Dickov22 Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 I can understand the foad comment but you should never tell fans to stay away. But weren't those fans booing and giving him a hard time after he'd been back in the job just a few months? They had no idea of the scale of the mess he was trying to sort out post Sven. Barely any money an unbalanced squad, too many high earners and the fans were still too thick and impatient to see the bigger picture. I'm glad he put them in their place
Dickov22 Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 Not sure why these conversations always have to turn aggressive. Di Matteo wont win the Champions League nor the Bundesliga. The Premier League was his home as a player and manager for many years. Our proximity to London where I would imagine a great deal of connection still exist along with the Resources and set up available here would make us an attractive proposition. Laudrup isn't gagging for work, he's managing in Qatar so again, I would think the Premiership would be more attractive in terms of career. I could go through all the others on the list but it's probably pointless. I could name other realistic options but they would be shite in your eyes too. Out of interest, are you Ryan Betts from Twitter?

The man needs to realise that football is nothing without fans, wether they go to matches, or pay for sky.
Raj Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 Men...and cityfanlee..I've told you yesterday and i'll tell you again...he ain't going nowhere...even IF we get relegated!!! Happy New Year!!!!

Monsell1976 Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 Yes, hence why he acknowledges the fans and their importance EVERY FVCKING GAME.Does he, sorry I just hear fine margins, I can't say I can remember him saying every game him praising the supporters, but he does like the if you don't like it don't come, well he does when we are on a bad run, Leeds home last time, Liverpool home this time.Doesn't matter how you dress it up, as a manager payed by a club. Should NEVER tell fans to **** off and die, or tell them if they don't like it, don't come.

Completely agree..but why is this STILL being brought up mate?Old news now really.

Guest Col city fan Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 Don't know mate, somebody brought it up, and I let myself get dragged in, sorry col, let myself down Pearson probably regretted losing his cool as soon as he did so. I don't think he thought he was wrong...but probably knew what was coming. It's just been done to death though I guess. We move on to the next big game..though I'm afraid I think Liverpool away could just be our first big tonking of the season.

In general, supporters tend to ignore or forget the regular, ever-returning soundbites when a manager praises his team or is critical of it (which you won't hear that much and neither so obvious). So, what does stick? Unique statements, be it highs or lows. Listen, we need to make it clear here that Pearson did have a go at one particular loudmouth fan. One. That doesn't mean that he holds the whole support or friends of that old bugger in the same contempt (at all). We'll only be able to judge Pearson's achievements in the long run and once he's left this club and a few years have passed. Up until then, it's pointless picking on one particular sentence uttered, as we all know how reserved and professional the manager has been up to this point. Point is - some of us can understand where the manager is coming from, others cling onto that particular sentence and use it every time they need an argument against him. Repeating it over and over doesn't make the case stronger or the impact bigger. Look ahead instead of always looking back.

"Do I not like that" from 'Turnip' Taylor being written into folklore.
Silverdaz Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 Your right it's to late to sack him, as I have been saying in previous posts, if the owners are not going to sack him now after the appalling run, then they are never going to sack him. Doesn't matter if someone came in and the team crumbled, 5 out of 39 points is terrible, and is not a hard target for a new manager to achieve, or get more from, given the window to bring in players, so that argument to keep him is irrelevant, it's all if's, but's and maybe's, somebody could come in and have us winning more than we lose. As I have said, I want a manager that can get us competing in the league we are in, and Pearson is failing in a big way, that's not to say I hate Pearson, just stating facts, if he improves great, if we go on another bad run like the last, then no matter who the manager is, or what they have done, cannot survive that, and would more than deserve the sack. But we are being competitve apart from possibly Swansea no team has played us off the park
Raj Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 This is very true and there have been some illuminating examples. "Do I not like that" from 'Turnip' Taylor being written into folklore. fook me..mc PRussian aka Big Alex and Col agreeing on something!!!!It really is the festive season!!! !!!

Monsell1976 Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 Pearson probably regretted losing his cool as soon as he did so. I don't think he thought he was wrong...but probably knew what was coming. It's just been done to death though I guess. We move on to the next big game..though I'm afraid I think Liverpool away could just be our first big tonking of the season. This whole subject has been done to death mate, we all know he's staying mate, wether some like it or not, The bloke needs to start proving to the people that have shown faith in him, that he has what it takes to manage in this league. From what I see of him, is an arrogant man, at a loss to sort it out, but I judge him on how we are performing, not what I think he comes across like Yes we have beaten hull, but there was nothing convincing about the win, and they had enough chances to beat us, and if we give other teams those chances, they won't be so generous in not taking them. So over to Pearson, he can be as arrogant as he likes, as long as he backs it up with a competitive team in the league he's in, and as I have said, many managers would have been sacked with the first half of our season, the time for settling in to a new league is over, and I hope we have a better second half of the season. Don't care if it's Pearson or a new man, I just want better than we have had over this run, good luck to him, and I hope he keeps us up.
Raj Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 You're still a tw*t, though. (Love you to bits, Raj) ...hope your well mate? Let me know when your back in Leics!.
Monsell1976 Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 But we are being competitve apart from possibly Swansea no team has played us off the parkOk we might not get beat heavy, but results and points returns say we are not competing.

See the post to col, I will gladly forget that first half of the season and leave it well in the past.I have also stated, the settling in period is over, good luck to the bloke, but the second half of the season has to be better, and I hope he keeps us up. As for his comments, yes the need putting to bed now, but when the pressure is in in the future, maybe he should refrain from making these comments, as they do him no favours.

C-man Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 Any prior to the Liverpool game, keep them coming, and I haven't got twitter, I watch the news or read the mercury Oh I see, you're thinking he's only started to recognise the fans now he's in trouble. Or maybe it's because fans' support becomes a more relevant question for interviewers as losing runs go on and on. Either way, there's no chance I'm wasting more time going back but I remember him praising the fans after Southampton and Newcastle away.
Corky Posted 30 December 2014 Posted 30 December 2014 Any prior to the Liverpool game, keep them coming, and I haven't got twitter, I watch the news or read the mercury He's been doing it for years, I can remember him coming over well before games and chatting with the fans, he seemed to really enjoy being in amongst the supporters after Huddersfield last season. I do believe he recognises and appreciates the support of the fans overall.
