Dickov22 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 The tackle on Lallana he won the ball hard and fair and square and all that, no foul was given and no complaints were made because it was great defending I thougt he put one on him. I'll watch it back tomorrow but that's what I thought at the time
Dickov22 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 You've given him the same rating as a man who gave away two goals and got sent off just after the hour; I don't think you could possibly scream "vendetta" any more if you tried. How did Wes give away two goals? I thought Koncheskey was at fault for Lallanas as he didn't track his run and fell asleep. Haven't seen it back though.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 How did Wes give away two goals? I thought Koncheskey was at fault for Lallanas as he didn't track his run and fell asleep. Haven't seen it back though. By quite physically tee-ing him up perfectly with that dreadful header?
Mark_w Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Surprised Matty is getting 4's and 5's, I thought he was one of our best players today.
ScouseFox Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 I thougt he put one on him. I'll watch it back tomorrow but that's what I thought at the time was very close to being an aggressive unnecessary studs showing type of tackle but he did take he ball first and the lack of complaints from any liverpool players suggests to me that they saw a hard tackle on a bit of a soft player. as an aside was it Lallana who went straight through Vardy at the end of the first half over by the dug outs almost? looked right nasty that one. from behind, nowhere near the ball. vicious.

I'm quite surprised people think he had a good game to be honest, arguably one of our most wasteful players today. Both he and Cambiasso really do need to start offering more protection to our absolutely shit defence because they can't cope.

Agree on Lallana, that was a bad one. Didn't think he was that type of player actually.
ScouseFox Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Agree on Lallana, that was a bad one. Didn't think he was that type of player actually. yeah was very odd, seemed out the blue just lunged straight at the back of vardy. as for the first goal the whole defence sauntering out didn't help anyone. woeful organisation. it all came from a very, very soft free kick "won" by sterling though.
Dickov22 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 By quite physically tee-ing him up perfectly with that dreadful header? I'll watch back but I thought live at the game Konchesky fell asleep allowing Lallana to get to the ball first when he had no right to

Lallana has incredible feet, he's a player I really rate. Pretty sure the challenge bad as it was, doesn't happen very often from him. We are defending terribly at the moment. For example, who was anywhere near Gerrard for his goal?

NGoloMode Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Wes's worst game for us. 2 goals and a red card essentially.
Dickov22 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Big Wes, "assisting" him. Yep but where was one of our midfielders tracking his run?
ADK Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Pearson 7 - Couldn't really see what else he could have done. Kasper 4 - Not going to go overboard but obviously this wasn't his best game. Konch 6 - Solid but limited. Morgan 3 - Worst game for us probably, looks so nervous, really hope the enforced break will clear his head. Wasil 6 - He's not the messiah but remains solid under pressure. De Laet 7 - MotM, managed to largely deal with Sterling and initiated a number of attacking moves. Schlupp 6 - Not perfect but showed glimpses of improvement, needs to close down harder and earlier. Cambiasso 6 - Good player, obviously missed an open goal otherwise decent. James 6 - Solid performance. Mahrez 6 - More rounded performance. Vardy 5 - Unfortunately another performance where he squandered far too many attacking opportunities. Ulloa 6 - Isn't helped by Vardy's performances, essentially scored a goal though. Albrighton 6 - Last two sub appearances have been reasonable. Overall feel we got the tactics right but were let down by individual errors, also as fans we under-rate the opposition. Liverpool might not be quite world class but they aren't terrible. If we maintain this level of performance and iron out the errors we will get results. Obviously some strengthening of the squad in January is needed.
foxinsox Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Kasper 3 what does he have to do to get dropped? RDL 6 Best game for a while, kept on top of Sterling Was 7 Brute force has its place Wes 3 worst I have seen him play Konch 3 horrible to watch Mahrez 4 too defensive, better on left wing at the end James 6 apart from set pieces, which were no threat Cambo 6 good most of the time Schlupp 5 shooting getting better Vardy 5 struggling at this level. Not getting any headers Ulloa 6 good to see him scoring again. Did better when Albrighton started delivering a few crosses Albrighton 6 good crosses later on but too late to do any good Pearson 4 subs need to be earlier to make a difference. Moore looked pissed off when putting his tracksuit back on. Bench: Why no Simpson? Why sign players and not play them ever? Liverpool: 4 Not suitable for Europe this year Ref 5 Should have carded Sterling for diving, not bad otherwise Crowd: not bad support considering the poor display I cannot see any top notch striker or defender proven in the prem wanting to come to relegation fodder. Its gambling time.
shen Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Interesting that there is not mention of Kasper definitely fouling Gerrard in the area. We should've been down to 9 men and conceded another one. All players can have 6 for the first half. I struggle to give more than a 4 to any player second half though...

