Should smoking be banned in city parks?

If they're sitting right next to you then maybe you have a legitimate complaint but most of us wouldn't do that , if they're just using the park who are you to say they shouldn't?

To be fair my main gripe was talking about if they were coming up right near me...

smoing weed should be encouraged in parks

Genius idea....Think of the savings in mowing and grounds keeping costs etc :)

Would you really give someone abuse if they sat next to you in a park? lol

I think it's important we clarity what I mean. I'm talking touching distance. Personal space. In which case, I'd probably start with polite objections and build up to crass abuse.

Imagine two benches about 2 meters apart.  You are sat on one, and a bloke sits on the next one a few minutes later/  He lights up, and the smoke is blowing straight across at you.  Is that going to result in a tirade or not?  We need some examples here.

I like the bans in that WA article:

Banned: tobacco product displays in retail premises (with exemption for specialist tobacco retailers)

Banned: smoking in outdoor eating areas (with some exemptions)

Banned: smoking in cars with children under 17 years present

Banned: smoking near children's playground equipment

Banned: smoking between the flags at the beach

Banned: forcing staff to work in designated smoking areas
