Bert Posted 15 October 2014 Posted 15 October 2014 Posted on behalf of Yacob who is a Newcastle fan. Hi, i'm from toonforum.co.uk and we like to ask opposition fans questions to use in our pre match build up. 1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle? 2 – New signings you think will make the biggest/smallest impact for both clubs? 3 – What young players could make an impact? 4 – Who is your most important player? 5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why? 6 – Has this season exceeded your expectations so far? What are your expectations after such a solid start? 7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit? 8 – What is the maximum you can achieve over the next five years? 9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider? 10 – Scoreline prediction?
Bert Posted 15 October 2014 Author Posted 15 October 2014 1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle? For us I would say 12th. Newcastle? 16th. 2 – New signings you think will make the biggest/smallest impact for both clubs? Cambiasso biggest and Lawrence smallest. Can't see the latter playing much. For the Toon, Cabella should be great and to be fair I couldn't answer the smallest. 3 – What young players could make an impact? Liam Moore is already making a massive impact. 4 – Who is your most important player? So far it's been Leo Ulloa, but Danny Drinkwater is the guy that makes us tick 5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why? Muzzy Izzet. He's my hero. 6 – Has this season exceeded your expectations so far? What are your expectations after such a solid start? Yes and many others I would suggest. Now we must build on it as this decent start will be nothing if it isn't backed up. 7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit? Probably a custard cream. Some love them. Some hate them. Some couldn't care less about them. A solid 7/10. 8 – What is the maximum you can achieve over the next five years? Establish ourselves as premier league side again as a minimum, otherwise without getting too carried away the sky's the limit. A bit of silverware or European competition. 9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider? Massive club that seem in a bit of a pickle through whatever reason. Should have enough to stay up but might need a shake up before the good times are to return. 10 – Scoreline prediction? I'll go for 2-2.
ScouseFox Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 1) I think we'll both finish mid bottom half. between 12th and 16th or so, and right now I think we'd both take it! 2) ulloa is our obvious one. started on fire with 5 goals in 5 games getting us valuable and surprising early points. cambiasso is a don as well and could be vital through the season. we've signed Powell, Lawrence and Danny Simpson who have about 10 minutes playing time between them so far but I'm sure all our signings will play a part as a long hard season starts taking its toll. not going to pretend to be massively clued up on Newcastle signings but I did put rivière in my fantasy team to start off cos I thought he'd do well after watching him a bit at Monaco. Apparently not?! 3) Riyad Mahrez classes as young for us and has the world at his feet. His ability on the ball would grace most teams in the league and if he adapts like he could to this league he'll be joining someone very good very soon. hopefully after helping us do very well. 4) hard to judge yet this season. club captain and defensive leader Wes Morgan is an obvious shout, ever present, commanding, can't imagine our back 4 without him tbf. jamie vardy makes our team much more exciting to watch though. most good things we do attacking wise revolved around his play last year. and Danny Drinkwater makes this team tick. the brains behind it all. there's a defender, midfielder and striker for you. 5) tough one. probably tony cottee cos he was the first player I loved at city I think. 6) yes and no. I didn't expect us to have this many points so far, but after the United game I expected us to get more than one point from palace and burnley. still just aiming for mid table tbh. staying up is a must. 7) a party ring. fell in love with em as a kid and still just can't get enough no matter what anyone says. 8) top half finished and a trip to Europe via a cup. much like the oniell days. 9) never really had much feeling either way. think pardew is a bit of a nob jockey and always disliked shearer. i loved michael Owen an martins an viduka so always wanted you to win when you had that combination going but other than that a bit of a nothing club to me, no offence. too far away to know any fans, our paths have rarely crossed in the last 10 years and you don't really do much to annoy the outsiders, your club seem fairly content annoying your own fans and vice versa. 10) 1-0 Newcastle. A lot of effort from our chaps, a poor performance by you and a lucky goal after a lot of spurned opportunities by us. You're still crap, we get no points, Pardew claims it was his genius that won the game, everyone leaves unhappy.