I struggle to give more than a 4 to any player second half though... 6 of one and half a dozen of the other for that penalty. Watching in real time it looked like an obvious penalty but seeing replays after the match it's clear Gerrard jumps into him. I've seen them given but it was definitely a case of Gerrard engineering the contact.
cc_star Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Pearson - 4 - Stay, got the tactics right on Sterling who could've ran riot, but this gun-ho midfield will see us concede time & time again to opposition midfield runners. Schmeichel - 3 - The undroppable club 'talisman' needs dropping, badly RDL - 7 - Good job on Sterling, which left him little opportunity to get forward Morgan - 0 - Absolute horror show, gifted goals then professionally fouled slowest player on the pitch for a red, we improved massively when he went off Was - 8 - Steady which for us is remarkable,so a 7... But 8 for clattering their entire team, missed an easy header tho Konch - 5 - Mr average was average Mahrez - 4 - Started ok, good pass for the goal, but was total garbage thereafter, can't cross, passed to their players & woeful touch James - 6 - Good performance, without being great Cambiasso - 6 - Nice touches as usual, missed an open goal Schlupp - 4 - Makes me wonder how he's a professional footballer at times Vardy - 4 - Headless chicken football, all pace no product Ulloa - 5 - Responsible for the OG, why can't he hold the ball up & allow others to join in? Albrighton - 7 - Damn useful, must start for me, gifted Mahrez a fantastic cross who's attempt at control ended up back pass to Mignolet Liverpool - 3 - Dire... How we let that comedy outfit off I'll never know, Mignolet & their defence except Skyrtl were joke & we had Sterling & Lambert generally in our pockets. Very poor side who we gifted a victory. Ref - 0 - Total joke & attention seeker

Not a penalty, Gerrard tried to jump over his dive, Kasper didn't lunge in and Gerrard made the contact.
GeorgeTheFox Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Ref wasn't terrible but sterling should have been booked for diving and then grabbing the ball the little cretin. I'll throw in a 1 for the bt coverage-felt like I was watching Liverpool Tv. Vardy and Ulloa both shows glimpses but mostly did nothing. Schlupp and mahrez both 4's- looked tired. James and cambiasso were 7's. De laet was solid but certain people will never get off his back. Konch gave the ball away/aimlessly hoofed it too much. Wasyl was decent but always looks like he's gonna get sent off. Wes and Kasper-need I say anything? So many of the goals we've conceded this season have been from errors.i think we are good enough to stay up but with mistakes happening as frequently as they are there isn't much hope for us. I'll be glad to see a Moore/Wasyl partnership as I think Wes was more of a liability than Liam. People always blame the manager but you can't blame Pearson for the mistakes we are making
Dickov22 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Kasper's challenge on Gerrard looked a definite penalty to me
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 what's with the low marks for Matty James? He was our 2nd best player after Riyad again
shen Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Not a penalty, Gerrard tried to jump over his dive, Kasper didn't lunge in and Gerrard made the contact. Does he have to jump in for it to be a foul? He gets in the way and obstructs Gerrard, with no chance of reaching the ball. We would be fuming if Mignolet did that to Vardy and nothing was given.

RedSoxUK Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 It amazes me how Wasilewski managed to get out of that game without a yellow card... Schlupp even got a yellow and he picked up his for heading a 50/50 ball while looking at the ball with his arms not even raised, Wasilewski seems immune at the minute.
