DennisNedry Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Surely you have to be 100% sure before you spatula burn a man's balls to death? I mean, if I'd have walked in on it happening, I'd have no qualms torturing the bloke to death. However his daughter could be lying, so it's a difficult one.

Captain... Posted 5 November 2014 Posted 5 November 2014 Not a hero, sounds like murder to me, to torture then kill someone is premeditated. There is obviously some justification, and losing control and killing someone in a rage is one thing but to torture someone first is something else.
absolutelegend Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 Murderer for me. Its up to the state to determine guilt and administer punishment.
Finnegan Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 when i grew up heroes saved lives not ended them what a world we live in Best post.
Freesolo Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 Not a Hero just a father who wanted revenge and got it, before committing the crime he knew he would hand himself in to the police so he was lucid and was willing to pay the price for the revenge
Strokes Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 Best post. Yeah great post, soldiers aren't heroes then?
Mark_w Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 Yeah great post, soldiers aren't heroes then? Depends on their circumstances really. They're not automatically heroes because they decided to go and kill people.
Finnegan Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 Yeah great post, soldiers aren't heroes then? What, all of them? No. Any idiot can join the armed forces. It's a career with more risk than most but it is just a career these days. Have never understood the idolisation of the military.

Finnegan Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 Hmm what a nice thought approaching remembrance day, where your poppy for the heroes and idiots. You can mourn and remember the absolute tragic waste of life that all wars are without hero worshiping every individual that enlists, regardless of their deeds. I don't have to imagine someone to be heroic to be sad they died.
babylad92 Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 if i knew 100% someone raped close family then i wud do the exact same as this man prison is a comfortable place 4 meals a day free gym nd if u make mates u can protect urself in a group its not as difficult as the govt likes to make out

I don't have to imagine someone to be heroic to be sad they died. I couldn't disagree more. I do idolise those that have shown bravery fighting on foreign shores and taken lives, in the belief that they are defending the country.
leicsmac Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 I couldn't disagree more. I do idolise those that have shown bravery fighting on foreign shores and taken lives, in the belief that they are defending the country. I don't think there has been a serious and credible threat to this countries existence that required such defending since the end of World War 2, not without totally destroying the other side too (the existence of the Falklands aside, but that's a different matter). Was going into Iraq really defending our country? Potentially defending lives, perhaps, but even that's a stretch.
Finnegan Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 In the world wars, absolutely, time of massive national crisis. To me, that's what remembrance day is all about. Now? Eh, I wouldn't mock your opinion or beliefs, I understand a lot of people feel like you, I just don't think any real modern wars have been about protecting the UK. The Falklands, I suppose.

It sounds great. Do they have free wifi?
Finnegan Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 How would I go about moving to prison? It sounds great. Do they have free wifi? Break in to my upstairs neighbours flat and steal his speakers. Please?
Rincewind Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 How would I go about moving to prison? It sounds great. Do they have free willy? fixed
Mark_w Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 fixed I'm really just interested in the wifi, but I'm sure someone can answer your query.
Guest MattP Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 Neither. Like most though completely understand his actions in this case.
Charl91 Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 He is a murderer, but doesn't deserve the Death Penalty, due to the circumstances. Still demands a pretty hefty sentence though. I would have no qualms with him roughing up the rapist a bit, and then turning him over to the police, but I think torture and murder is a bit extreme.
Jon the Hat Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 Clearly murder, and no doubt he will go to jail for it. I would be very tempted to do the same in the circumstances, but I strongly believe in these cases your daughter needs you more than ever, and getting yourself locked up will cause even more damage to her life for the sake of you feeling better. You need to suck it up and be there for your family, not looking after your own pride. Not easy though.
Guest MattP Posted 6 November 2014 Posted 6 November 2014 Have never understood the idolisation of the military. I think people always idolise bravery and things they are scared of themselves, I'm not sure I'd have the guts to sign up for a career in the services, even more so a time where our troops are in great demand across the World. Add to that they are probably the last of the dying breed of the British stiff upper lip, you never see a soldier moaning about anything despite being abused to the hilt by their own government - be it illegal wars they are sent to die in, their pittance of a wage or the fact they even have to buy their own kit whilst a lot of their fellow public sector workers seem ready to down tools and try and hold the country to ransom for quite trivial matters in comparison.