AKCJ Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle? I think we'll finish somewhere between about 14th and 16th. Newcastle will join us there. 2 – New signings you think will make the biggest/smallest impact for both clubs? I thought that Cabella was a great signing for you but I'm unsure on Rivierre. For us the biggest impact, without a doubt, will come from Cambiasso and the smallest will probably be Albrighton.3 – What young players could make an impact? Liam Moore is making waves in the first team and national U21 team. Future England senior player in my eyes. Matty James is one to keep a keen eye on.4 – Who is your most important player? One of our midfielders, take you pick.5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why? I'll be boring and say Pele for reasons indisputable. Quality player and an equally quality human being.6 – Has this season exceeded your expectations so far? What are your expectations after such a solid start? Even the most optimistic City fan won't have predicted our start. I thought we'd be in QPR's shoes at this point. I didn't see Ulloa making the impact that he has and I didn't see us taking 5 points off Arsenal, Everton and United. I think i'd be extra disappointed to be relegated now. I now expect survival rather than hope for it.7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit? What's the oposite of a Jammy Dodger? Yeah, that.8 – What is the maximum you can achieve over the next five years? Probably a domestic trophy.9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider? Shambles and the fans deserve better. They've got more than enough quality but it's run by buffoons. Now that we're direct rivals my feelings are somewhat subdued, but while in the lower leagues I couldn't help but wish them good luck. There's a big of a charm I like about the club and it's traditions. But Alan Shearer can do one.10 – Scoreline prediction? I can see a score draw. With both in form strikers getting the goals. Ulloa and Cisse.
One Legged Beaver Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle? I think both of us will finish between 14th-16th. 2 – New signings you think will make the biggest/smallest impact for both clubs? Leicester: Biggest = Cambiasso, Smallest = Powell Newcastle: Biggest = De Jong, Smallest = Darlow3 – What young players could make an impact? Against Newcastle I'd probably say that Mahrez would cause them the most problems. A tricky winger that loves taking on players. His shooting is woeful though!4 – Who is your most important player? Wouldn't say we have a most important player as Pearson has focused on us working as a unit, but I'd say that Vardy symbolises our team ethic. Although then again last season Drinkwater would just run the midfield along with Matty James which made us a formidable force.5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why? It would have to be Pirlo, coolest man alive!6 – Has this season exceeded your expectations so far? What are your expectations after such a solid start? It's pretty much Leicester written all over, play exceptionally against the big teams and then drop points against the lesser teams 7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit? I'd probably go with a BN, underrated but when analysed its class shines through.8 – What is the maximum you can achieve over the next five years? Probably a league cup and the odd top half finish if we're lucky.9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider? Decent fans who are just being messed about with by Mike Ashley. 10 – Scoreline prediction? I'll go with 0-2 with Vardy and Williamson (og) with the goals!
LCFCCKEANO Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle? Mid table for both, after Pardew is sacked of course.2 – New signings you think will make the biggest/smallest impact for both clubs? Biggest for us- Ulloa, Smallest for us- Jack Barmby, Biggest for you-Siem de Jong, smallest for you- Jack Colback.3 – What young players could make an impact? We have a young squad, most of our players will be under 24 vs You i imagine, biggest maybe Drinkwater or James if he plays. 4 – Who is your most important player? Toss up between Ulloa and Drinkwater5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why? George Best for the banter6 – Has this season exceeded your expectations so far? What are your expectations after such a solid start? Yes it has, I thought it would be a lot worse as did most of us, now expect us to be lower mid table.7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit? Shortbread, classy but often overlooked.8 – What is the maximum you can achieve over the next five years? I dont know but it is very very exciting.9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider? Big club with good support ran by absolute crooks with a yes man as manager10 – Scoreline prediction? 1-1, toughie with Pardew playing for survival, find your worst player and bet on him scoring.
