Fantastic support again

And for those on here saying it was decent- I've spoke to several United mates that were there yesterday who have told me they genuinely thought we've been the worst fans they've seen at their place this season

Have they played Arsenal, yet? If they have then that's bullshit!

To those of you not liking the "one off fans"

I'm a 17 year old leicester lad who lives in London who's father and grandparents aren't big football fans. I probably get to 3-5 games and admittedly usually the exciting games.

This however doesn't make me any less of a leicester fan than anyone else, I'll always follow the blues and think its rather odd people are upset about having a full attendance every week because not every fan is a "constant attendee".

so it doesn't make you any less of a fan than say someone's who's got a season ticket and goes to all away games?

Im not one for all this Im a bigger fan than you bollix but i am for abit of reality!

I thought it was ok at times yesterday, but not really consistent. Unfortunately the way we played killed it, shouldn't be like that but for the majority it is.

Literally can only remember hearing noise twice from United fans.

Comes down to the fact you should have unreserved seating if you want to sing you go to the back, if you don't you sit at the front. I mean what's the point in you having a seat if 75% of us stand up anyway. Lets face it proper standing areas won't come back.

I agree with unreserved seating. It seems like pot luck, at the minute. For the Southampton game, there was only two of us singing in the whole block. It really felt like we were ruining some old lady's day out.

I didn't say I didn't like one off fans, as I said in my OP I'm not getting into one of these arguments, but I wouldn't say frequency of away's matter it's the support itself once there.

They don't even deserve to have an opinion, terrible home support even when winning 3 0.

Tbf, I'd be interested to see how much noise their fans would've made at the KP if they were 3-0 down at half time.

No mate, the old lady was ruining YOUR day out.

Pretty sure if they'd have been saying our support was mint you wouldn't be saying that...

When I simply cannot afford a season ticket, cannot drive to away games or to leicester for coaches and work Saturday nights I think thats a bit of reality saying yes it doesn't make me any less of a fan then you

Can we avoid this argument for the 100th time this season? People are so touchy about whether they're a 'proper' fan or not when there's no real definition.

It doesn't mean they can't join in with the chants though.

I don't care what United fans say either way. But it is hard to have a good away atmosphere when the home one was as absent as it was yesterday, hence the best chants being aimed at our own support (left side right side) rather than at United.

We managed it at Anfield and that was equally as quiet

Bollocks. If you're relying on what the other lot are doing to make a racket yourselves you need to look at the mentality of your own support.

You aren't a one off fan then are you, don't get so precious

Don't know why people get so touchy about this 'proper fan' argument.

I do wish we had a mentality like Leeds. I'm not talking about numbers as we'll never match them in that regard, but for noise they are superb, they never give up. Ours do far too easily.

It don't half frustrate me how bad we are in the stands compared to in the concourse.

Spence ... You keep supporting the team, get to whichever games you can and that's good for me. I've had over 40 years home and mostly away but had times living abroad with the forces where I got to two games a season but my support never waned .... You've got a lot of years ahead of you supporting this great club of ours.

It annoyed me when we played Spurs... Yes we were good in parts but we should have made a racket all game!! There was no pressure for us to win at all. Why people go to away games like that with no pressure to win and don't join in with chants is ridiculous, may as well stay at home with a cup of tea and stream it

That's the problem, too many exhaust themselves singing in the concourse and then deliver nothing during the game. Seen it at a lot of away games, with Doncaster away last season standing out.

The other problem is that some people are just too quick to moan. I had a chap behind me moaning to his mates because we were being outplayed by Man Utd! He then decided he'd seen enough after 70 mins as his time 'could be better spent in the pub'. If City had been awarded a goal for every time he was negative we'd have comfortably have won by a canter. Each to their own I suppose but if you're not going to get behind the team and think your time is better spent elsewhere why bother in the first place.

You seriously don't think the noise of the other fans has an effect on ours? I don't think we were great (although considering we were 3 0 down at half time I don'y think we were poor either), but my only point was that it was rich from any United fans to say anything derogatory against our support when the home atmosphere was appalling, even when they were beating us by 3 goals.

I think a lot of people just go out of habit. There's no way some are actually enjoying being there.

I wouldn't say they're exhausted, I'd just say they're split up and diluted by those who don't make a peep.

I'm not saying it doesn't, I'm saying it shouldn't. You think Leeds turn up somewhere like Watford and don't bother singing coz the home fans aren't?

Anyway given Man United are one of the best, most consistent away supports in the country they have every right to give their opinion.
