Pride_Of_The_Midlands Posted 29 July 2014 Posted 29 July 2014 Exactly. Gerrard 1-0 Scholes Gerrard 8-2 Scholes
Danno Posted 29 July 2014 Posted 29 July 2014 Scholes really must cry himself to sleep every night about not winning Pfa player of the year lmao
Manwell Pablo Posted 29 July 2014 Posted 29 July 2014 F.a cup, league cup and a uefa cup ... snigger. So basically every trophy a player playing in England can win bar the Prem. Yeah, snigger.
The Doctor Posted 29 July 2014 Posted 29 July 2014 Scholes really must cry himself to sleep every night about not winning Pfa player of the year lmao At least he can dry his eyes on all those premiership, fa cup and champions league winners medals.
Steve_Guppy_Left_Foot Posted 29 July 2014 Posted 29 July 2014 THIERRY HENRY – “I can’t understand why Scholes has never won the player of the year award. He should have won it long ago. Maybe it’s because he doesn’t seek the limelight like some of the other “stars”. If he's of gone about beating up DJ's he might of stood a chance.
Grandad. Posted 29 July 2014 Posted 29 July 2014 People are still arguing over Steven Gerrard, anyone who says he is shit needs to be shot dead.
Grandad. Posted 29 July 2014 Posted 29 July 2014 Comparing trophies and medals when comparing players is possibly the most pointless way of debating the two players I have seen.. Just shows that you know nothing about the footballers you are debating over. Seriously there are so many players who have won multiple Premier League medals, compared to Steven Gerrard but they aren't better players than him, simple as that. I think Paul Scholes is one of the best midfielders the Premier League has ever seen, would I rather him over Steven Gerrard? No, not in this lifetime. Gerrard for me actually does have it all, every attribute you need to be a world class footballer Steven Gerrard has it all, he can play and has played every role of a midfield at the highest standard, he played as a make shift right back in a Champions League Final to numb a fresh Serginho, he has played as a striker for England in 2006, he could end up being a centre back for Liverpool if Rodgers gets his way. That is the kind of footballer he is, Scholes was world class in one area, Gerrard is world class in all areas.
Bryn Posted 29 July 2014 Posted 29 July 2014 "to numb a fresh Serginho" is one of the best things I've ever read. It's like the dictionary definition of a really questionable verb. illugerranumate v. To numb a fresh Serginho

It's like the dictionary definition of a really questionable verb. illugerranumate v. To numb a fresh Serginho Was Serginho effective in the time that he was on the pitch? Did Liverpool and Gerrard numb him? They are rhetorical questions.. Try and take the piss as much as you like, but I am right in what i'm saying.
RedHux Posted 29 July 2014 Posted 29 July 2014 If he would have said fvck you Liverpool, like he could have when nearly every top club in Europe wanted him, That was a hell of a six months.
AKCJ Posted 29 July 2014 Posted 29 July 2014 Shall we not regurgitate this argument? Who is the better footballer? Scholes, without a doubt. Who would I rather have signed and built a team around? Gerrard, without a doubt.
The Blur Posted 29 July 2014 Posted 29 July 2014 What's he ever achieve really ? Nothing in a England shirt and one flukey Champions league. I wouldn't consider him a great of modern times. I think Frank Lampard will be better remembered because of what he's achieved in his career. That is only because he played in a better team.
GingerrrFox Posted 29 July 2014 Posted 29 July 2014 Grandad telling everyone Gerrard is better than Scholes is the equivalent of a Dad refusing to believe his son is shit at football.

Grandad. Posted 29 July 2014 Posted 29 July 2014 Where was Steven Gerrard first half Albert ? Being absolutely over run in a 4-4-2 system up against Kaka, Seedorf, Gattuso and Pirlo, hardly a piss take. We change to 3-5-2, who scored the first goal and then won us the penalty to make it 3-3? Again a rhetorical question. Grandad telling everyone Gerrard is better than Scholes is the equivalent of a Dad refusing to believe his son is shit at football. You coming on here telling us you're a Leicester fan but then only ever post in here when a Man United player is being questioned and denying you're a Man United fan is funnier, trust me.

GingerrrFox Posted 29 July 2014 Posted 29 July 2014 If he was as good as Steven Gerrard he might have stood a chance. Scholes never won player of the year because he wasn't popular amongst fellow professionals. He kept his private left separate from his footballing career and barely mingled with anyone but his close childhood friends. He was a footballer and that was it. PFA awards are a popularity contest. Nothing more.
Grandad. Posted 29 July 2014 Posted 29 July 2014 PFA Player of the Year awards is a personality contest between every Professional Footballer in England? Yeah Suarez was a right popular person wasn't he.. Get your head out the clouds.

Yeah Suarez was a right popular person wasn't he.. Get your head out the clouds. It is a popularity contest you have teams who never vote for any of their rivals and there are players who never won it who should have (Owen, Lampard, Scholes, Wright etc) over various years and you get players who should have won it more times like Eric Cantona.
