themightyfin Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 Wow just wow ! Well deserved. If he keeps up like this and getting this much attention, then the big boys could come hunting at the K.P in Jan.??? What bid would it take to get him off us if he keeps this form up??? http://www.leicestermercury.co.uk/Argentina-coach-keeping-tabs-Leicester-City/story-23005598-detail/story.html?
Chug Laguna Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 Would love to read the quote in the original Spanish because the translation seems strange. But not a lot in that, of course he's going to keep tabs on a player who's second top in scoring in a top 4 league in the world.
AKCJ Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 Would spaff everywhere if he got a call up to the squad vs Brazil. Imagine a Leicester player playing in that fixture.
Freesolo Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 Plays similar style to someone like Batistuta a pure No 9
ScouseFox Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 nice he's getting recognised i guess but doubt he'll get a call up for a while barring injuries.
TOMBlcfc Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 I think it won't be too long. Everyone needs to remember that Franco Di Santo was in there WC squad... They've got quality up front but not in depth
Guest Col city fan Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 What a great signing this fella is proving to be. Like some, I had my doubts at his price tag and his lack of experience at the top level. I was wrong and am happy to admit it. Other than his goals I love his work-rate and his attitude. Both top-notch.
sylofox Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 It will not just be Ulloa in jan if we carry on the way we are playing. Just hoping our owners won't buckle none of our players will be easy to replace in jan. And hoping if we finish well we do not suffer a Southampton summer. As for Ulloa making the Argy squad that would be great but don't they have a cup comp like the Africans?

Buzzell Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 If he keeps finding the back of the net for us then why not? It will be fully deserved. The £8m we paid for him seems like an absolute bargain. Let's hope he can carry on scoring. Quality player.
lestajigs Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 not better then what they already have, so no, not at the min
Brainy Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 Tbf Franco Di Santo was looked at for Argentina before the World Cup
st albans fox Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 I hope they keep looking at him and even more that they don't select him !
Jimothy Posted 26 September 2014 Posted 26 September 2014 Franco Di Santo wasn't in the World Cup squad.
MC Prussian Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Here's the (original) Argentine news article: http://www.losandes.com.ar/article/leonardo-ulloa-se-ilusiona-con-una-chance-en-la-seleccion-811812
surrifox Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Would spaff everywhere if he got a call up to the squad vs Brazil. Imagine a Leicester player playing in that fixture. Seriously? Wouldn't quiet satisfaction or even mild excitement be a more proportionate response
Bob Weasel Fox Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Seriously? Wouldn't quiet satisfaction or even mild excitement be a more proportionate responseAh the difference between a teenager posting on here and a bloke in his 30/40/50s etc
st albans fox Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 you really want our best striker making a double digit hour long flight a couple of days before we have a game ?? (and he probably wont get on the pitch anyway)
Samilktray Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 In a reasonably short space of time we could go from having Matty Fryatt up front to an Argentine international.
Dan Gliballs Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Just hoping our owners won't buckle none of our players will be easy to replace in jan. I don't think that will happen regarding the owners. Right now, and especially after the 5-3 result, the brand 'King Power' is getting an awful lot of coverage from clips and photos circling the web and world news. Players that are performing well, Like Ulloa are a key part of ourt side playing well, and aslong as they continue to do so, the more coverage the brand will get. From a pure business point of view, the coverage is probably worth more financially whilst we do well, than the profit from a player moving on. Having said that, if a 'big' club came in for him with a big offer, and the player really wanted to go (don't forget, Brighton were in a similar position when he left them for us), we wouldn't really be able to stand in the player's way. But I think the owners are very astutue businessmen, they'll recognise the value of brand awareness when we have a team that can really have a go in this league.

AKCJ Posted 27 September 2014 Posted 27 September 2014 Ah the difference between a teenager posting on here and a bloke in his 30/40/50s etc Or an overly excitable man in his 20s Seriously though. I grew up being taught that Argentina and Brazil were the best sides in the world and that the game between the two would be the perfect World Cup Final. A Leicester player playing in that game would be incredible.
