JadeFalcon Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 now i dont usually vote on these kind of things, but this time i think i will yes he should be droppped... not because of a few mistakes, but i think for his lack of faith in the rest of the team. He needs to stop aimlessly booting the ball upfield for 1 maybe two players to chase onto, as its always being instantly rammed back down our throats, and its because of this as to why i think we are now strugling to have any effect in the PL. the aimless booting is useless, we need the ball on the ground and in our possesion to win, we cant keep trying 90 minutes of random counter attack especially since we are not winning the ball. we need to be passing it out and about and gaining confidence, who on that field would have confidence when you know the ball is just flying about to be easily picked up by an opposing player ? this affects our players on the pitch, their games will just keep getting worse and worse as they dont have the time on the ball to do anything really useful with it drop him and give ben a chance, it might just change our season... it changed ours last season when we were not booting it aimlessly. am not trying to make Kasper a scapegoat, but when your keeper doesn't have confidence in the players infront of him, then something has to be done
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 The question, for me, is WILL Pearson drop him? Do people think he will? I don't.....

The Blue Moon Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Jermaine Beckford Michael Johnson Sol Bamba Gelson Fernandes Neil Danns Matt Mills Chris Weale Ian Hume Richard Stearman That's all from the last 10 years; the list goes on Sorry pal but I must've missed the times Weale was linked with moves to Real Madrid and 8 million pound transfer fees. Nice try but only Beckford can be classed as a valid answer, noone rated any of the others above Championship level.
Guest ttfn Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Sorry pal but I must've missed the times Weale was linked with moves to Real Madrid and 8 million pound transfer fees. Nice try but only Beckford can be classed as a valid answer, noone rated any of the others above Championship level. You asked for overrated players "pal". No mention of an £8 million transfer to Real Madrid. Not to mention Schmeichel is much better than any of those players mentioned above except perhaps Fernandes. And plenty of people thought those players were better than Championship level.
Vicki Vixen Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 So Hamer is a better keeper than Kasper because he kept a clean sheet at Stoke? What about all the errors in pre-season? What about the goal conceded at home to Shrewsbury? What about the poor distribution and dropped crosses at Stoke? I think people are viewing Hamer through rose tinted glasses here, he has looked nervous every time he has played for our first team. Dropping Kasper would be a huge mistake in my view. He has kept us in numerous games this season eg. Arsenal, Sunderland, and will only get better as the season goes on. He also has a great attitude and is one of the few vocal leaders we have on the pitch.

Guest ttfn Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 ..you sure told him... Of them all, I think Beckford got the biggest debate on here. Or maybe Mills? Beckford was the only one where there was a debate to be had because he wasn't binned off immediately and had a six week purple patch where he scored a lot of goals.I think people realised pretty quickly that Mills was a dud. His two footed lunge at Birmingham to get sent off in October was proof positive that he wasn't up to it. The likes of Hume and Stearman always tried hard and were the best of a bad bunch. Schmeichel, Nugent and Konchesky were all great signings by Sven. Just a shame the rest of them were dreadful.
ealingfox Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 So all the way through pre-season people bang on and on about how you shouldn't read into friendlies, that they don't matter and that you can't make any judgements based on them. And now performance in friendlies is the biggest stick people are beating Hamer with. Equal amount of clean sheets to Kasper last year in the Championship playing for a far worse side. And 100% clean sheet record in the PL, better than Courtois, De Gea and Lloris. I'd go so far as to say Kasper is comfortably the biggest contributor to our current woes. His shortcomings cause problems for the back 4, lead to their shortcomings and are a very significant root of the majority of the goals we have conceded. It's the fact that Schmeichel won't be dropped that will see us down.
Dan Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 I personally think it's about time to try Hamer. I'm not saying he's our saviour, but can he be any worse than Schmeichel has been of late?
john ridley Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Just think what would be going on if we hadn't of signed the bearded one and still had logan as number 2 .
Livid Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Not saying he's the solution but what's the worst that could happen? A goalkeeping error costs us points, we are already having to put up with that. A more commanding keeper could take a bit of pressure off our back 4.
The Blue Moon Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 If you think the likes of Iain Hume, who was rated as a hard working Championship grafter and performed as one, were more overrated than Kasper, a self-obsessed little cock who can't come off his goalline yet was talked about like he was a top Prem keeper, then you want your head checking.
The Blue Moon Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Just noticed Michael Johnson on the list too haha. I don't know a single City fan who rated him.
peterthefox Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Having a keeper that takes control of his area will solve a lot of our problems. Schmeichel needs to be dropped, see how Hamer does, can't be any worse, at least we will know if we need to find a keeper in Jan.
Freesolo Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Without a doubt. I wish he ****ed off to AC Milan in the summer and got Fraser Forster, But i think im dreaming we would never had paid 10m and his wages. If i'm honest i had some confidence pre season he would hold his own in the Prem
DANGEROUS TIGER Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 I certainly think he should be, but I can't envisage Pearson dropping his "blue eyed boy."
Guest Col city fan Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 I certainly think he should be, but I can't envisage Pearson dropping his "blue eyed boy." Nail on head..I suspect
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Yes drop him if Hamer is better - the problem is we won't know the answer to that until we give him another go. Is it time to be gambling on Hamer? - that is an argument, the counter being for certain at the moment, Kasper is not doing the job to a sufficient standard.

RowlattsFox Posted 6 December 2014 Posted 6 December 2014 Captain tomorrow won't he? So no chance of being dropped. Hopefully he has one of those games where he wins us points through his shot stopping.
