Our Leonardo wants to play for Chile

 

Leicester City's summer signing Leonardo Ulloa will soon be playing international football for Chile.

The striker, who moved from Brighton for £8m after the Foxes won promotion to the Premier League last season, was born in Argentina but has never played for the South Americans.

The 28-year-old has found it impossible to break into the Argentina side that can boast strikers such as Lionel Messi, Sergio Aguero, Gonzalo Higuain and Carlos Tevez in its ranks.

But he has a Chilean grandmother who has helped him claim dual citizenship to allow him to switch allegiances.

The striker can now link up Arsenal man Alexis Sanchez and West Ham star Mauro Zarate who also gained a Chile passport recently.