foxfanazer Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle? 13th for us 16th for you 2 – New signings you think will make the biggest/smallest impact for both clubs? Ulloa or Cambiasso the most Simpson the least Don't know about yours 3 – What young players could make an impact? Liam Moore, genuinely think he'll get a number of caps for England and he's one of our own 4– Who is your most important player? Danny Drinkwater. When he plays well, we do 5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why? Dennis Wise, my spare rooms a shit hole and there's damp on the ceiling 6 – Has this season exceeded your expectations so far? What are your expectations after such a solid start? Had a feeling we'd do well but to hold Everton and Arsenal to a draw and beat yanited in such dramatic fashion is above and beyond. Staying up is priority 7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit? Who asks these questions? 8 – What is the maximum you can achieve over the next five years? Premiership stability and keep hold of Nige and our main players 9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider? Probably one of the biggest underacheivers in England, and I mean that in a nice way. Suprised a rich foreign investor hasn't snapped you up 10 – Scoreline prediction? 1-2 Vardy and Ulloa for us. Pardew sacked, everyone's a winner ;)/quote]
Royston. Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 Posted on behalf of Yacob who is a Newcastle fan. Hi, i'm from toonforum.co.uk and we like to ask opposition fans questions to use in our pre match build up. 1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle? Relegation for us, Newcastle to finish mid table. 2 – New signings you think will make the biggest/smallest impact for both clubs? Ulloa with goals and Cambiasso for being freakin awesome. Sorry, dont know who Newcastle have signed. 3 – What young players could make an impact? Moore will only get better 4 – Who is your most important player? Cambiasso brings experience and he can still play a bit. 5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why? Gary Lineker because he's a sweetheart. 6 – Has this season exceeded your expectations so far? What are your expectations after such a solid start? Very pleasantly surprised by the strong start but I think eventually we will get sucked into a relegation battle. 7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit? A Rich Tea because we fall apart in hot water. 8 – What is the maximum you can achieve over the next five years? Top ten status maybe a league cup if were lucky. 9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider? Proud club but on the pitch a bit of a mess. 10 – Scoreline prediction? 3-1 Magpies
Oxfordfox83 Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle? 13th for us. I can see you struggling for goals this year and could imagine 18th being on the cards. Luckily, with QPR down already there's only two places on offer... 2 – New signings you think will make the biggest/smallest impact for both clubs? Cambiasso seems to have been a massive influence on the squad, and Ulloa has allowed us to play a different style. Smallest will be Lawrence because, injuries permitting, he won't play. I'm afraid I can't think of anyone you've signed. 3 – What young players could make an impact? Moore certainly. Of those we haven't seen start for us, Powell looks to have goalscoring instincts and there may be a role for him at stages in the season. 4 – Who is your most important player? Morgan is the only player I think is undroppable. When Drinkwater plays well, so do we (although we coped without him early on). If there was one player I'd hate to see missing from the team sheet it would be Mahrez-we are much more threatening when he plays. 5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why? Gary Lineker. Man's a god... 6 – Has this season exceeded your expectations so far? What are your expectations after such a solid start? We started really well which is great, the last two results have emphasised that it's a long season and we won't play Man Utd every week. Hopefully start winning against similar sides and be safe by March. 7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit? Milk chocolate hob nob. Not glamorous, and not people's first thought, but when they have one they're surprised by the quality and reach for another... 8 – What is the maximum you can achieve over the next five years? FA Cup. Combining that with mid table for a few years would make Pearson our greatest manager in my eyes. 9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider? Loved Keegan's time, you had a hell of a side with Sir Les, Ginola, Asprilla, Albert and some local lads. Feel for you now because of the mismanagement at the top. Overall, I think you have Leeds syndrome of believing you're just a bit better and bigger than you really are, albeit in a less offensive way than Leeds. Your issues run a lot deeper than Pardew, who has an impossible job managing fan expectations against a chairman who'll sell any player who strings 10 decent games together. 10 – Scoreline prediction? Dour 1-1.
