HEGGSY Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 Pre ordered the iPhone 6 with these and now they've gone into admin and they've charged me full whack off my card, so now I'm the best part of £500 down with no word on whether I'm actually getting my phone. Customer service number is down and all the stores are closed. Am I not gonna see the phone or money again
Sir Fynwy Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 You won't get a phone but you will get a refund, you'll have to reorder somewhere else and the phones are now on back order so you might not get one until October.
HEGGSY Posted 15 September 2014 Author Posted 15 September 2014 When would I get this refund do you think? Sometime next week?
Sir Fynwy Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 Not a clue when they will process refunds, it's just reported that you will get one on any phones that haven't shipped yet.

Tommy G Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 Have you paid by credit card? you get some security on any spend over £100
Beliall Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 500 pound refund = 50 knock off footy shirts
Bellend Sebastian Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 They were supposedly in quite robust health financially prior to the end of the Vodafone and EE contracts, so hopefully you won't have to wait too long. I'm struggling to recall a similar scenario where a company that big is doing just fine and then gets wiped out pretty much overnight, although I think it probably happens to smaller firms that supply supermarkets and the like fairly often when a contract gets cancelled. Didn't Corah's go under when M&S didn't renew their contract with them? Christ, that ages me doesn't it?
HEGGSY Posted 15 September 2014 Author Posted 15 September 2014 Thanks MC and Sir Fynwy No tommy I paid on my debit card mate. And beliall, piss off
Sir Fynwy Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 The BBC story is more upto date than the Indy http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/29201191
Beliall Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 Thanks MC and Sir Fynwy No tommy I paid on my debit card mate. And beliall, piss off
Rincewind Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 They will pay the big debtors first then ciustomors and workers last/
Sir Fynwy Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 They will pay the big debtors first then ciustomors and workers last/ It is the unusual situation where the business is solvent with lots of money in the bank but going into administration because the company now has no suppliers and nothing to sell, I'd expect all of their creditors to be paid out based on what I've read.
Nalis Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 Horrible little company focused purely on sales. Feel sorry for employees and staff though. Hope you get your money back Heggsy!
DB11 Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 Horrible little company focused purely on sales. Feel sorry for employees and staff though. Hope you get your money back Heggsy! Don't the employees make the company? They can't "sell sell sell" unless the guy behind the counter is pushing it down you I wouldn't mind seeing Carphone Warehouse go next purely to one experience of some woman that served me in the Loughborough branch
Nalis Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 Don't the employees make the company? They're just part of the corporate chain...
Guest Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 Thanks MC and Sir Fynwy No tommy I paid on my debit card mate. And beliall, piss off I'm pretty sure the chargeback rule is eligible for debit card purchases too when products/services bought don't materialise.
Webbo Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 Horrible little company focused purely on sales. Isn't that the point of a shop?
Nalis Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 Isn't that the point of a shop? Well there's customer service as well as overall corporate social responsibility...
Webbo Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 Well there's customer service as well as overall corporate social responsibility... I'm never sure what that's supposed to be. If I go to a place like that it's to buy a phone, I don't care what their policy is on saving the whale.
Strokes Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 I'm never sure what that's supposed to be. If I go to a place like that it's to buy a phone, I don't care what their policy is on saving the whale. Can't you just pretend to care, like everyone else?
Bellend Sebastian Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 I'm never sure what that's supposed to be. If I go to a place like that it's to buy a phone, I don't care what their policy is on saving the whale. It's the first thing I ask about. No whale saving policy, no deal. The customer is always right - that's what I learned in my time in retail. Except when they're a total twat. Then you can say, 'get out, get out of my shop'
FoxesAreBlue Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 Except when they're a total twat.Like the one who rode his motorcycle into our entrance today, parked up then got the arse when I told him that this was not okay.He seemed to think that I was unreasonable in pointing out to him that parking a machine filled with petrol and oil in our main fire exit was not a good idea and that if I drove my car through his front doors into his hallway he might have something to say about it too. Or the bellend who decided to charge his phone in one of our sockets? His great argument was that, you can charge your phone on a train, so why not here? He then made a formal complaint against me and accused me of racism as I hadn't spoken to anybody else. (Obviously the reason being no other fvcker was charging up their dog and bone) So glad I'm leaving this ****ing town - I'm sure the inhabitants all share the same fvcking brain cell.
foxfanazer Posted 15 September 2014 Posted 15 September 2014 My girlfriend worked for them and only left last week. Didn't know a thing about this so she was quite lucky. Horrible company to work for
