theessexfox Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 I'm still unconvinced it was a pen despite the MOTD pundits.
ADK Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 I wouldn't mind seeing Wood given game time but feel there must be a reason he hasn't been involved much.
Dickov22 Posted 27 December 2014 Author Posted 27 December 2014 I'm still unconvinced it was a pen despite the MOTD pundits. Good god I wouldn't mind seeing Wood given game time but feel there must be a reason he hasn't been involved much. Because he's useless
chicagofox Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 I'd like to see Wood given a start too. He can't score any less than Vardy or Nugent.
Dr The Singh Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 He couldn't finish his dinner at the moment, and atm Ulloa is a better leading man and Nuge is a better link up player. However, like Gandalf said of Gollum, I think he still has a part to play in the story of this season. I think gandalf would make an excellent signing
LCFCDannyB Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 I'm still unconvinced it was a pen despite the MOTD pundits. In the ground: Didn't think it was a penalty Watching MOTD: I Think it was a penalty but I can see why the ref hasn't given it because he sees vertonghen win the ball and not the fact vardy hits it onto his foot as vertonghen takes him out
cjslcfc Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 I'd like to see Wood given a start too. He can't score any less than Vardy or Nugent. That's such a BS argument. Personally, I think Wood offers very little to our team. He's not particularly good in the air, his link up play isn't great, he's slow, he doesn't work as hard as either and his technical ability is very limited. He's got as many goals as them but Vardy and Nugent, as evidenced by today, offer far more than Wood does.
Soar Fox Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Oh no who else we going to get to run around like a headless chicken offering zero goal threat. Dickov22 blind loyalty to Vardy but continuing Nugent bashing is quite funny.
Arriba Los Zorros Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 I'd like to see Wood given a start too. He can't score any less than Vardy or Nugent. bloody hell, you could write 100 posts and I wouldn't agree with one. awful negative drivel!
Harry - LCFC Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 I also think we're paying for his dive against Man U. He deserved a pen today, not for the first time since Man U. His reputation proceeds him The ref indicates that Vertonghen got the ball after he gives the decision. We might disagree with him there but it does show it wasn't anything to do with a suspected dive.
ADK Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Because he's useless Possibly, although he's had very little game time and scored once and set himself up a good chance which he missed (Southampton) He's still probably our second best finisher and I would like to see him and Ulloa feature. Vardy is best used as an impact sub.
SeattleShane Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 I'd have him in the squad for sure, but Nugent has been better the last 2 games, we probably ideally need a replacement though. Yeah because they have scored a lot of goals.
Bert Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 MISSING... ... Vardy's end product. And first touch
Grewks Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 haven't we picked up more points when he hasn't started in the side? Stoke - 3 arsenal - 1 everton - 1 only 4 with him starting right? Ulloa offers a lot more for me....his hold up play today was outstanding.
Captain... Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 In the ground: Didn't think it was a penalty Watching MOTD: I Think it was a penalty but I can see why the ref hasn't given it because he sees vertonghen win the ball and not the fact vardy hits it onto his foot as vertonghen takes him out Same here, sums up our luck really.
Crinklyfox Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 Two seasons ago some posters were saying that Vardy wouldn't make it in the Championship, but he adapted and last year was very influential. In addition to his goals he got us a number of penalties. He hasn't been as effective this season, he's not getting brought down in the penalty area, he's up against better defenders. I wouldn't write off his chances of adapting to the PL yet, and would want to see him on the bench even if he doesn't start, so IMO it'll be a weaker team while he's suspended.
chris_lcfc_85 Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 His first touch is very questionable to be fair and his one goal so far isn't great but he'll always be a threat with his pace, caused a few problems when he came on yesterday and should of had a penalty. He's just a good option to have against a tiring defence
Dickov22 Posted 27 December 2014 Author Posted 27 December 2014 Oh no who else we going to get to run around like a headless chicken offering zero goal threat. Dickov22 blind loyalty to Vardy but continuing Nugent bashing is quite funny. Wrong as usual. Thought Nugent played well yesterday and although he was a threat with his pace, Vardy lacked quality again in the opposition's box. Also said earlier in the Nugent thread I could see why Vardy had been dropped in favour of Nugent. You've also accused me of bias against Wasilewski before. Wrong again. He's not my favourite but I gave him the top mark of all our back 4 yesterday. I just say it as I see it. I do think Vardy is too dangerous with his pace for us to leave him out, but agree he doesn't work in a front 2 with Ulloa. I think we look more compact with Nugent playing the deeper role because most sides play 3 in the middle. However, Nugent poses pretty much no goal threat.
Dickov22 Posted 27 December 2014 Author Posted 27 December 2014 I'd like to see Wood given a start too. He can't score any less than Vardy or Nugent. He did last season. Once again a player who is not in the team suddenly becomes good. Wood isn't in the team because he doesn't jump for headers, his first touch is pretty poor, and he's slow. It's obvious he has no future here.
Dickov22 Posted 27 December 2014 Author Posted 27 December 2014 The ref indicates that Vertonghen got the ball after he gives the decision. We might disagree with him there but it does show it wasn't anything to do with a suspected dive. I just think the ref's are swayed towards always not giving him a penalty because of his dive against Man Utd.
lcfcbobby Posted 27 December 2014 Posted 27 December 2014 His 5th booking against Spurs was an absolute joke it happened right in front of me! He has ran in towards the box when Hugo Lloris had the ball in his hands and when he has got close to Hugo Lloris, Lloris has threw the ball away and jumped on the floor was a complete dive and all the fans were chanting cheat. I was hoping to see it again on match of the day but it didn't show it!!! It was very controversial!!!!