kingcarr21 Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle? Leicester 15th Newcastle 12th (providing Pardew is gone sooner rather than later)2 – New signings you think will make the biggest/smallest impact for both clubs? Leicester Biggest - Cambiasso with his influence on the team as a whole LeicesterSmallest - Lawrence just wont get much game time Newcastle biggest - Cabella looks a dangerous player Newcastle smallest - Riviere looks like he may struggle3 – What young players could make an impact? Liam Moore will only get stronger. Id put money on him being at the next World Cup for England alongside Cahill4 – Who is your most important player? Morgan is a true leader in defence5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why? Guppy. My fave player growing up as he played the position i used to play as a kid6 – Has this season exceeded your expectations so far? What are your expectations after such a solid start? I believed we would start alright but we got the points against the harder teams which i was surprised with. Still think we will be in a relegation battle come the end of the season but will have enough quality to see us over the line7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit? Dog biscuit. We are the dogs bo**ocks 8 – What is the maximum you can achieve over the next five years? For me a solid Premier League team with midtable the norm every season and a cup final9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider? I have always liked Newcastle. Growing up you were a great team to watch. I used to work on site with alot of Geordies so i have always had to listen to the toon army. If they won then work was alot easier so always kind of supported them. Ashley really isnt a football man and is slowly turning your club into more of a joke as each season goes on. Would love for Newcastle to return to its amazing football with amazing players and European football returning.10 – Scoreline prediction? 2-1 leicester
Leicesterpool Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle? I'm actually quite confident the foxes can achieve a top ten finish, i think it's fair to say last season the foxes ran away with the championship and there was already signs early on that Leicester at that time were already a premier league club. It's a young team that's been building for years that is full of potential. I think 8th. Newcastle? Pre season i thought around 16th there summer signings were quite poor and i though they'd struggle. So far there doing worse than I thought, probably Pardew should have gone in the summer. Did okay when he first arrived at the toon surprised a few people but the last couple of seasons they've looked really poor and slowly heading towards the championship. My advice to Newcastle is though is too keep hold of Padrew till the summer, something tells me under him he can grind out results from nothing and probably just about get enough points to keep you up. Remember the amount of management changes you made in the 08-09 season. Deal with Padrew in the summer, start fresh from then. 2 – New signings you think will make the biggest/smallest impact for both clubs? Cambiasso for me, quite a surprise signing for us I feel. I couldn't imagine him normally being a Pearson type signing... Anyway from what I've seen Leicester have made one of hell a signing, how did Nigel pull that off? Smallest Tom Lawrence i think, I don't see him quite breaking into the first team anytime soon. 3 – What young players could make an impact? Where to start? Liam Moore, Danny Drinkwater, Matty James.. 4 – Who is your most important player? For me Danny Drinkwater he's got a lot of potential and I think he'll play a big part in England games to come. 5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why? David Beckham 6 – Has this season exceeded your expectations so far? What are your expectations after such a solid start? We've got of to an excellent start. got the amount of the points I thought we'd get at this stage though I wouldn't have believed the idea of losing to Palace but hammering Man Utd 5-3! Never mind about the cups this season survival important. 7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit? Jammie Dodger both tasty looking and actually eating. 8 – What is the maximum you can achieve over the next five years? Be challenging for a europa league place, plus just maybe lifting the league cup once again. 9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider? A reasonable big club with owner that doesn't give a monkey's. A club like Newcastle should be within the top six at the moment quite similar situation to Villa. Big clubs with terrible owners. 10 – Scoreline prediction? A leicester win, realistic 1-0 Leicester De Laet. But back of my head keeps saying 3-0 to the foxes!
