shailen Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 Recently, our manager has been criticised heavily which I can understand. But I hate how people adjust their opinions after a loss. At the start of the season, Pearson was god. Many thought he'd be one of the best in the club's history.Players like Drinkwater, James, Vardy, Wes....etc all considered for international recognition by our fans. Now they are useless. My point is if you believe these players aren't good enough fair enough. But don't react to form. I believe these players are good enough, but haven't been able to adapt to the league. Given time they will prove themselves. It's the inconsistencies of opinions which annoys me.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 reacting to form was saying Vardy should be called up to England. It's not after one loss either, it's been mounting up for a long time.
shailen Posted 7 February 2015 Author Posted 7 February 2015 reacting to form was saying Vardy should be called up to England. It's not after one loss either, it's been mounting up for a long time. My point was if you believe the player was good enough for England, you should believe in his ability and not conclude he's rubbish, not cut out for this level...etc. Obviously I'm not saying he should start every week, but don't change opinions so quickly.
The Horse's Mouth Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 The thing is, Vardy has had one good game. Are we just supposed to look at that game and be like wow he's world class, or do we look at his consistently woeful performances?
shailen Posted 7 February 2015 Author Posted 7 February 2015 The thing is, Vardy has had one good game. Are we just supposed to look at that game and be like wow he's world class, or do we look at his consistently woeful performances? Not my point. Clearly, he hasn't performed at this level and rightly so he should be on the bench. But if you believe in his quality, like he showed last year, then back him. Just don't call him useless after a few bad games (yes it's more than a few). Players like Aaron Ramsey, Gareth Bale, Giroud...were all deemed not good enough for their clubs, and all proved that they were. Obviously not comparing our players in terms of quality, but if you believe in their quality and not their form then stick by them.
shailen Posted 7 February 2015 Author Posted 7 February 2015 For all we know, Mahrez next season, if he's with us may struggle at some point. Do you call him useless then?
Zapp Posted 7 February 2015 Posted 7 February 2015 For all we know, Mahrez next season, if he's with us may struggle at some point. Do you call him useless then? some will call him useless if he has a bad game on tuesday

shailen Posted 8 February 2015 Author Posted 8 February 2015 some will call him useless if he has a bad game on tuesday Hahaha this is exactly what will frustrate me.
st albans fox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 some will call him useless if he has a bad game on tuesday I expect he will be brilliant on tues. He prob fancies himself as a gooner. After all he speaks the lingo and arsene loves a small dribbler.
Rich Fox Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 It's the manager over the last few games has proved he is not good enough and totally out of his depth, but it's the fact he appears to not give a shit laughing in his interview and still ignoring local media. He's just in it for the money it was the reason he came back from Hull on the first place and has not affinity with our club and even if we win every game left and the FA cup I would still want him gone after his interview with BBC yesterday.

Obviously not comparing our players in terms of quality, but if you believe in their quality and not their form then stick by them. That's a silly comparison as these players had other players in their team that could replace them with a high enough quality. Leicester do not have that luxury, in fact the problem does lie in the fact that we do think that they are good enough, however through, lack of direction, effort, determination, guidance or whatever it is they are under performing. That's the biggest problem

Well then you're a fvcking embarrassment and should probably go support another club if you're irrational hatred of the bloke means you would rather Leicester City lose in an attempt to get rid of him. The 'Pearson out' crowd show their true colours with statements like this.
bovril Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 "At the start of the season, Pearson was God." Really?

Stuff like this I don't understand. Have you seen interviews with the likes of Bill Shankly, Brian Clough and Alex Ferguson? I recall both Ferguson and recently Mourinho not even undertaking interviews for the BBC. They appeared to be very strange in interviews at times, it means nothing. The local media thing with Pearson, however, I do agree with. I doubt Pearson is just in it for the money. He came back because the job wasn't finished and look, we're now in the Premier League! What didn't you like about the interview on motd yesterday? Because of the McArthur incident (which is blown way out of proportion).
ADK Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Ulloa had a terrible game yesterday, you could tell at times he was annoyed himself. He's otherwise been our best striker. I just knew we would have a topic started simply titled "Ulloa" where people slate him. It's embarrassing.

Our 'form' since the 5-3 win against United is 9 points from 57, 2 wins, 3 draws and 14 defeats. Drinkwater has 0 goals and zero assists James has 0 goals and zero assists Vardy has 1 goal and 3 assists Wes has -2 goals and - 2 assists (penalties conceded) At Championship level the players listed above have done well, in the Premier League they have repeatedly been found wanting. Their quality, it appears, is restricted to the Championship.
Guest Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 At the start of the season, Pearson was god. Think there has always been an element not keen on him. It's just a growing minority now.
chapero82 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Once you are in this position nobody can save you, even if we had the best players in the world we would still go down.
LCCFox96 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 People's frustration with players like Drinkwater is the fact we know the quality they have but they aren't showing it in their current form. He's not turned shit in 1/2 a year but is struggling with the setup. If any of those mentioned in the OP had 3 good games in row now people would be saying he's been a revelation: - desperate measures call for desperate statements.
Guest Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 Once you are in this position nobody can save you, even if we had the best players in the world we would still go down. The position itself is not impossible - It just feels it when we keep buggering up big games. Now we are reliant on picking up points in ridiculously tough games like the next 3 we have coming up Arsenal away, Everton away, Man City away - we will do well to get a single point in total from those games and will probs be 6 or 7 points adrift from safety at least. The run in is pleasant but you have to stay in touch and show capability of toughing out the must win games.

Drinkwater been the biggest surprise really this season. Was incredible last season. Been one of our worst this season when he has been involved. Vardy's poor form is not surprising given how out of his depth he was first time in Championship. Either he's a slow learner or last season was just a freak.
fox1990 Posted 8 February 2015 Posted 8 February 2015 would help if he played drinkwater and james together in midfield as i dont think they have played together this season, or if they have its in a diamond for example at southampton. For me Pearson should of stuck with what he knows. Those 2 last season were the heartbeat of the team and now they look a shadow of themselves
shailen Posted 4 May 2015 Author Posted 4 May 2015 Wanted to make the point whether or not we stay up this season, we have shown we are good enough and have the quality. So hopefully the fans can understand this and not stop believing in the players and reacting to bad form. Criticising a player for bad form is different to questioning his ability. If not, some of our players would currently be on champions league levels. I've said since the new year I've seen us play well and show the quality but we haven't had that clinical touch. We have found that in the last 6 games and we are really starting to turn performances into results.
