cityfanlee23 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 There has been lots of debate this season about Kasper and his "Performances" In fact there has been debate about his "Performances" at times since he arrived, So thought I put up a quick poll. Should Kasper be dropped and Hamer given his chance? Personally I think he should be dropped, confidence is low, and that won't change until the whole team starts to pick up points, but he makes silly mistakes and has been one of the main under performers for me this season, and It's been a while since I've been confident in his ability to be frank. I think he should be made to fight for his place again, Maybe there is some complacency between the players because they KNOW they will more than likely feature every week due to us not having the biggest squad depth? Remember Joe Hart being dropped for Pantillimon? Hart came back and played like a new man. Ben Hamer looks as though he could be a real talent if nurtured properly, but could end up being another bright player that Leicester ruined. Give him a chance I say, and Let Kasper show us what he is made of. Please don't take this as me scapegoating on Kasper, the whole team needs to improve, But Hamer took his chance fantastically against stoke and doesn't look to me as if he's been treated fairly. Who knows what goes on in training, All I know is that this is a swap we could afford to chance for the better of the team. Atleast we know Hamer will be brimming with confidence if given his chance again. Otherwise I can only see him losing confidence in this club if he is constantly benched regardless on how many mistakes Kasper makes. Thoughts?
ADK Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 I would have dropped him after Palace although we don't get to see how Hamer performs in training. To drop him now would damage his confidence in my opinion. Weale never really recovered from being dropped an we didn't manage to get a suitable replacement and that cost us.

That's the risk involved, I mean personally just my opinion, as much as I rate jasper I think the majority of his hype is the name, and to be frank I rate Hamer as a better prospect in the next few years than schmeichel.... Just my opinion though and only time will prove it wrong. Just can't help but think Hamer must be spitting seeing jasper consistently make BIG mistakes (not just little ones) Looking back on the goals we've conceded this season he's normally either flapping or out of position for the majority... And doesn't conmand his area it's a free for all in that space. Don't get me wrong he's pulled of some fantastic saves and at times he had pulled us out of the sh*t with last ditch saves etc. However we are not in a position to be praising what he's done this season because it's been a while since he's even looked confident or able. The only solution I see is to give Hamer a shot, schmeichel says he has complete faith in Pearson and has always backed him publicly from the start. As a professional I think schmeichel would improve from being dropped but I don't know him personally. He's a winner, and I'm sure Pearson would make him understand why... But hey I'm just a fan! Haha
Monsell1976 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Him and a few others, same group of players, keep making mistakes, and getting poor results, those sitting out have to be given a chance. For me hamer, Simpson and albrighton need a chance, not just one game, but a run of games

kasper wasper Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Good shot stopper but poor at most other things. Should be dropped
Leicesterpool Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Yes for me too, Hamer as only played one game and in that one game he managed to keep a clean sheet plus Leicester managed to win in that game. Of course it's a gamble but new things need to be tried. Kasper is a good goalie but sometimes his decision making is pretty poor.

Pulled off a dramatic double save when the game was against us aswell
Bert Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 He's pushing his luck. Can't see him getting dropped but this can't carry on for much longer.
lgfualol Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Drop. But he will probably throw the mother of all hissy fits.
peach0000 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Yes, theres not much point in having a decent 2nd keeper pushing for his place if he doesn't get a game when he is playing well and the 1st keeper keeps making mistakes
AyewJoking Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Yes drop him. He's amongst the top keepers in the championship and our best keeper since Walker. When we go down I really dont think he'll jump ship to be no.1 for a Premiership team. Somewhere abroad is more likely. For a keeper, even in Sunday League its vital you command your 6 yard area.
Guest MattP Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Yes, it's time now. I'd even be looking at potential replacements in Jan, is we can bring in a quality keeper we could probably do with cashing in at some point while his reputation still exceeds his ability, classic buy low sell high. Those who said we wouldn't get away with his lack of command in this division have been proved correct so far. Time for Hamer, it's not a good message to send when someone can keep making so many mistakes and stay in the team.
Limeade Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 If he wasn't a Schmeichel he would have been dropped weeks ago, Form>Reputation for me
justfoxes Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 YES !!!!! Far too many mistakes costing us big time wouldn't harm brining Hamer in to show KASPER he needs to sort himself out and fight for his place with better performances !
kingfox Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Love Kasper but he is doing himself no favours. Time to give Santa Hamer a chance.
Vossen Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Pearson will stick with most of our players....This happened 2 seasons ago & we still made the play offs... Have a little faith...we'll beat Villa
LCCFox96 Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Kasper will see his arse if he is dropped that's for sure. I'd be all for it and giving Hamer another chance - not that he did not take the first - as Kasper is making silly mistakes and his poor distribution can prove costly in tight games. But Kasper will probably hand in a transfer request if he loses his place in the team. He just doesn't strike me as the kind of guy who'd accept being number 2.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 I'm not sure on this, I rate his shot-stopping a lot and think it's underrated by quite a few people - does save us a lot of points
lestajigs Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 No, I really don't think we have better, at the minute
Matt Posted 3 December 2014 Posted 3 December 2014 Based on last night, probably not, I didn't think he did alot wrong, apparently he was at fault for the last goal but I was down the other end of the pitch, wasn't really concerntrating myself and havn't seen any replays, but based on before last night i've wanted him dropped for quite a few games, therefore I have voted yes. Also dropping Kasper would be putting out the statement no-ones place is safe.

Also dropping Kasper would be putting out the statement no-ones place is safe. Firstly he spilled the ball badly for their 3rd goal, and was therefore to blame. Secondly, why should anyone's place be safe? No matter what level they're at performance is key and if levels drop then replacements should be brought in. Hamer did well enough v stoke, and I wouldn't have started him in the following game as Kasper is the no.1. I'm fed up with the lack of commitment in the box and I think this has bread to nervousness in defence. Kasper doesn't attack crosses, he may well have conceded a pen and been sent off last night for the 'collision' with Gerrard (a brilliant player recently dropped btw) and his spill for the 3rd leaves me voting to drop him. Hamer came to challenge him and deserves a shot. If we go down this season kasper will be off somewhere else, there'll be a release in his contract no doubt, so let's have some Hamer time!

Exactly, that's the point i'm making but it's taking time for replacements to be brought in, 1 example RDL - Why is Simpson not getting a chance? I also believe the players think places are safe, thus my comment of dropping Kasper would hopefully send out a statement to the rest of the players.

His distribution was dreadful aswell although Mignolet's was probably even worse(I know Hamer's was shit at Stoke but Charlton fans say that's his best asset).
