in the faces of his paying punters while he strips the club bare.
