marbelladave Posted 3 September 2014 Posted 3 September 2014 After a dreadful year in which I was unable to get to a game since the end of October and having to watch our progress to the championship via what little was shown on TV, I have actually got a little time and have spent a few days catching up on the forum. After a very confident season last time out it is going to be fun to see how we go this year, no season ticket so unlikely to get to many games, but as every game is likely to be on TV somewhere, it looks like the pub or the armchair for me this season. Impressions so far, Decent and competitive start but only 2 points, not unexpected but we need a win or two to get going. We must not relax against the lower profile teams in the games coming up Very pleased with the transfer dealings, some quality, some depth and hopefully not too much to disrupt the team ethic, which seems to be great. Several 'squad' players have stepped up in the last week or two, very impressive. Like Ulloa a lot, and Schlupp looks like a different player. The management team came on leaps and bounds last season, need to step up again this, but for the moment, it looks like they are capable of doing so. Actually quite excited.

Stevosevic Posted 3 September 2014 Posted 3 September 2014 We should have signed Cattermole ahead of Cambiasso.
Corky Posted 3 September 2014 Posted 3 September 2014 Having sat through the lean years of negative football, it's a shame you've missed the glorious season and encouraging start to a Premier League season.

Seriously pissed off about this. Months and months of family bollocks, a lot of time spent in Spain (some compensation) but my life is beginning to settle down now. Haven't had a season ticket in years and missed out this year, didn't really have the time to sort anything out and to be honest, I had no real idea that tickets, particularly away would be this difficult without an ST. Watched our three games (TV) so far and despite playing quite well, we have not really looked like winning, we really do not want to get a 'gallant loser' tag, the next 6 games will be telling.

I disagree about the Arsenal game, Ulloa and Vardy very close to scoring a winner, certainly more threatening than the Arsenal chances. If we can get four points from the next two heading into Palace and Burnley, 6 points is a very healthy return from the start.

I understand what you are saying but as with Nugent and Schlupp in the earlier games I didn't expect them to score. It's just a sort of feeling that we are not quite there yet, a few more games, a couple of good wins and I am sure I will be feeling more confident. It is not really negativity, I am, generally speaking, pleased with the way we are playing, more a kind of apprehension. As I said, a couple of wins will sort that out.
st albans fox Posted 3 September 2014 Posted 3 September 2014 You need to catch up on the fanny that we had on here two weeks ago.