DennisNedry Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 Posted on behalf of Yacob who is a Newcastle fan. And why would it be that biscuit? 8 – What is the maximum you can achieve over the next five years? 9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider? 10 – Scoreline prediction? 1 -Leicester to finish 16th. Newcastle to finish 12th. 2- For Leicester: Ulloa and Cambiasso. For Newcastle: Did they sign anyone?! I thought that's one of the reasons they wanted Pardew out; sells the best players and doesn't replace them... 3 - For Newcastle: Last minute winner from Perez off the bench. 4 - Drinkwater, the whole team performance often hinges on how well he plays. 5 - Big Nige (as long as he brings his daughter with him) 6 - Yes it has, still expect us to struggle but just survive. 7 - A rich tea. Nobodies favourite but appreciated by most. 8 - Top half finish and perhaps good progression in a cup. 9 - Bit of a shambles at the minute, need to get rid of Pardew and sign some players who aren't 5 ft 5 and french. 10 - 2 - 1 Newcastle win.
Kitchandro Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle? I think we'll both be bottom half, but safe. I think we'll finish above Newcastle though2 – New signings you think will make the biggest/smallest impact for both clubs? For us, Ulloa's goals have obviously been big so far. Upson has been on the treatment table and I don't excpect him to play much of a part. Cabella looks decent for you but tbh I've not kept up with your transfer dealings much, I just assumed you signed a load more non-descript French players 3 – What young players could make an impact?Moore and Drinkwater are fairly young and they'll be regulars in the Premiership for years to come. Heard some good things about Lawrence who we've bought from Man Utd but not seen him yet.4 – Who is your most important player? Morgan when he's on form is massive for us. Drinkwater makes our midfield tick and Vardy completely changes a game when he's playing. Tough question, that. 5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why? Frank Woirthington. Imagine a night in town with him. Would be class. He'd be a top notch wingman for babe hunting. 6 – Has this season exceeded your expectations so far? What are your expectations after such a solid start? Not sure. I didn't expect us to beat Man Utd and draw with Arsenal but I also expected more from the palace and Burnley games. We've probably done how I expected overall. 7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit? Er, Chocolate digestive? I like chocolate digestives. And bourbons. And custard creams. Any of them. 8 – What is the maximum you can achieve over the next five years? FA Cup win and top half finishes 9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider? I've only seen them once live and highlights on MOTD but they look pretty crap. You need to broaden your horizons in terms of signings. 10 – Scoreline prediction? We'll nick it 1-0 I hope.
Oxfordfox83 Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 Frankie Wortho as a wing man?? I think you'd be looking at sloppy seconds mate, though they'd be rich pickings...
Livid Posted 16 October 2014 Posted 16 October 2014 1 – Where do you think you’ll finish this season? What about Newcastle? Lucky 13th. Newcastle will stay up, I'd be more confident if Pardew went though. I think there'll be a sack race to see who gets Tony Pulis in first. 2 – New signings you think will make the biggest/smallest impact for both clubs? Cambiasso amazed he agreed to come, does the simple things very very well on the other side Albrighton, Powell and Lawrence aren't making the bench at the minute. De Jong for you, obviously the two you loaned back to F****t. 3 – What young players could make an impact? Liam Moore England U21 local lad so we're very biased. 4 – Who is your most important player? Danny Drinkwater, if he is on form, the team are on form. 5 – If you could have one football player, past or present, live in your spare room who would it be and why? Keith Weller - Class on Grass and taken from us far too soon 6 – Has this season exceeded your expectations so far? What are your expectations after such a solid start? Overall in terms of league position, hell yes! After the euphoria of the United game though the same team didn't turn up at Palace the following week. The Burnley game was frustrating as we huffed and puffed but never got into our stride. To cling on to the lead until the 5th minute of injury time was Arrrrgggghhh!. In games where we were expecting something we've underperformed and vice versus. 7 – If your club was a biscuit, what biscuit would it be? And why would it be that biscuit? Garibaldi - often overlooked but quite satisfying and does the job. 8 – What is the maximum you can achieve over the next five years? Mid table mediocrity would be fantastic and a FA Cup win would mean I could die happy. 9 – What are your thoughts on Newcastle United as an outsider? Massive potential but god knows what Mike Ashley is doing. Pardew isn't one for the future. 10 – Scoreline prediction Anything could happen. If you're on your knees and need a hand up then historically Leicester are the team you need to play. I won't be surprised at any result. 2-2 maybe!
